I literally started the Halo series around the time that the first part of these was published, and I'm glad I finished the fight all the way through haha Another great retrospective, Prime. Can't wait for the next one :)

I had a blast listening to this series. Halo has meant so much to me, and some of my best memories center around playing Halo and goofing off with my friends. I really hope Halo can find its footing again and enter a new golden age. Also STAR WARS NEXT LET’S GOOOOO

If your story only works when you have to read a series of books, before you even engage with the main narrative, youve done an atrocious job as a writer. I love the concept of halo 4s story, but the execution was borderline utter dog shit. The villian shouldve served more as a foil to mastercheifs and cortanas human characteristics. The fact that chief finds love within an essential robot speaks to how he feels about himself. He knows he is a machine of war, yet still cares so deeply for the human race. Having the villian wanting to turn humans into robots shouldve highlighted that idea so much more than it did. Also, chief and cortanas romance should be strictly platonic, yet i couldnt help but feel like they wanted it to be more than that, which seemed to be a very odd choice, bordering on some sigmund freud type of stuff. Cortana is made from the dna of essentially chiefs mother. They shouldve leaned more into his wanting of a mother figure to nurture his humanity, less so i want a ai gf that i know is basically my mom. Thats what makes halo 4 an endlessly frustrating experience for me. Also, the codification of the mulitplayer experience, adding sprint and loadouts more akin to a cod experience, ultimately forcing them to design some of the worst maps in halo history.

So I’ve been busy the last few weeks so not had time to catch up on this video or episode 3, sorting that now! So like I said in my previous video I’m not the biggest halo fan and the only one on the video I played was ODST but despite that I still watched the entire video once again purely just because of the way u present these videos! So so entertaining. I appreciate you replying to my previous comment on the last video regarding doing a mass effect documentary. You should okay it, it’s so so good! And maybe a gears of war documentary? Especially with the announcement earlier of a new game coming - may do well with the algorithm

As much as I trash Halo 5, I think it’s probably the one I got the “best” at in the multiplayer sector. I wasn’t really that good, I’ve always been a campaign fan, but I got really into it. I’m a lifelong halo player, but I gotta admit the advanced movement and sweaty lobbies were great until they weren’t lmao. Also I did put a lot of time into Warzone as well. Idk, it wasn’t the best Halo game, but I’ll admit when it’s good.

Halo "Infinite" is such a perfectly ironic name if you think about it. There seems to be an infinite amount 1h+ videos tearing 343 a new one. Talking with friends about 343 and how they messed up Halo seems to always become a endless converation because of 343's infinite amount of problems.

The forerunner series is just a mess and tbh I don't really blame 343 because they do have so much incredible talent. I do blame Microsoft and its insane corporate hiring practices. As a project lead I can’t imagine having to retrain a new person every 13-18 months all because Microsoft didn't want to pay benefits. Like bro is a trillion dollar company and bought Activision for nearly $69 billion. And it honestly seems explains why Microsofts products are the way they are.

Honestly if it were up to me I'd reboot Halo starting over at the end of Halo 3, its not as if 343 was ever able to create a cohesive story all they really did was backpedal their decisions with each entry (plus Frank Oconnor never understood or cared about the stablished universe Bungie made and changed it on a whim to fit what he wanted). Funny this video came out as rumours of a CE remake are coming out, if its real I think it would be a great way for the new 343 leadership to show they have what it takes (plus it would be a great starting point for them to start moving over to unreal engine)

I used to dislike the movies, but after rewatching them I appreciate them alot. The first 3 are so fun to watch, some parts I don't care for but I could watch them over and over. 4 and 5 suck though

I watched this whole series and haven’t even played a single game. It was very interesting, and you did a great job 👍. I know you probably only cover series that you love, but could you possibly do a mortal kombat retrospective. I love your videos and would like to see one on a series I love. Everyone complains about Halo 5’s marketing, but never complain about the first reveal for Infinite which was practically nothing like the game. And aside from the textures up close, everything looked very play-doh-esque with awful rigging on the animals and rubbery plastic for the soldiers and Chief. That was my first big red flag about Infinite that was overlooked by everyone else Infinite was such a drastic “course correct” it’s whiplash inducing and failed to deliver on all the promise set up by 5 and Wars 2 and delivered and excessively weak, repetitive, and bland game that looked worse than it did before

The Hobbit trilogy is not that bad. Sure it has its short comings and is somewhat overblown but it is still worth watrching. Of course it in no way measures up to "The Lord od the Rings".
