Ойын-сауық

Tell us... what do you fear?
After nearly sinking the entire franchise on the big screen, an 8 year process began to reignite the character of Batman worldwide.
Christopher Nolan and company joined the franchise and worked tirelessly to bring about an all new iteration of the character that would revive his popularity around the world.
Tackling the earliest days of the Caped Crusader in an unprecedented way: rebooting the character entirely.

Looks like ads have started popping up on this video, SO, if there happen to be too many ads... I can't control the ads so it's not my fault 😔 Copyright claims mean I don't control the ad frequency, nor do I make the money off of the ads. So, my apologies if the ads are ridiculous. At the very least I hope you can still enjoy the video 🙏

As for my thoughts on Batman Begins goes, it’s definitely my favorite in the trilogy. The Dark Knight is perfect but I like the vibes and pulpy fun Begins shows off while also taking itself 100% seriously.

Begins is my favorite in the trilogy. Heath's Joker overshadows everything but i really like the Bruce character journey in this. I think its a stronger "movie" that TDK and especially R (which imo isnt very good in general and just feels like Nolan phoning it in)

Totally agree. Ledgers death and fantastic performance overshadowed a few flaws and for me Begins is the better film. I've tried many times to love Rise but I just can't. It's good but not at the level of the two previous. If it was at the same level it would be be the best trilogy in history.

@jasonlloyd3335 What is a trilogy where all three movies are on equal footing to you? I really feel that the arguments of how TDKR "isn't on the same level as the previous two" actually translates too "it didn't gel with the TDK sequel I envisioned in my head".

I have an interesting history with Batman Begins. I was told it was a prequel to Keaton’s Batman, not a reboot. So I was so confused when Joe Chill died, since Nicholson’s Joker killed Keaton’s Batman’s parents. So for the longest time as a kid this movie confused me like crazy

These retrospectives are great. TDKT is incredibly near and dear to my heart. Some of my favorite movies ever. Excellent work dude. I'm definitely subscribing. (Nolan also refers to Batman in BB as being akin to the Alien from the first Alien movie. A monster in the shadows you rarely see. Which I think sums it up just as well as the Jaws comparison.) Batman Begins is an amazing and often underrated film.

Rewatched Batman begins recently and it’s obvious to say but it’s so good. The fact that it’s filmed on location and on purpose built sets rather than in a big warehouse with green screen everywhere really shows, all the cast are amazing, Gotham city could have been a bit weirder but that’s just a minor nitpick. I also forgot how funny this movie was, not in an annoying MCU way but just Alfred’s snide comments and Lucius Fox’s wit, even Gordon saying I need to get one of those when he first sees the tumbler. This whole movie is amazing

(Typed this before watching the video) I love this movie. I don't know if it was on purpose but something I noticed is that Ras Al Ghul and Batman are very similar to a koruko(asian stage hand), which are often confused with ninjas. Koruko are staff that work in the background and are dressed in black or any other solid color to show the audience that they're supposed to be invisible. In this movie, Ras and Batman both dress in black and work in the background to achieve their objectives in this movie. There is also the theme of theatricality in the first batman begins. There is also the play/opera show that spooks Bruce as a child. Its very fitting that Koruko are confused with ninjas with batman and ras both recieving ninja training in the league of shadows.

The thing about Batman Begins is that Nolan really hadn't directed a lot of action until then. So my biggest issue is how quick cutting and shaking the sequences are. They kind of give me a headache. Considering the action in TDK and TDKR you can definitely see him learn and improve so it's hard for me to go back and want to watch Batman Begins.

Didn't give it a shot until early 2008 when I saw the first look at Heath Ledger's Joker and a few teasers for TDK; I watched it, loved it, became a fan of the character again, and then found myself eagerly anticipating TDK, which went on to blow BB outta the water.

My only issue (other than the miss pronounced names from Ra’s and Henri Ducard) is the whole “I don’t have to kill you I just don’t have to save you” ummm yes batman YOU DO Have to save him! That’s voluntary manslaughter or as most people call it MURDER! He not only caused the event that killed him but he also COULD HAVE SAVED HIM.

Thank God we only have to wait a weak 🙏 I felt a pain of mourning nearing the end of the video. Thinking that I'm going to have to wait indefinitely for the follow up to another Prime's Theater banger!!

Are you gonna talk about Batman Gotham Knight? It's a animated movie consisting of several shorts that take place between batman begins and the dark knight.

I lived through this, so it's so weird to me seeing a pop culture moment reiterated as a moment in history. Happy to see the Nickelback promo mentioned, but it would've been cool to also see how the live broadcast of the season 4 finale of Smallville showed clips and full scenes of Batman Begins a whole month before it came out. That got me to tune it to Smallville, even though I had stopped watching back in season 2 during that time.
