Another great episode from you pommie b's. So good to see you taking on the harshest conditions Aus dishes up. Alcohol permits are an attempt to stop low life profiteers (and there are many) from extorting First Nations communities for grog e.g. buy a cask in town for $20 and selling in the community for $100 plus. Mining is another issue! The Mirarr people, the custodians of Kakadu NP have just stopped the Jabiluka uranium mine. A land mark decision and a message to big mining. Hopefully the Mirarr people set a precedent to their kin in putting country over $$$ and the land is left in its natural beauty.

I think most of the West has lost it after decades of bad politicians. Housing issues in Australia, UK, Europe, America, too, among other troubles. When you get out in to the wilderness, is when you can forget about the woes.
