When I was a boy, I LOVED fireworks! I loved combustion, especially the loud and colorful combustion of fireworks. I am thankful that I didn't hurt myself or burn my neighborhood down by accident. Those things are dangerous--which, of course, is why they are so thrilling.

I also want to say that I expect better from Merriam Webster. They are my preferred dictionary choice; and I hope that future videos are less lazy. Lastly, there is a chance people may misinterpret the video and think that i.e. and e.g. literally stand for in essence and example given respectively. I believe that from an educational standpoint that we should strive to minimize the spread of misinformation as much as possible; this short does not get a passing grade in that regard.

Absolutely! Everyone told me it was a waste of time taking 6 years of Latin, but I don't regret even a minute of it. There are a multitude of benefits you get from knowing Latin; and said benefits peek through into daily life more often than most people think. It helps you with vocabulary and etymology so much. And on top of that I can struggle my way to partially understanding most of the romance languages even though I've never studied them directly. It also helps with learning science (e.g., knowing the Latin root for chemical elements can help you remember the periodic symbol; iron in Latin is ferrum and ferrum=Fe). I could keep singing praise for Latin, but I'll leave it at that.

You get up to a whole minute for a short and yet you managed to completely skip over what each abbreviation actually stands for. Time for Latin to actually be useful. i.e. is the initialism for the Latin "id est", which translates to "that is". (To be extra pedantic, "id" technically is "it" not "that", but translation is by definition not literal) e.g. as another guy in the comments pointed out is short for the Latin "exempli gratia", which literally translates to "for the sake of example". So I agree, no big deal, because you didn't do that good of a job at educating people. P.S. Here are a few extra common and useful abbreviations that come from Latin: Starting with P.S., which is short for "post scriptum", meaning after what's been written. Q.E.D. is short for "quod erat demonstrandum", which translates to "that which was to be demonstrated". M.O. is short for "modus operandi", which means method of operating. A.M. and P.M., short for "ante meridiem" and "post meridiem" respectively, which is literally before midday and after midday respectively. P.P.S. (The extra "P" is just another "post", i.e., after-after) Fun fact, R.I.P. is an interesting acronym because it comes from Latin, but it's been sort of double shortened. What I mean by that is that the original Latin is "requiescat in pace", which literally translates to "may he/she rest in peace". We kind of dropped the grammar/verb conjugation in it by losing the "may he/she" in translation.

For note "Organic Farming" isn't the old ways. It's a marketing term. That's why despite the fact they claim organic means practices used prior to X date, radiation gardening and BT bacteria are "organic" practices.
