I still get confused with “semi.” I just say “every other week” or “twice a week” 😅

But if "semiweekly" DEFINITELY means "every half-week", then "biweekly" MUST mean "every two weeks". Checkmate.

“Sorry, but I don’t that sorry” 😂 that really got the Essenes of this lesson across.

Trouble is, "semi" also has the connotation of "somewhat" or "every once in a while".

wait... all that and we didn't get biannual vs biennial?

Uh I always thought three times a year counts as semi-annual 😅 Then again, "this Tuesday" still confuses me. If today is Thursday, some folks use "this Tuesday" to mean the past tense "two days ago", other folks mean "Tuesday of next week" or even "the Tuesday following that". I always end up asking for clarification.

Fortnightly or twice a week. Semi is also confusing! "We're.... semi weekly?" (Sometimes or half the time we're weekly)

This might be fun to try -- just to see that blank stare for a second and a half while someone remembers what "fortnight" actually means.

@@P_Ezi Never understood why Fortnite was called that, was the original mode a 14 day cycle or something? Or is it just like we need a work about building forts?

@@JohnGottschalk I do know that fortnight literally means fourteen nights, or two weeks. I think there may have been a game mode in Fortnite where there is a 2 week period to accomplish something.

Same issue with bimonthly. People confuse it with semimonthly
