I'm a figure skating fan making videos analyzing and celebrating this beautiful sport! My goal is to help everyone understand how figure skating works and help spread awareness for our sport. I think that figure skating should be accessible to fans new and old, and I want to promote positive, constructive analysis of the sport and its judging.
I became a fan in 2014 after watching Yuna's performances in Sochi, and now I mainly follow Yuzuru and ladies' skating, especially the Russian, Japanese, and Korean skaters. Feel free to subscribe if you like my content!

IT's crazy how it keeps evolving, since only 2 years ago in 2022, Ilia Malinin landed the first successful Quad Axel in the olympics!
Tonya’s 3A in the 91 Skate America long program (in the white costume) still sends shivers down my spine
6:08 this should be a broken leg sit, but kamila’s legs are so long that it’s most likely really uncomfortable
it's always the casuals that make a REALLY big fuss about it. Those who skated and can dojumps know that this is a natural thing and the expected techniques are there to be chased when doing quads or the hard triples. I can do all the doubles except for the axel (can do a delayed one though) and I am amazed how these fans who clearly did not skated one day in their entire life trying to teach me a lesson.
Excellent video. However, when you describe the skate blade with and inside and outside edge, the blades are concave, not hollow. Hollow means empty, like a beach ball is hollow.
6:50 no words, simply the best
Shawn Sawyer would be a great addition to this list.
They all still look about the same. Ho, hum on the head of those pins. Experts judge vintages; judges judge jumps. Onlookers, knowing little, will applaud just about any success. And drink the wine.
Ilia Malinin: 4A 4Lz + 1Eu + 3F 3Lz + 3A (at the end of free program). And it was the SAME program.
This takes so much control. I wish they would put it back into the required elements. So much more beautiful than all the jumps.
Made the mistake of trying to learn this by watching Medvedeva's jumps back in the day 😢
These judges are so full of crap. They ban these moves because they can't do them. What next? Ban birds for flying?
The Pamchenko twist already looked incredibly dangerous in 1992 film, ⛸️~The Cutting Edge~🥇. To see two people performing a move that is similar to that one during a televised competition is insane!!
this was super educational! thank you :)
The Biellmann spin is impressive but I don't find it aesthetically pleasing. Ditto the Charlotte spiral.
Cool channel ❤ thanks for the knowledge
What about the Hamill Camel?
i barely know anything about figure skating but i clicked cause i knew yuzu the goat would be in this video
Bring back laying on the ice please 🥺
The headbanger reminds me of blades of glory
Watching this which is not even related to me in any kind of such weeks before my final semester exam. GGs.
No but i do competitive skating and i once ended with a veronca which is basically an ending pose which is like sitting down, putting your hands back, and looking up. i still got first.
Only because a black female athlete did it on one foot FIRST.
Wrong. It's because the backflip and all somersault style jumps were banned in 76.
i swear yuzuru is just too perfect
Magnifico, excelente!
Denise Biellmann, Lucinda Ruh and Stephane Lambiell.....The BEST Spinners👑
Anyone interested in a clockwise community?
I have no idea, why those elements could be banned. No way they are dangerous... *sarcasm out* I dont wanna know the number of hurt or dead ppl, just because they tried it.
Art is art until idiots ruin it for the talented ones. So sad.
Wow. Your video is really informative and interesting. I will surely watch it anew, as I know very little of the beautiful sport, and will pay really more attention next time I appreciate the athletes on TV. Really well done.
Bring back the falling/lying on the ground. I love the drama & grace behind it!!
This is by far the best presentation of the different figure skating jumps I, as a layman but a skating fan since 1960 when the Olympics came to Squaw Valley. So, you know, double Axels were still a big deal. And now, boys and girls, we have Malinin and his quad Axels. Hanyu is still the GOAT. He started with excellent skills and amazing presentation. The latter seems to be in his blood. Then, as he grew stronger (I remember how he used to practically collapse after the FS when he reached senior level) he added the jumps, the technical difficulty. Nathan Chen and Malinin seem to have started with the jumps. Chen didn't and Malinin so far hasn't added the incredible transitions and expressive body language that Yuzuru had. Watch out for Siao Him Fa, one of the most creative skaters today. But I thought backflips were outlawed. (Remember Surya Bonaly?)
The second Kamila Valieva spin is called a broken leg variation; it’s relatively common.
30 years ago when I watched olympic figure skating with my mom no one was doing quadruple jumps....
They are only allowed if it’s in a concert
now, ilia malinin became the first person to land a 4A! made history on march 23, 2024!
The ISU is like: They’re doing what now??!! Okay Enough of these nonsense… please can you all just go back to normal skating 😑
LMAO at the second trick 🤣
LAN PİÇ BİGGİE SENİN BEN ANANI AVRADINU..... NEYSE ORUCUM DAHA FAZLA KONUŞMAYACAM SENŞN GŞBİ ŞİŞKO PİÇLERE NEYSE....... 2PAC 4EVER
I literally just learned to differentiate them by doing them in my room 💀 ballet dancers are weird beings i'm sorry
Why did you show Tonya Harding doing a triple axle???? She was the first American to do one.
Watching this made me feel so very small. Their talent, dedication and performance are out of this world. I know not much about FS, but I truly admire their dedication to perfection.
Queen Yuna👑
currently Kamila Valieva's Hyperextended Biellmann is the straightest and has the fastest speed.
Waw,this is science! I think I will never able to See the diffrents.figure skating is so impressiv.i really Want to understand what they are going through
Nothing is as beautiful as yuzuru's skating
2:55 i may be stupid but genuine question how do the ice skate blades not cut their shoulders? if they’re using their full body weight surely it would do SOMETHING?
You can lie down in comp I did and it didn’t deduct points and you can use props if it’s artistic
I could do the lying down on the ice one in probably the first 5 seconds of the program.
