Hi, I enjoy making Travel Vlogs and being creative with expressive Video Creation through ongoing experimentation. I particularly enjoy riding Heritage Buses and Train s and filming such. I also film local History videos with regard to where I grew up in Essex. I also dabble in Poetry too. The best to you all out there 👍😎

What a brilliant Vlog. Extremely interesting and very impressed with your co-host. Keep them coming.
The Cheque is in the post 😂
I used to work around there, it makes me want to go for a day out to The City.
One of my earliest friends from England lived in Daventry Green . Her father was a teacher , Mr . Lawrence .
@@eirlysseldon7834 thank you for posting your Harold Hill connection. I used to know a David Lawrence who was in the same class as myself at Quarles school back in the late 1960s.
@@RileysRamblesCentral Was he Welsh ?
@@eirlysseldon7834 not as far as I am aware. Quite a Harold Hillian I would say
@@RileysRamblesCentral his daughters were Ann and Kay ,they’d be in their early seventies now
Thank you so much for putting this interesting vlog out. It has been so informative. So much so, that I went and voted myself. At times while watching I was on the edge of my seat. I had to take a sedative on one occasion to calm down. I have also made an appointment with the doctor as I felt at times my heart racing, which did cause me concern. Please in future, can you issue a warning for those with heart conditions not to view unless they are watching with another party. So they may call an ambulance if required. Please keep these Vlog's coming. I can't wait for another election, please don't let it be five years.
@@ericgabbitas9044 😂😂😂😂. Don’t worry if you have any future health issues Eric the new Government will have you seen by a medical professional in no time. Glad you share my enthusiasm for a good old General Election Eric (even though I am not interested in Politics) . I recommend a pint of Timothy Taylor’s as a great medicine for controlling Blood pressure.
@@RileysRamblesCentral Thank you Dr Riley.
Lived in Tarnworth Road in 1952 left there in 1966 done all my schooling on the hill
I know that family in the first photo. It was taken in Poplar. The little girl wrapped in the blanket is my mother in law and still alive, the two girls in the pram are her sisters. Her.Mother is carrying her and her father is rhe ARP warden. The other lady is an aunt of the baby. We dont know who the little boy is.👍👍👍
Wow, I hope it was ok to use the photo Martin ? I lifted it from the Internet at random, thought it was a meaningful photo to fit in with the important story I was telling. Had you seen the photo before ? I guess it must have come as a bit of shock to encounter it. Best wishes Pete Riley 👍😎
Hi Pete, No problem with using the photo, it actually comes from a very short film with them walking down the street towards the camera. It has been used in books and videos about the blitz. We told the lady, my mother in law about it and she is the babe in arms in the photo. Sadly the two young girls in the pram, sisters of the baby, have both recently died, one in December and other one died only last week. As I said, nobody knows who the little boys was, there were 9 children in that family, but he is not one of them. I found out that the picture was taken on sept 8th 1940, the day after the first day of the Blitz. This is Poplar High Street. I was interested in your video, as I used to live in Romford and spent sometime in Harold Hill and knew people in that area. We had seen the photo before and we have a blown up photo in a frame in our house, I also found the video and slowed it down a bit, as it is short and added some poignant music to it. It was a pleasant surprise to see it on your video.
@@martinfey4134 thank you Martin. Thank you for sharing the very interesting back story to this photo taken on 8th Sept 1940 during the Blitz. I can see why this photo means a lot to you and your family. The photo now has an extra resonance for me. Being you have lived in Harold Hill you might be interested in a video I put together regarding Lady Neave’s newspaper account of the time, telling the story of day one of the Blitz (7th Sept 1940) AKA “Black Saturday”, as it hit her Dagnam Park Estate on Harold Hill and London. If you have not already seen it you will find it on my You Tube Channel. Cheers !
Only just viewed this masterpiece. Brilliant VLOG. COYO's. Maybe next time i can accompany you.
Cheers Eric. A downside of Vlogging is that you don’t always take everything in around you, so would love to go on the Tour again and absorb more of the special experience but without the camera this time. So yes Eric we must plan a Tour together sometime in the future. 👍😎
Ride London classique is a really boring snorefest of a race, it's enough to put off UK watcher's of cycling forever.
I was there! I spent September 1971 in London visiting from the USA. I stayed at the Manor Court Hotel on Courtland Gardens and wished I could have stayed in London forever. ❤
Glad you enjoyed your visit to London, a great City. Best wishes from across the Pond ❤️
Sorry I couldn't make it this year. Still as exciting as ever. Great Vlog.
What a great day, my longest ride unassisted (e bike)
Yes it was, well done on your acheivment and all for a great cause 😎👍
I lived on the Hill in Cypress Road in a prefab. They were knocked down & we were moved to Hainault.
I feel they served a very great purpose at the time. Thank you for your feedback 👍
I was a pupil at harrowfields boys from 1963 till 1966 memory's
I maintained the BT telephone system there ( 2005-). Also worked in the Duckwood pub as a teenager. Now also demolished). Lived in Priory Grove.
Now crime ravaged and escalating stabbings.
I went here in 2010 shame it's gone
I was there,Highlights America 'Horse with no name'and The Who.
Just had another look at this…. 6 years ago!
Great video Riley! We're glad you enjoyed!

Wowww what a set up absolutely amazing and what wonderful music 😂
Yep couldnt agree more 😊😏
@@RileysRamblesCentral 😊👍😊
Good video but not so sure about using Fulham’s music though
Thanks for viewing my video Jim. Is that “London Calling” you referring to ? Not familiar with Fulham’s Anthems.
@@RileysRamblesCentral yes - it is their version of Tijuana Taxi.
@@jimpackard8059 cheers, didn’t know that. Great song to get pulse racing at a game. We have used Tijuana since 1968 apparently with a brief interlude when Barry Hearn changed it to “we will rock you” by Queen - the fans revolted 😎
Come on you mighty Os ⚽️⭐️
Great video thank you.
Your very welcome Phillip 👍😎
Lovely video Riley - very much enjoyed that. Up the mighty Orient! All the way from Australia...
Wow so pleased the vibe has reached Oz 😀. Glad you enjoyed Steve, up the mighty O’s 😎👍
Epic! Riley you are awesome.
So glad you enjoyed this tour. You looked chuffed to bits coming out of the tunnel.😛
Yes I was Lynne, overcome by the moment 😊😊😊

Thanks Riley - we enjoyed your video and the tour
Thanks very much Linda ! The Tour was brilliant 😎😀
That looked a great day out, I liked the shot with the sun coming through the statue very artistic and I WANT THE CAT!!!!!! 😂 I hold for a couple of seconds on information posters so that those that want to can pause the vid and read them 😊
Aww thanks Matilda. Much appreciate the feedback. I will let you into a couple of my editing secrets 😉 on that video. To get the front view of the statue I couldn’t avoid the sun, so I thought it was a gamble taking the shot. But hey it paid off, glad you spotted my skills 😂. As for the cat. I wanted to break the footage up with something unusual and I thought of the Coronation street Tv cat. That actual cat I’m afraid doesn’t hail from Brisbane road but from stock footage I have on my Editing package program.
Sorry to finish……. Yeah it’s so much fun with the edit, I love to cat too, think it actually works 😀😀
@@RileysRamblesCentral The cat is stunning, I think the vid is well put together well done 😊
We moved to Petersfield Avenue in 1951 when I was 4 years old ,I remained there until I got married and moved away in 1968 . Mum & Dad lived there until 1989 , it truly was a great place to grow up what with playing in the woods in Leamington road and going over the Manor fishing either in the Carp lake or the lilly pond which was in front of the old house,it was knocked down by that time but the debris remained there. I can honestly look back on a very happy childhood .
Very enjoyable Vlog. Some quality buses on show . Never seen the layout of that RLH low height effort before. I think i might struggle riding on that one.
Thanks Eric. Yes even I was nearly touching my head on the ceiling of the RHL 😎
Mr Norris was wonderful, i had him at Albany School, a lovely man. I also went to Quarles in 90 s, pre services course. PT Brooks was a beast, a good one. I got expelled for foing donunts in the snow covered rear car park. Good times
This must the omnibus edition of Riley’s Rambles!
Drooooooole lol
I enjoyed this event. SMA8 was my chosen vehicle to ride upon

I like the set up of this video I enjoyed watching it 😊
Aww thanks Matilda. Thanks for taking the time to view it, it means a lot to me. 👍😎🚴
@@RileysRamblesCentral no worries it was good 😊
I have a whole video reel marked “Eric” . I have to use it sparingly as to unleash too much “Eric” on the You Tube Public would be madness. 😂. More “Eric” will appear on future episodes as and when. The last version had a spelling mistake and also i was not happy with some of the text I had written, so some small adjustments had to be made. Good day. 😉
Thank you for your reply. Obviously I respect your decision. Maybe the world is not ready yet for too much Eric. However I believe my time will come. 😀👍🥦
I thought, obviously incorrectly. The reason for these extra versions, was to add more clips of Eric Gabbitas. This does not seem to be the case.
Fond memories of my time at Quarles. 1958-1963. I remember my first day at 'Big School' and my first encounter with GW (George) Laws. A inspirational talk to the new boys at assembly. A shame to see the old school in such a state.
I have fond memories of walking or biking through the woods to the Manor to collect holly and mistletoe for Christmas decorations. We lived at Newbury Walk and we left for Canada. (1950-1964)
Pleased my video stirred up such great memories for you. If you have not already seen them, I have several other videos abt the Manor/Harold Hill on my Channel Riley’s Rambles. I plan to do more 👍😎
My parents were settlers (1949) Newbury Walk and attended St Ursula on Straight Rd. We left in 1964 for Canada. Fond memories.
I guess one of the Originals, 1949. Thanks for viewing from Canada 😎👍
My dad attended in the early 60s I believe. He lost contact with his brother who also attended Timothy Charles Smith. Would anyone recall the family or Timothy?
Actually I vaguely remember a Tim Smith in my year at Quarles, I am 68 years now but did not know him that well. If you wish to reach a much wider audience with your enquiry I strongly recommend that you join the Facebook group called “Harold Hill RM3 (memories of yesterday)”.
@@RileysRamblesCentral Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.
