Great atmosphere Pete. I wish I knew why I find old buses so exciting. Especially the RT and STL. Shame I didn't join you.

RIP All those old bus numbers and routes. The 66A, 174, 87, 247a, 247 ( to Brentwood via Warley). Some, only a few, may be running over the same route with the same number. Peter, do you remember the 78 that took us to Peckem via Tower Bridge and the Old Kent Road -- I think its one that still does.

Sorry Brian don’t have any memories of going to Peckham by Bus, too distant for my memory.

Brian .i can remember 😅rm1 when on trials. B4 I started primary school. It came. Along leigham Court Rd then left two Crown Point. My mum didn't kno❤❤and ❤said it was a special one. Then they made it on to rts 3 + 137 which took me and a friend 2 skool. I can empathise with the guy who said he lost the thread once they brought 😅out newer types .A++ 4 grt video.

Oh the days when buses did nt coming in convoys due to cronic conjestion.

Did you ever meet the 53 or 177 from Woolwich up to town before the A102M was built? Buses were stuck in traffic for so long that they were often at locations they ought to have been passing on the next journey!! I've still got a very faded clipping from the defunct Kentish Independent with a photo of three RTs, one after the other, running down Shrewsbury Lane on the old 192. The route was theoretically a 20min headway, but 2hr gaps in the service were far from unknown. NX had a nasty habit of pinching buses to shore up the more important 177 when it's buses were AWOL somewhere in the gridlock! That went on until the (by then) MD operated 53 and 192 were transferred to the new PD garage. Ooh look ... RM5 .... That was once a NX resident and worked the 53.
