Ah man. I love the enthusiasm and how invested you international guys are in Comrades. I ran this last year (23) as my down run, 6 years after my up finish. I really hope you are back on Sunday for your up run and back to back medal.

How do you deal with spiders and spiderwebs? I don't mind them really, but now in Spring there are everywhere and I get them on my face every 50meters lol! Running with my hand before my head is not enough

Can't wait to see both you and Ben back this year! My prayers are with you both! As I've stated before, I've done 11 Comrades' and it is just beyond words! It is the most satisfying, after getting twins, thing I've done in my live! Just an amazing experience and the most thrilling, heart throbbing, goose-bums and emotional experience a runner, or anybody for that matter, can have!!! The back to back medal, a relatively new addition, is something to go for, off coerce, but the green number in Comrades is the ultimate thing to do! It gives you a "permanent" number, meaning a number for this race, that belongs to you and will not be given to another person. Mine is 31166. Hope you do that one day! By the way, this year will, if all goes well, see a runner run his 50th Comrades, all consecutively done!!! What a feat!!!!!!!! Search : Barry Holland ! My favourite runner, and as far as I'm concerned, the best ladies ultra runner in the world, is Gerda Steyn from South Africa. Go Gerda!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Best runner at Comrades I'll say is a guy called Allan Rob, search him as well. He's run 30-plus Comrades runs with an average time across all his runs of 7h42-ish if I can remember correctly! What a runner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
