Running an Ultra with my Best Friend! 35 Miles on the Jubilee Greenway in London
Спорт
I've always wanted to run one of the long distance walking routes around London so last weekend my friend Vickie and I got up early to give the Jubilee Greenway a go! We ran the "FKT route" which was 35 miles/56km. In this video I talk a bit about the course, how we fuelled the run and show you some of the lovely sights along the way. Enjoy!

What a great video and a run/route that I am envious of - great stuff
Amazing, Sarah, well done 👍🏼
Great video again Sarah. Awesome run looks amazing venue. 😎
Awesome Run in the cold!! I always enjoy yours and Ben’s runs around London. What an awesome place to run. Stay warm!!
Just found your channel and your enthusiasm is so infectious! Also I really like how you produce your videos, extra info but without droning on or anything 😁
Great film, well done you two and you have a great ultra CV. Best of luck for the year ahead .

Just discovered your channel and had to comment (which I never usually do!) to say how great your videos have been for me. I am starting the sloooow process of returning to running after nearly a year with hip fracture having been formerly a pretty tidy runner. The mental health impact of injury and being out has been harder to get over than the physical side and watching your videos has shown me the FUN and pure JOY in just running... because! Not pace, not placing, comparing myself etc. You’ve really made me feel like I can get back to loving it. Thank you! PS plus loads of awesome tips to boot! Peace! Roo x
Beautiful run. I love seeing the sites you see along the way. It definitely has inspired me to map out a long run route like this in my city

Well, done Sarah on your amazing runner, you are a true warrior. I'm reaching out here to pick your brain on few things, do you have ultra programme so share, then what is your favourite shoes + brand, type of sock + brand, top+brand (season Feb/march) = Planning to run my first Ultra 55km this summer. Part from my questions. I'm so grateful I came across your channel, you are sharing with us all tons of helpful info. Keep up the good work you, keep them coming, you are doing great. In advance thanks a million for given me feedback!!! (Btw maybe would be idea to do video about different type of shoes for different runs, (seasons) and socks and etc...?)
Thanks for sharing. Will look up this route next time we're in London. Looks ideal for a sightseeing run :) #tonyjamesrunning 👍

That was inspiring to say the least. I just have one question. Where is the sweat? No huffing and puffing at all! I feel envious. It's like you guys were glowing all the time!
Love this Sarah. Curious to know if you kept all the layers on? I run in shorts all year round even in snow. As long as my top half is warm I’m ok.
Hi Sarah, love your channel! I’m training for my first half marathon. I was just wondering if you have any products as far as skin care and self care that you can recommend. My skin seems to be more dry now that I’m out in the elements more often, especially my feet. Are there any foot creams or treatments you use to maintain smooth feet? My husband is a runner also and he says that it’s just runners feet but I haven’t given up hope that I can still have soft, feminine feet ☺️ thanks! Can’t wait for your next video.
It amazes me you can just up and run 35 miles. Your fitness levels must be so high. I did 10 miles at the weekend, I felt rough at the end and really dehydrated. Impressed

Something weirdly coincidental. I watched this on Friday now get just gone and then I was struggling up Pitchfont hill on NDW that s morning and a cheery runner said hi and am pretty sure it was yourself Sarah ? ( or your double) with your friend. I was too knackered to say anything but hi back as I was on a 23 mile run and it had just got a bit tougher 😂 ....am trying to get fit for NDW 50 in May 😅 My wife had dropped me at Reigate and I was running to Knockholt and then home... I survived !
Congratulations for getting a place in utmb👍

Hi, I done my first 50k ultra a few weeks ago. Got serpent trail race later this year. Anyone got any training plans they can share?
Sounds like a stupid question, but as someone who has just started dipping into the 15k range i'm not sure how my shoes/feet should feel. (as in, do my feet hurt because of inexperience or are my shoes not a good fit) Do you have any tips on finding the right shoes for longer distances or is it a costly trial and error job?
Other than Centurion who else do you recommend for trail runs? Is there a website with them all on? Thanks in advance.
make a video about running shoes... whic one is best for you
You said you had the directions on your watch. What watch do you use and do you link it to your headphones?

hey debra- i have the garmin 945 which has full colour maps so can load a course on there and it shows where to go. it's so handy for stuff like this!
I've been eyeing up some FKTs near me which seem achievable. Reckon it's worth doing a reccy first rather than attempting it on the first try?
@SarahPlace
3 жыл бұрын
i mean it depends what the route is like, something like this which isn't marked too obviously and goes through a lot of parks which are closed at certain times i'd always want to recce first as it would just streamline the day so much more but if it's a fairly straightforward route that is well marked or that you know well with no gates or possible diversions then by all means go for it!
