Repairing, Accessorizing & Custom Restoring of ATVs, SideXSides & Dirt Bikes
We work with what we have around the shop & don’t always have access to all the machines/tools so sometimes we make it up as we go! Our way may not be your way but it works for us with what we have available!
Aside from Off Road Builds & Repairs we are working on a more self sufficient lifestyle & share our homestead DIY builds such as our homemade ATV Log Hauler, Rocket Stove & Off Grid Wood Fired Hot Tub. We will also post homestead chores like hauling & processing firewood, raising meat birds/laying hens & other tasks/projects we create around our property!
Exploring Cape Breton is something we love doing. We plan to dedicate more time & videos to doing some overnight & multi day ATV excursions and van camping in the future.

Good job getting that stripped down Jen! You guys see so many uses for the stuff you have available to you! Beautiful view you have!
Thank you! We try to reuse anything we can to keep costs down on all our projects! It is indeed a beautiful view!
I can’t wait to see her Raptor all finished!
It’s getting close!! 🎉
This fix did absolutely nothing for my gs5000. Great idea but Craftsman screwed up with this lawn mower. Like riding and steering an old 1976 Ford Pinto with no power steering.
😂 love that reference!
Persistence pays off! Hopefully she’ll root and look good in your yard! Boy it’s muddy after all that snow melted. Take care!
It was a well fought battle with nature 😂 So much mud indeed! Hopefully the pigs will enjoy it when they arrive!
What year is that van and did the starter still crank with the bad fuse?
2008 Chevy Express 1500….The starter did not crank on this van, the lights would flash on the dash when the key was turned but no cranking or attempt to start
@@MacCustoms Thanks a lot!
@sunstatehvac9845 hope it solves your issues!!
Adorable! 🐣
They are! But they grow so fast!
You sir are incredible at what you do!
☺️ much appreciated
You can also drill a hole in the foot brake in a different slightly lower position and run the spring from the detent down to there to have the spring actually pull on the detent so it unlocks it out of gear.
That would probably help in some cases! With the machine we had for the video it wouldn’t have had any resolve because we had to clean the switch because it was all gummed up but I will defiantly keep this trick in mind! Thanks for sharing!!

Hey do you work on dirtbikes to ?
😂 misjudged the edge a little this time! It went very smoothly getting it out especially with that heavy wet mud in there! I love how you guys do everything with stuff you have available and that trailer & crane are so useful!
It’s not often he misjudges where the trailer is! 😂 I was also surprised that it went that smooth to get it out! The log trailer is probably one of the best things we built (along with the wood fired hot tub!!) thanks for supporting our channel we appreciate your comments!
OMG... I thought I was watching a Comedy Video. FYI... they still make Plastic Pipe & Shovels! Yep the pole is still there. 🤣
Just wondering what plastic pipe and shovels would have accomplished?
Fair question! lol
😂
I’m thinking the shovel part was referring to Ry using a stick to remove the mud up front 😂 that was just utilizing a stick being on the ground there rather then going out back to get the shovel 😝
@@MacCustoms Just Kidding. I can see me doing the same things. Trying to make do with what you have and get 'er done.
My girls most recent was prettttyyyyy close… lmao
That’s wild!!! Was it loud AF also?! Lol
@@MacCustoms she was about 1/4”-5/16” of the way through the first face of the rotor hahahaha
@beatwrecker7343 wild! Lol
Lmao looks like a new e axel
😂
Can’t say I’ve ever seen any this bad!
Neither have we! 😳
Hey bud in the big boy logging industry we make skid row out of old logs that aren't so useful to cross swamps back in my day just lay a bunch of those willows you keep driving over as a bridge
Good luck nice trailer an hello from alaska
The ultimate goal would be to get it draining and get that spot levelled out but a log bridge may be the solution for the time being!
Thanks! So cool to know where our viewers are from!!
watch your long hair around any spinning things in the shop. No fun when a chunk of hair get twisted up in the drill chuck. Stay safe.
You are right! That would be horrible to have happen!
@@MacCustoms All to common
Can’t believe how easy he pulled that root out, that trailer is a great thing to have! I was sure he was going to land in that water 🤣
The log trailer is probably the most useful piece of equipment we have! There are not many projects around here that the trailer isn’t used on!
Did you use weld thru primer ?
I didn’t use that but you defiantly could. I usually use white coat metal so it takes longer to rust other then where the welds are
Good instructional video thanks and sounded like you had a great camera woman great job
Thank you for checking out our video(s)! We appreciate the support!
It is always interesting to see the new projects you have going on. I enjoy your channel.
Thank you so much for the support! 😊 we love being able to share what we do with other!
Looks like a solid and heavy duty enclosure! That crane sure comes in handy! Hope you guys don’t end up with too much snow
We are hoping it works well 🤞🏻 The crane and log trailer make life so much easier! Ww are also hoping we don’t receive much/any snow 🙂
Oh beautiful Easter Chickens they will lay Easter eggs for all to enjoy!
We are thinking/hoping 🤞🏻 we have mostly females in this hatch!
Happy Easter you two! The chicks are adorable! Pretty wild to watch them bust out of the shells and stagger around! 🐣
Happy Easter to you and yours as well! We love hatching chick it’s defiantly something cool to watch!
nice job guys!
Thanks! It was an awesome diy project!
You have some skills and i like your videos I just wish you had better audio
I didn’t have any issues with sound in this video 🤔
Thank you we appreciate the support! We also noticed an audio issue when we viewed the video on a laptop through KZread website but not when we viewed it on a mobile device via the KZread app. We will have to look into that!
Odd! We’ve both had and didn’t have audio issues depending on what we viewed the video on
Anybody of thinking of using the grease method, you can buy M10 x 1.25 grease nipples that fit in the banjo hole. Messy job but it does the trick
Good to know!!
Thank you, I had the same problem
You are very welcome! Hope the video helped!
2 tonne or 5 tonne puller?
@donmeca69 I’m not too sure actually 😂 just happened to have this puller kicking around
what jbl speaker is that and how did you mount it to the machine
I’m not too sure about the speaker. It was purchased and put in there by the owner of the machine
Which wires did you connect to under hood? I have the same wiring harness, but it being a 3 wire connection it throwing me off. Mine has a black, white, and blue wire on the switch side. Did you hook up all three to the factory ran wires under the hood or just two?
Did you have a problem with condensation? I built something similar, and have lot of condensation dripping into coals.
This is not an issue we had come across! Is your coil metal all the way into the tub or does it go from metal in the burn area to plastic lines into the tub? Not sure if that would make a difference but ours are plastic lines coming from the tub to the copper coil on the bottom intake line and then copper coil to plastic lines on the top input
@@MacCustoms copper coils inside burn barrel.
@armandniosi7657 ours is an exposed coil currently but even when we did have it inside a burn barrel we hadn’t noticed any condensation issue. Sorry we can’t offer any suggestions as it wasn’t something we’ve come across
Hey guys! I don’t think winter is done with us yet but we’ll take what we can get ! 15c here in Eastern Ontario today and sunny. Feels good! Take care!
So jealous of you right now!! ☀️
Do you usually get more snow this late in the season? He took a good fall there, hope he’s okay!
We often do unfortunately. We had a storm April 18th a couple years ago 👎🏻
WELL THERE GOES MY PLANS OF CRASHIN YOUR HOT TUB PARTY!!!
😂 so surprised that the fix held up!
Dudes geeking
😂
Can you add make/model of light and where they were sourced from? Thanks!
The particular set used on this machine are no longer available. I found a similar set on Amazon www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B07JD8P1VV?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
So good to see a video from you guys,, good work on his one ,, nothing worthwhile is easy to accomplish , check on Tyler and Dobby if you would please? thankyou
Thank you! Tyler is doing well! He checked in with everyone today!
Thankyou for the response@@MacCustoms
Hey guys! Nice to see the snow going away! But I got to say mud sucks! Hate driving in it or walking the dogs in it! Take care and have a good week!
It was one of those “be careful what you wish for” we really wanted the snow gone but the mud isn’t much better 🤣🤣 hope you have an awesome week!!
Wow so much snow had melted in your yard! You guys are always lending an hand to someone!
The snow turned into mud 😂🫣 Always glad to help out and it’s hard to pass up free firewood!!
Could you recomment a dual wood and oil furnace? I'm in Nova Scotia
We aren’t certain what’s out there for wood oil combo furnaces, but from experience we are very happy with our Kerr products! They may offer what you are looking for!
@@MacCustoms I am just learning here. What is the advantage of wood boiler over a wood furnace?
It’s a learning process for sure! The primary difference between wood furnaces and wood boilers is the heat exchange medium. Furnaces use air and boilers use water. Our system has hot water radiators throughout the house as opposed to having hot air ducts! The wood boiler also allows you to heat your domestic hot water without an electric hot water heater! For the summer months instead of making a fire to shower or wash dishes we just put furnace oil in the tank and allow the oil furnace part of the system to heat the water.
Good camera work! Looks like a hard area to get a good view of!
Thank you! It was a very hard location to get a good camera view of!
Looks good
Thank you!
Happy belated Birthday Ryan...😊🎂🎉
Thank you very much!! 😃
Hey. Make sure you use a food safe tote. I think these people used one that held spray foam insulation liquid chemicals. Dont do that. There are tonnes of food safe totes out there.
Yes indeed you want to be sure to know what was in the tote prior to converting them! Ours is a food grade tote; ours contained cornmeal prior to the reuse; we also recommend paying the extra for the ones already cleaned as it took us HOURS of cleaning and scrubbing to get it clean and disinfected!
@@MacCustoms so glad to hear. I was worried for a minute.
What a fantastic set up! You guys seem to know a lot about living efficiently! I bet it’s very economical to have the wood heat your home and garage compared to heating with natural gas or oil!
This setup is outstanding! We could not be happier with the decision to get the Kerr Wood Boiler! We do our best to live economically and efficiently so we don’t have to stress about raising heating costs
Hi guys from Boulter Ontario! We’ve had really mild temperatures the last few days. Losing a lot of snow! Bad snowmobile season! No shortage of snow where you are! Wow! Take care!
Cape Breton has been a snowmobiling paradise this year for sure!! We are due for some heavy rains in the near future however, 30-50mm🫣With that we are expecting a lot of flooding to happen
Hope the flooding doesn’t happen or at the very least it’s miner.@@MacCustoms
@user-bk1kk9tl9b 🤞🏻🤞🏻 hoping we don’t get as much as forecasted!
Yes you got the bike out! More fun in the snow. Good exercise too!
Yes we got the old beast out since the last video! Time to put it back to work making a path so we are able to haul wood to the garage!
Hi Good Day do u see tyler and Dobby? If so how are they doing?
We haven’t seen him in quite some time now
If you are a patreon member there have been two videos. Short but they sound like they are doing well.
@@MacCustoms ok thanks much
I remember when I was a kid there was always one guy who would tow kids around in my area. He'd hook 6 or 7 wooden toboggans behind his car and go, so dangerous and so much fun! PS, looks like I'm moving back to NS in April. Maybe I could help you with audio or make a few videos if you want. I also watch your friend's videos Tyler & Dobby
That sounds like such a good time!
I have an idiot brother in-law just like this!
😂😂
