Fisher's Shop is a clean family friendly channel!
"I have a humble little wood working shop in my basement where I have been having a ridiculously large amount of fun. Not only am I having a blast making cool things and doing neat projects but I'm also creating new jigs and tools to help me make them! I'm kind of a goofy guy, so it's definitely NOT all business here on this channel. I like to put out a good product but I also like to have a lot of fun. So be sure to check out my videos, click that thumbs up, subscribe, and leave me a comment!" - Drew

Can I ship you mine?
Nope. Lol
Well done! I am a scientist with well over 50 years of professional experience. Your methodology was quite good and clear. The only issue I have with it is that for a real scientific conclusion you need to do at least 3 measurements for each set-up. Then use those 4x3 measurements to get error bars. Error bars will tell you if your conclusions are real or within the margin of error. I also have a comment. I am retired and love woodworking. However my nemeses is wood dust in the air. A little calculation reveals the following: your 5 cuts results in .92 ounces (26.1 grams) of wood chips and dust. At 96% this means that the amount of wood not captured by you device is .04x.92 = .036 ounces (1 gram). Now let’s assume that 90% of this uncaptured wood is wood chips but 10% is wood dust. So we have 0.1 gram of wood dust for every 5 cuts of a 2x4. This wood dust goes into the air you breath. Now let’s assume that in a project you do the equivalent of 100 cuts. That means that 20x.1 = 2 grams of wood dust goes up in the air. All of this dust from just one (small) project is is in the air ready to go into your lungs or settle on your tools and workshop surfaces. Do this a few times and it adds up quickly. My point is that 96% capture is impressive but overall still not that good. If you instead captured 99.6% of the wood you would have 0.2 grams of wood dust in the project. Much more acceptable. Unfortunately capturing 99.6% of the wood is an extremely difficult, if not impossible, task.
I have so many of your plans I need to build, already bought them just need to take the time to build them. My shop is 10x16 so we shall see if I can get it set up as efficiently as yours. Loved the content my friend.
Thanks a bunch! Have fun with the builds!
I wish I used every inch of my shop as well as you do!
Thanks
I built your flip top work station several years ago. It has been a tremendous asset in my micro shop. Thanks for what you do.
Glad to hear it's worked out for you! Thanks for watching
Amazing job.
Thanks!
The first reusable pushstick! Great design. Happy to bring you to 7k.
Glad you liked it
Lovely job..
Thank you! 😊
Do you do custom work? Pretty easy job I’d think. Pour a box of epoxy, use the CNC router to carve out an image and maybe some text, fill with a different color epoxy, flatten out and ship.
I'm afraid I just don't have the time for commission work
Beautiful lecturn! Any chance you'll publish the plans on your plans page?
Nah, not for this. Not enough interest to make it worth while for me.
I was looking to buy one of this games since it’s the first time I see it, and found your video! It is amazing! Thanks for sharing your build, how it plays and the college website. I was able to find it. Once again, thank you. You can definitely add a subscriber! 🤝🏻
Glad I could help!
Wow man even hearing the tribute of how the Lord changed your dad and how he saw his affliction as a blessing what a testimony. I’ll be glad to meet you and your father in heaven. With our lord and savior Jesus Christ the alpha and omega. Every knee will bow every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord over heaven and earth and under the earth.
Thanks! See ya there
interesting project- love the bloopers!
Glad you enjoyed it
does anyone know what brand of drawer slides are used here?
Blum
all i can say is WOW! Love it!
Glad you enjoyed it
thanks for the video man. Real nice. I will try this out. It is beautiful
Have fun!
Echoing all that was said before - the design, your teaching style, the humor, the professional a/v - bravo! I'm going to try your method to make some serving trays with curved handles similar to one I found in Wood Magazine but with the handles made from woven wood like yours. Thanks for the lessons and the entertainment!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Brilliant and entertaining video. I hope your neighbor figured out what was wrong with his car radio.
I bought your plans for the miter saw stand because I bought the same model saw right before your video came out about the stand. I didn't build it until about 6 months ago but it's my favorite mobile station in the garage. Everyone else recommends a static miter saw station but I love having the moving cart instead with the folding T track stops
Nice! Yeah, I love my miter stand. It's nice being able to roll it around and out of the way when I need to.
Super awesome
Thanks
Amazing how you squeezed all that stuff into such a small space, and have it so well organized. Aside from the wall hanging fire extinguisher, do you have any type of automatic fire suppression in your shop? If not, something to consider since this shop is part of your house.
Nope nothing automated but I have an extinguisher mounted in there.
@@FishersShop Yeah. I saw the one fire extinguisher hanging on the wall. An automatic fire suppression system is something to consider just for extra safety and peace of mind. Love your vids. Love your craftsmanship. Love your sense of humor.
Thank you for the great tour. I see the super cell as my dream dust collector that could be used for everything. But why do you have so many tool specific collectors when you have the supercell? Really appreciated the bloopers at the end. I can relate so much!
Because I don’t have room to plumb the shop and use blast gates. The way I have it is all automated.
@@FishersShop thank you for taking the time to reply!
Well worth a like and subscribe! 😊
Welcome aboard!
Not trying to be like your wrong, but where do you find the helical replacements that are cheaper than straight knives? Everywhere I’ve seen is very expensive, would love to know a cheaper alternative?
Remember the inserts can be rotated so one set of inserts is like 4 sets of knives.
@@FishersShop yes, that is correct. That’s one of the best benefits of them.
Great video as always, Drew~! You really maximize the space you have there. I definitely need to take a page from your book's organization chapter. I'll also be relooking at my dumping of sawdust into the woodline of my yard. I have a pool too, for Pete's sake~! LOL
Hah. Thanks for watching!
Question. Why did you attempt to drill a hole with a regular drill bit? Why not use a forstner bit? Hole would be straighter and smoother
Way too big
Been a big fan of your channel for years now. You did a hell of a job setting up all the equip in such a small space. Thanks for all the great humor and content.
I appreciate that!
Uh, I'm glad I'm not your neighbor! But at least I'd know where to go looking for all my missing crap... "Hon, have you seen the front door???"
😉
Your content got my 'like'. Your outtakes got my sub! Nice to know even the pros make mistakes, but know it's not the end of the world.
Much appreciated!
AWESOME shop tour Drew! Thanks for sharing. “They were right, it broke…and I had to change my pants !” 🤣🤣🤣☠️ ALWAYS learning & LAUGHING with this channel. Oh yea… was hoping you’d mention your neighbor.. once again. Didn’t disappoint!
Thanks 👍
Sir, Can you share the board cutting measurements.. I wish to build it thank you 😄
Buy the plans. They’re only $5
Nice job, not Job. Hehehe Your Outtakes are the best on YT. Fancy Points, Fart sounds, I love it.
Hehe thanks
Save time on blade clean up, oven cleaner with lye(sodium hydroxide)
This is the jig I've been looking for! Great build sir!
Glad you like it! Check out the better version of it in my ultimate table saw jig videos.
i'm sold, buying a machine soon, just wondering if think the machine with the water reservoir is nessasary, did you experience much heat on the tooth when grinding, best review i have seen on this machine. Thank you for doing
The one I bought didn't offer that but I didn't experience any issues without it. It would have been nice to have it though since the water would keep the carbide dust from getting into the air.
I'm so very jealous....Dan Burgoyne
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching
Beautiful !!!
Thank you!
