Hello my name is Greg and I like building stuff. Welcome to my channel Midlife Customs.
I post videos of various projects (working on cars and trucks/DIY videos/acting clips) and share them with you. Hopefully you will find them entertaining and/or informational.
Ever since I was a kid I have enjoyed building stuff or putting things back together again. I am self taught and work on these projects, including these videos, mostly by myself. My brother is pretty good at lending a hand if I need it. Thanks Bro, lol. Please take a moment to look around and don't forget to hit subscribe and click the bell icon to catch future videos. Thanks for visiting. kzread.info

excellent tutorial without drama and side stories
@guyrini3777 Thank you
What type of Lubricant do you use?
@vinnyc.1265 I used a couple of drops of tool oil I had
This is exactly how a tutorial video should be! Slow, great explanation and good up close imaging of what you’re doing! So many people have the camera so far away that you really can’t see what they’re doing, to understand what they’re doing! Thanks for a great video!
@RicheySynthetics thank you for the kind words
great tutorial
@user-ne7qv5gt3k thank you
Just try it it's easy, then the alarm will sound like your being shot at, because u r
Sweet deal like Shaquille O'Neal! Very easy, thank you.
@GabrielOrtizUAP Thank you
Excellent video dude. Thanks
@bigbooyig Thank you
Are these fittings suitable for power steering high pressure lines?
@matthewbentley2308 I am not sure. If you are able to, ask the manufacturers you are going to get them from. Good luck
Great Video!!
@RaymondLeblanc-mx1yd thanks
Used to install roof racks during the 70's. It still have mine that is just like that. It's like a step bit was called uni-bit in 71 when I bought mine. Same on auto-adjust vice grips and SnapOn hand impact needed for motorcycle side covers as 60's Phillips screws! Thanks for the video
@deankay4434 Tanks for the comments and sharing your knowledge. Hope you are enjoying retirement.
They use a hydraulic version of this at the dealership. Having too much sticker out on OP-1 or uneven cut would cause a larger end the fitting may not go over. Clean & taper the inside of the cut tubing and make sure it is square. Thanks for the video!
Some brands or so called experts say to leave 1/8th" between to two fittings. Are the using a different brand of fittings? I am quickly loosing track of brands and right v wrong. This build is mine, kinda want it right. Thanks for video!
Many -AN fitting companies do not allow use of another companies hose, or so they say. I fixed vehicles with factory parts at dealers so this is all new. I watched the videos and have tools already. Have you run across hose issues? I plan on woven hose on fuel supply & return on my LS family engine. Thanks! Retire, ASE Master.
No o rings?
@fartgun6024 No o rings
Perfect explanation! BEST video on this product to date. Thank-you!
@JosephSmith72 thanks for the kind words
well that explains my my engine got a slight miss fire at idle
@ryan9123 I hope it helped
Thanks
@johnpeerless52 Thank you
I heard some say you need teflon tape? I been looking at a transmission cooler on amazon and it comes with AN fittings. Some reviews say the fittings need teflon/plumbers tape. I wonder if it also means I have to put an fittings on my factory transmission lines too?
@Soldier1287 AN fittings don't usually use teflon tape. You might be able to find a adapter fitting to go from the factory line fitting to the AN fitting on the transmission cooler.
When would you use AN Compression style fittings vs the flared end fittings?
@tekman05 Like I mentioned in the video. I only have used a compression fitting once. I usually flare all my lines.
Very, very good video. Very thorough and informative

@ta51503828 Thank you
..or your 90 can be a street 90 with a male and female.
Curious. I have this exact fittings and hose, was planning on replacing a hard steel hose thats on my rack and pinion, do you know if this style of an fittings and hose is rated for high pressure power steering? Thanks
@jordanboelter No, sorry I do not know the pressure rating.
Rack and pinion pressures run 400-600PSI, depending on the brand. Recirculating ball steering gear boxes run 800-1,200PSI and low pressure return is under 20PSI. DK, ASE Master tech since 78, retired.
Chevy and Ford have the best old pickup truck
@jimmyadams8667 I agree
I know I'm 3 years late. I'm currently installing new transmission lines for my 2007 mazda 6, ive gone through several fittings but keep leaking at 37⁰. Everything is snug, ive tried conical seals several times.. tried different brand AN fitting too 6AN is the size. Any advice? 😅
@andr3woc34 sorry to hear that. Nothing comes to mind. Good luck hope you figure it out 👍🏻

Good Job , I just got my first F150 1980 looking to do the same !
@clubblacksheep Thank you. Good luck on your project.
I have the same problem with my 1979 F150. I bought Amazon seals and I installed it on my passenger side and now you have to slam it and the door sticks out. I will be getting a pair from Dennis Carpenter. Nice bumpside!

What color white did you do on the top of the truck and bumpers?
@Krish6462 The white is a older factory Fiat color. I can't recall the actual name or code though.
Cool. Thanks for the reply.
