For me personally, it vibrates too much
in order to minimize the vibration, you have to place the top bar further away from the end. I placed mine right above the dashboard and vibration has ceased, even off road. Have a look at the video i showed my accessories that you can see what I did..best regards
Great video brother!
thanks for your comment!
Man, can I pay you a bottle of whiskey!? Seriously. You made the video of the century... I was totally freaking out I had to go to the dealer again and do 30km in first gear... And this is so simple! Today I had a feeling this started after I put the bike in the central stand and put the first gear to clean the chain with the water gun... So it was time to confirm. You made my day! Mine was error 126. Gear box got totally crazy and change more than first gear (DCT).
Never install heated grips directly to ECU. It might damage your system unit.
How does the wheel paint hold? Are there any scratches/paint chipping from using the metal levers?
If you use tire paste or detergent with soap you minimize the risk of scratching your wheel. Also you have to manage the tire lever in such a way to avoid pressing the outside part of the rim.But you can buy a rim protector to avoid the risk of scratching.
Translation may not be good. If you mean the front sprocket bolt (drive sprocket) the torque is 54Nm. The rear sprocket (driven sprocket ) is 100
Man! Doing this just for practice being familiar with this job if some flat tire happens during some trip then it is OK. But in general i will prefer to take out the wheels and leave some expert to do it in 10 minutes . Too much effort!!
Thanks for your comment. I totally agree with you on that. However, for more remote areas tire shops with equipment to deal with larger bikes are not easy to find. In that case, it is good to know that it is possible to fit and balance hard bead tires at home. best regards!
Removi as rodas e levei pra instalar e balancear. Acabei decidindo nao pegar versao Dakar, peguei a versao regular do Mitas 07 +, mandei colocar as camaras de ar heavy duty 3mm.
Abs!
O puxador de valvula e o bead breaker da motion pro eu tenho ja, so me faltaria as espatulas maiores.
Great video, only thing i would say is to never use a k&n filter, and if you do, never tighten them bit the nut, ive seen alot of them leak by there.
thanks for the tip! Best regards!
Nice trip and nice shoot! Congratulations!
Thanks for your comment! Best regards!
Nice trip my friend. Thank you for sharing it with us. Greetings from Greece
Thanks for your comment. all the best!
Great video! Just did the job myself - a question for anyone who did that also: I've changed bake pads two days ago and my rear brake disc is warm after every ride even though I don't use the rear brake before checking on it. So it's a general friction. Is it normal for the pads to constantly touch the disc after switching?
Maybe the material of the pads you installed doesn't dissipate heat..a bit of friction always happens and the disk will always remain a bit hot. it's important to make sure you use sintered pads otherwise it may overheat.
I am thinking about that tyre or the Karoo 4. I’m gonna buy at varella too.
Never tried karoo 4. Karoo 3 was one of the best tires I've tried, mainly considering the price mileage ratio. as it was made in Brazil, it was cheaper. Karoo 4 almost doubled the price. Nowadays it costs exactly the same as mitas but it lasts at least 2,5 times less.
Thank you my friend, your video helped me a lot, greetings from Mexico Guanajuato
Thanks for your comment! Best regard
I have a 2020 F850gs Adventure. I bought used and the factory navigation was not one of the options. Is plug prewired from factory even if the navigation wasn't an option. I was hoping to wire like your video, otherwise I will wire direct back to battery, with a switch on my bars to turn on and off.
you should be able to. best regards!
Pedindo agora👍🏼 Obs. Teu ingles é mto bom👏🏼 morou fora do Brasil? abraco e muito obrigado
obrigado! morei há muitos anos atrás, sim. abs!
Also have 1100 ATAS and find it so stupid to dismantle half of the bike because of just changing air filters 🙈
It's a pain in the backside. but you get used to it, specially because of the pros of the AT.
What a pain in the ass of a job especially haveing to remove crash bars and radiator guards ? Surely the japanese can make this more simple
Definitely one of the cons of the AT. but you get used to. best regards
Hi there, have you used heavy duty tube?
do you mean heavy duty grease?
@@MrLuk78 If you use heavy duty inner tubes in your tires
@@carvalhonjIn the rear tyre i've had fitted heidenau heavy duty. the front tyre is still the inner tube that came with the bike from the start. There's a recent video on the channel showing my recent tyre change . best regards!
@@MrLuk78 Nice! Do you know how thick it is? 2, 3, or 4mm Thanks
4mm.
Use brake cleaner spray, not carb cleaner which will degrade the brake piston seals. That stuff is bad on an rubber designed for brake fluid. its designed to dissolve old fuel and reacts badly with brake components. Use a smear of high temperature brake grease and not silicone grease on the bolts. Ask me why after it melts and coats the pads.
Thanks for your comment! Silicone grease is the one indicated in Honda servicing manual. Usually it's advised to be used in parts with contact with rubber, which is the case of the rear calipers bolts (not the front ones ). However, the industry always brings new solutions that withstand higher temperatures as it is the case o copper and lithium grease . I would not use copper grease as it conducts electricity, eventhough withstands higher temperatures. Not sure but I suppose silicone grease has a very high melting point. As for using a carb cleaner, it's a well know cheap solution (very common around here) for removing dust and debris from parts with orings, as it dissolves dirt without damaging rubber. Having said that, it's always better to use products specifically designed for a given purpose. But it always come at higher prices. Many mechanics even use querosene for cleaning up break calipers. best regards!
@MrLuk78 I saw that in the handbook too but have had unfortunate experience with silicone grease on brake pins before.
Thanks for your helpful input!
You waitedd long friendt...25dkm! My AT 2023 pats rear honda dealerschip told me to chance better soon , now 13700km have already like noticed to Push deeper for same braking ...i will let them do it - at the same time while they change TFT screen - warantie , if id changed patts myself , i´d woudend recomand grease on the boldts from the caliper do , would have more confidens in loctite!..😊
Thanks for sharing 🙏
The pattern of the front wheel is inverted .. 👀
Thanks for your comment.Yes, and it should be inverted . The tread pattern in the front tyre is supposed to help the bike to maximize breaking power. the front tyre pattern should always be on the opposite of wheel turning. Best regards
Good video! Please make a video on why you traded the GS on Africa Twin
thanks for your comment! I'll try to shoot a comparison video in the near future. Best regards!
Because the AT is better and not as expensive to maintain 😂
Gracias
Great job!
Thanks for your comment...! 👍🤣
What crash bars are you running?
It's made by a Brazilian manufacturer called motopoint.
Bons conselhos.
Obrigado pelo comentário.
Thank you!
Thanks for the interesting video. I have the same AfricaTwin like you also with a Garmin GPS. Are you still happy with the Garmin mountet on top? Is the Givi GPS holder stable or is it vibrating on the street?
thanks for your comment. As for your question , I' ve had the support for over a year (over 20000km) and so far it has stood up to the expectations. It is firm enough to withstand vibration on bumpy off road terrains with no problems. On the motorway it is absolutely fine too. It's only advised to change your windscreen to a taller one. best regards!
@@MrLuk78 I just saw tht you mountet the GPS in the middle of the mount and not on the top. I think that stabilize also.
I didn't think I was going to combine the useful with the pleasant. "MOTO + INGLES" congratulations my friend!
the best place to replace our tires. Varella. when you go back there send regards to Caio
Felicidades !
I think this video is about the Dakar version , because the regular E-07+ is not to bad in wet condition and is average to install . I totally agree that de Dakar is one of the hardest tire to mount and that is to hard for wet weather on tarmac .
It could be. Here in Brazil they they show dakar on the tyre but there are shops that still advertise as eo7 plus dakar. I believe they removed the dakar from the specifications. Here they sell e07 and e07 plus, which is the one i find a pain to break the bead. The hardest i've tried and close the impossible depending on the tools you have at hand. best regards
i only got 2760km on my stock set of E07 on 890 adventure R
Its the best mid and full size adventure bike tire you can get. If you can get it. Just don't get the Dakar version. The Dakar version sidewalls have zero flex and its impossible to mount...
Definitely right. Such a pain to get it removed from the well and not pinch the inner tube when mounting it back
Or are they dakar versions of the e07+, they have very hard sidewalls
the muitas e07 plus is a pain in the backside to remove from the well. Never again i'll do it.
i have this tyre on ktm 690 enduro on offroad iz sucs
There are better offroad tyres in the market such as metzler karoo but they don't withhold more than 5000km. considering mitas e07 + is a dual purpose tyre i think it does perform relatively well offroad in all types of terrains
metzeler 6days,mitas E10,pirelli mt21,dunlop D606 are enduro tyre
Thanks for your return. Have safe trips. From south of France.
thanks for your comment! Best regards.
Do the oil-plugs have magnets in them? What is the threat size of the plugs M12? Where can I get a copy of the service manual? I have an NT1100 with zero the same engine. Thank you.
No, as far as know The Bolt is not magnetized. At least I didn't see any metal particles on it. As for The manual, KZread can purchase the PDF from the net. Just try a Quick google and the options will show. The drain bolt is a 12mm one! Good luck with your new nt1100. Excelent bike! Best regards
@@MrLuk78 Thank you. I will order new plugs with magnets Beter save. Done that on all my bikes in the past and recently on my Valkyrie. For the manual I will check on the internet.
Hi, what glue did you use for thr grips please?
Hi! I used the glue provided with the grips, which was a type of super glue. But you can use any sort of rubber/plastic/silicon glue as the grip fits tightly. best regard!
Thanks 🎉❤
Great help! Thanks
thanks for your comment! best regards
OEM oil is shit , use top quality oil motul, fuchs , ipone... etc 10w40
Agree that there are better oil in the market, specifically synthetic ones. But remember that most Japanese bikes indicate semisynthetic oil, which is cheaper and considered of a less quality. Don’t know the reason. As for using 10w40, i wouldn’t use anything different from what the manufacturer indicates, specially the viscosity at engine temperatures. (40 instead of 30) .This may affect performance and even damage engine parts, considering that the manufacturer tested the engine with a given viscosity. I suppose that if you change your oil every 5000/6000km it is not a problem using honda oil. Besides is a lot cheaper and guaranteed by the manufacturer.
Can you provide some lab tests reguarding the Honda oil where we can see what you are saying? Anti-friction and anti-wear properties, degradation over time, etc...
Brilliant video, thanks
thanks for your comment! best regards
Thanks
Great video I have a 2022 africa twin std L I don't have to remove my crash bars to access air box
Thanks for the tip. I prefer to remove it because it allows more space for cleaning the air box. But you’re right. best regard!
Thanks for the video, do you know if there is a plug anywhere you could attach power to instead of adding direct to battery? Maybe for OE grips??
I think there is a plug close to the 12v supply in which you can connect the oem heated grips.
If you fit the oe heated grips, they are controlled off the existing buttons. And they are that hot you can't leave them on high even in the snow.
excellent. !!! 👍. Next time I will try to do it without moving the gas tank.
thanks for the comment!
Great video buddy! Have you got any issues with your Honda over the course of 20 000km? I am just trying to decide which adventure bike to buy, so doing research around. Was tempted by KTM 890, but seeing all these issues on the internet, I am not sure!
Thanks for your comment. As for your question, I haven’t had any issues so far and the bike has proved to be very reliable and easy to maintain. I’ve had BMWs for quite sometime and in comparison to those i find the AT more reliable and straightforward in terms of maintenance. In general, Honda bikes have less technology and don’t prioritize the finishing. Also they always get a little behind in terms of performance. However, the honda package always comes with reliability, less planned obsolescence, less fuel consumption , more durability and a more accessible parts. If you take those qualities as important, the AT is the bike to go for. Specially if you decide to ride in more remote areas, as for honda you can always find a way to get round the problems. Hope it helps! best regards
