Door County, Wisconsin’s most well-known restaurant, established in 1949. From June through October, look for the live goats on the roof, on top of an authentic Swedish log building. Inside, there’s a traditional Swedish atmosphere and Scandinavian food specialties, all served by waitresses in dirndls. After dining, visit Al Johnson’s Butik, featuring a beautiful selection of Scandinavian products. For hours and FAQ questions, visit www.aljohnsons.com

I grew up in G.B. Moved away. I miss this restaurant as a treat. Glad they still have the goats on the roof.
Love this video
good tip on how to do the proper way to prepare the eggs... will use the ice water trick :) Dill makes everything better!
Dont use the caviar in tube on that. That is for eating like he told in the story. We use a differnt Caviar on a sandiwish with Egg sallad, or Smörgåskaka (Sandwishcake) or Skagenröra. (Dont know if it has an english name.) The Caviar is normaly Stenbitsrom (Fresh lump fish roe) or Löjrom (White fish roe). (The best is supposed to be from the city of Kalix in Sweden) 100 dollar and up for 1 lbs.
I cook the egg in the same way. I think many does it like that over here in Sweden. I do the egg sallad almost exactly like you does. I have a hard time with capris so I use Chives instead. Another great episode with fun storys to listen to. Yes Dill is extremly important in Sweden. You should check out how much dill is used at our Crayfish partys.
Brunsås/gräddsås. (brown sauce/Cream sauce) is the backbone of swedish husmanskost (Classic swedish food). Its as important as potatoes or lingonberry. I think its not that uncommon to use black pepper in Cream sauce.(I do atleast) But when it comes to white sauce/Béchamel sauce its white pepper. Thank you for a great episode.
Beautiful. Happy Anniversary!

I miss you guys love you love the crazy swede
Lived all my life in Sweden never seen this. But I will def make it this thursday. looks like a tasty dip. Swedish national day. 6 of june.
Flygande Jakob was invented by Ove Jacobsson, he was not a chef but he worked with air freight that why its flygande (flying) and Jakob is from his last name. I eat it often but I skip the banana. Other variants of this dish is "simmande" Jakob fish instead of chicken. Svävande Jakob a vegiterian version. then you have flying Lotta with chanterell sauce or flygande Kurre with Cassler. But the original was Flygande Jakob The three crowns on the chest is swedish small country weaponshield. Its almost the same as the Swedish police use. The police add some Gold around it.
I remember those...my dad always got the tomato juice. Don't forget the German Chocolate Pie!!!
looks easy enough...plan on making this🤠
Can't wait to make this!
Great interview. Congrats ! You can tell he was a great teacher and inspiration.
Deer meat is a great one to pass around..
Do they still do live music every Fridays? We're going in June .
I miss you / the crazy swed ❤
It's a cocktail made from combining grapefruit-soda/lemonade/pop and gin. Needs to be absolutely ice cold (best if you put it in the freezer before drinking. even after the fridge) and best served with the glass FULL of ice. In finland bars have 3 taps. one beer, one cider and one long drink. Finns usually call it "lonkero" which also happens to translate to "tentacle". Tastes like soda. Will get you effed up REAL quick if you don't know what you're doing 🤣
😱 'promo sm'
loved his guitar song 🎶🎵❤
So obvious to say Charlie is our Mr Holland’s Opus. To be true he exceeded Mr Holland. Our children he touched are better because he was their teacher. You are special Charlie and your years were well spent. Thank you from the parents and for sure the students. Happy times for you going forward. Tim and Nancy
Love the interviews. We can always hear Annika, but you need a microphone on the guest. Many times we can barely hear the person being interviewed.
fun interview...loved the "Take me out to the ballgame" 🎼🎹🎶🎵
Happily surprised to see the organ getting attention. Hope to hear Colin when we are at the door in September. Been an organist for 50 years. Good to hear the G major prelude and the Widor! Also will be eating at Johnsons!
I've never heard of Midsummer's Music and I'm only a couple of hours away! It's a scene I'm definitely going to make! Thank you for this interview with such an interesting and articulate spokeswoman!
I love Midsummer's Music and have attended their concerts for at least a dozen years. The quality of the music is just exceptional and the venues are carefully chosen to advance and harmonize the experience. I wish them every success and I offer my thanks and deep appreciation to Allyson Fleck for stepping into founder Jim (and Jean) Berkenstock's shoes and carrying the torch of excellence forward so admirably.

Great trip. I have heard Door County is very similar to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, in terms of scenery and feel.
Loved this!
The only ingredient that seems out of place to me is the ripe banana.
I just don’t think I could eat this 😮
ok, I shall try this because Annika gave it a thumbs up , thanks for listing all the ingredients 😋
Interesting! I am thinking that adding bananas would be like adding plantains to savory dishes. And about the old man in the peanuts...when I was young my dad told me I could find Santa in a peanut. I loved splitting peanuts and finding Santa inside!
