Episode 154 | How-To-Make Sandefjord Smør | DOOR COUNTY GIRL

Every once in a while, we feel compelled to give those darn Norwegians a strong nod on Door County Girl! All kidding aside, Swedish and Norwegian food dishes are closely aligned, and this one is such a winner! Sandefjord Smør is just a simple butter sauce frequently used with fish recipes, but it's terrific. Sandefjord happens to be a coastal city two hours from Oslo, while “smør” translates to butter in English. You can use this sauce with salmon, cod and most other Scandinavian fish dishes. It’s similar to a béarnaise or hollandaise sauce, but not as strong in spices. Basically, it’s just a simple mix of heavy cream and butter, with a touch of lemon and coriander, and we love it!
