i used ft 670s in college and they were fine. unless youre playing in the nhl where the shots are superior and the development camps are elite which no college offers then the ft 670s are good. people act like you gotta have pro skates when really the pro skates are made because pros use them hard twice a day. no college kid ever beats on em like nhl players do. we practiced 6am-8 during the week before class they held up all season
My wraparound lasted me over a year of using it on asphalt and rough concrete and it's still going
I’m very surprised by the Bauer. I’ve had one on for about a month and use it in my outdoor roller league twice a week and haven’t had any issues. Given I’m not sending clappers all day with it but I think it does very well. Only think I can think of is I still keep the toe of my blade taped and maybe that’s why it stays on perfectly for me. I haven’t had it move once on me and when I take it off to check the blade it’s very secure and hard to take off to be honest
You never taped the end of the stick, I recommend taping that part if you’re using wraparound or Franklin
I own 727 and they’re still going strong! I have a brand new pair of 8.5 sz. 705’s that I stored for years. ❤ love my Grafs
Slow down with the talking MOTOR MOUTH
I use the hockey WrapAround and the Sherwood version, they work well. To me you were not using it correctly while taping the blade from heel to toe because the purpose of getting these, in my opinion, is to keep some glide from the blade without damaging it on the street or concrete. I use it with tape at the toe, and at the heel, and the middle section stays in place and it glides better without tape. My brother tried some other versions found on Amazon and they are fixed to the blade with tie wraps. He likes it.
I recommend the sync I had one for 1 year without it breaking
I always hated what I call the "head hunters". They either always go for the face or the crotch. Like bro fuckin WHY?!?
I’d like to see a doc on how/why gear has become so expensive and is pricing kids out of the sport
ft6 pro or hyp2rlite??
We see you Chris and we will make it happen someday! Loved the video!
Bauer made the Temu version and charged 5 extra bucks!
I need Help. Can i play like hockey on inline skates on concrete with those protectors and an Inline puck without destroying my stick?
Yes, you can.
@@majorBassMasta ah OK thanks man
Hello from Australia
I dont use one because i have invisilign so it should work almost as well
I have also tested the same 3 brands along with another cheap imitation one from Amazon and I had the same results. The Franklin and the off brand one basically fell apart within the first hour of use. The bauer one didn't last more than 3 week's worth of use. The bottom got chewed up fairly quickly and the edge holding the stick blade started to warp outwards. The Hockeywraparound has been by far the best of the blade protectors in terms of durability and protection. I find that you don't need to full cover the wraparound with tape. To reduce that "tape weight" just do 3 wraps around the heel, mid, and toe area and it's on there and secure and still remains relatively light-weight. Hockeywraparound wins this competition by a mile.
Crazy the Franklin I got from Amazon has lasted over 15 sessions of roller hockey still shooting on tennis courts for 8$ values pretty good as it's still running fine. that's my experience with it tho
300 clappers? Tommys gonna need new arms after this
Hockey wraparound is such an amazing product ! Hockey wraparound for the win !
I used to use sisu but those are still uncomfortable to me so i don't use a mouthgaurd anymore
Honey Bee just minding his business stopping to smell the flowers and a big man starts running away. LOL they can't even sting so nothing to be scared of, he was just enjoying the weather too.
What is the point? it is not made for taking slapshots from asphalt :D
The Hockey Wraparound was designed to be used by hockey players for off-ice use. That includes slapshots. Check out our 1000 Shot Test: kzread.info/dash/bejne/q3qNj8l8mazXnaQ.html
@@HockeyWrapAround wraparounds are good for stickhandling/playing on asphalt. There is no point to test it for slapshots, if you want practice your shooting just use shooting pad, it is 10 times better then shooting from asphalt
Those wrap-arounds weren't around when I was a kid , but in all fairness , they don't seem to do a good job and they look pretty cheesy too.
Are you gents still doing jerseys? Would love to grab one if that's still a thing - hadn't been able to find any links that work anymore, unfortunately.
Dear Hockey Wraparound, this is a funny comment. Kind regards.
Thanks for the video. I have gone through multiple blade guards over the last month. I have an outdoor roller hockey rink near my house and I play in an ice hockey league. I use my game sticks on the out door roller rink much more for practice than I do games. Most of the these wrap arounds are over priced garbage. 20 to 30 dollars per wrap around. I had a wrap around “The Wrap around” break after my first slap shot, AND I had it fully tapped except for one spot, the one spot not tapped. Now I do live in a cold climate so maybe the temperature made the plastic break easier. Perhaps. But! 30 bucks for a piece of plastic I’m not impressed. They need to make these damn things cheaper for how flimsy they are. Coming from the old school days of high quality 2 piece sticks. These plastic wrap arounds cost as much as a nice replacement blade. Put that in perspective. We’re getting screwed by the hockey companies and they know it. These wrap around are a big disappointment, bring down the cost for what they really are ,disposable trash to protect your blade for a few sessions.
We’d love to see pictures or hear more about this. We have never heard of a Wraparound breaking on the first shot and we test them extensively to make sure that doesn’t happen. As always, you can always contact us directly if you have an issue!
Another point is NHL has rules that many of us don’t have to follow, for example goalies have to have certain straps sewn in their chesties. So when they need to make adjustments, they need a tailor to unsew and re-sew. Us amateurs are much happier with adjustable straps. Also, pro goalies are facing 100+ mph slap shots. Assuming most of us don’t face shots that hard, we don’t need as much protection. Believe me, if a pro played at a lower division they would want lesser protective and lighter and more flexible gear then.
Blind test would be cool! Do it boys
Any thoughts on the Sherwood blade wraps?
It's pretty much like the WrapAround
Second!!
Wraparound all the way!
💛
Can we get some warrior stick reviews
I got a pair of 703’s in around 2010 or 2011 in LA. Custom footbed. Baked and Steppe Steel blades. Absolutely phenomenal skates.
I always find it interesting to see how every one tapes their stick and how different everyone is. For me personally I have never liked the ribbed feel. I basically put 5 wraps on the top (super small knob) then just continue that down about 6 inches and that's it. super thin, barely any knob. I've also never understood the point of taping the toe, other than looks.
1. Play hockey as long as I can (I'm 51 yrs) 2. Watch ice/inline hockey 3. Wear a hockey jersey when at home
I find its best to spend your money on skates first and foremost. Everything else just grab as you can find it on sale.
Cost of first stick = $0 Cost of first skates = $0 Hand-me-down gear as a kid.
In two-three years I will become a nhl goalie! I’m speaking it into existence now and Idc what you gotta say, my save percentage will be solid af and everyone will know me by that saying! I’m not only going to do this for myself but for my loved ones and everyone who did but also didn’t believe I could do it.I pray that God guides me through this journey and gives me the strength to overcome any obstacle that comes my way as I will not quit and I will do everything for his glory. I will do this! I have to do this!!!
What about main thing? Geometry of this holders?? It is main parameter and no one word about it.
I used to live in Ireland, and I played in the IIHA & I wished y’all the best of luck growing the sport. The growth has potential in the country.
1. Witness my team win a Stanley Cup and have a parade. 2. Score goal in Rogers Arena and hear the goal horn ring (my beer league rents the ice once a year) 3. Play a beer league game with my brother and/or father in law 4. Get a hat trick in a beer league game. 5. Play on an outdoor rink with my friends.
Mr. GRAF, I had a pair of 703 top lights in the mid 90's and they were and are the best pair of skates I had ever owned.
Get your hands on an Aluminum! Find an Easton Aluminum in Mid flex and take shots with it. There's a guy with Easton Aluminum shafts for sale in the UK as I post.
Savagery is a dying breed
Not worth hundreds of dollars. I don't care how much "tech" is put into it, it'll break way too quickly. I still use the Aluminum and I still shoot harder than most and players are afraid to stick check or slash me!!!
Regarding your "hockey road trip" idea: you could definitely spend a few days here in the Twin Cities in Minnesota in January/February, as long as it's a "normal" winter (it wasn't this past winter 😢) Minneapolis and St. Paul are typically at the top of the list in the nation for the quality and quantity of our city parks, and most parks will flood a huge area for skating, put up boards for hockey, and so on. It's always cool to meet people who are in from out of town for hockey tournaments and stuff and have their minds blown by the fact that it's actually cold enough to skate on a football field or whatever 😀 We also have a ton of lakes in the cities to skate on, and if you time it right you could even play at the US Pond Hockey Championships on Lake Nokomis.
ive always used one of there goalie grips on my regular stick, found it just fits my style of playing better
These old Ribcores are the best. Best fit and comfort and super cheap new as old stock on sideline swap
By far my hockey family’s favourite hockey videos! Keep up the great work!!
This A.I. bot sucks
