Crisis What Crisis? podcast

Crisis What Crisis? podcast

Welcome to the KZread channel for the Crisis What Crisis? podcast.

Since our launch in the midst of the pandemic two years ago, host Andy Coulson has talked to a powerful mix of crisis survivors and experts who have been ‘in the room’ when disaster has struck. Our guests have included leaders from the worlds of business, entertainment, sport, politics and journalism.

CWC provides authentic, judgement-free and useful storytelling from those who have been at the brutal, sometimes life threatening, sharp end of crisis and who survived and thrived in the process. Andy’s own background as a newspaper editor, Downing Street Communications Director, one-time inmate of HMP Belmarsh and now sought-after adviser to CEOs, allows him to bring a unique perspective to these conversations.

Tool of abuser is to groom you to believe that they are vile because of you. It’s all nonsense. The last thing anyone who has been abused should do is punish themselves or not speak out and shame the abuser. Not many people like truth tellers, not family, not friends, because in society when you shine a light on these things people ostracise the victims. Best thing to do is to heal yourself and never accept other people’s issues as your problem. These people are parasitic and hide in plain site because no one calls them out and makes them accountable. We stay quiet!!!! Delighted you found your voice, now give the shame and guilt back to the owner.

This is like a parody of the truth. They’ve both committed crimes and Aitken had an entitled life. We’re supposed to feel sorry for this man. It’s a joke.

The age old con. A man of dubious repute feigning honesty, reliability and humility using the mask of piety. There are millions of scoundrels, liars, deviants, crooks and con men adorned in clerical robes.

I’ve watched a lot of documentary’s about “honour killings” no honour what so ever. But banaz’s story hits me I watched it a few times and her story is the only one that has me in tears no matter how many times I watch it I cry every time. Sweet innocent girl it breaks my heart. I don’t know what it is about her story compared to others that hits my soul ❤

Parents loosing a child to suicide need help. It's a huge hurdle to get over. Like they say it's the self questioning that you do that is damaging. Glad they found each other. There needs to be more support groups to help family's move forward. Good luck everyone who needs this help. Thanks guys.

They didn’t want the suicide stats out during covid and to think it was little more than a cold is the saddest thing of all!! I worked in hospital during and we had no one in AnE and those patients that did test positive weren’t ill at all. It’s all really really sad

Thankfully, a year’s wait and six sessions of CBT is not always true. Five months wait and eight sessions of NHS Talking Therapy has been my experience. Plus good signposting to sources of help if there had been a crisis in the meantime.

Thank you Ben. Your words resonated completely with me having lost my beautiful 14 ( and a half) year old son, Harri, very suddenly. I'm now in my 10th year without him and everything I do is in memory of him. Not sure how I am still here without him but I can't wait until we are reunited. He was the light and soul of our family and we are greatly changed because of his death. some good, some bad. As someone once told me when I lost Harri : we could never have imagined the world we would be brought into when we were in the womb, therefore we can never imagine the world that we will go to once we leave here, if we could we would try and get there sooner.

This is the best video on grief in this period of my life losing my husband late last month. I understand I need to accept the new person I am and I understand that my husband is in my heart and the memories are in my heart so when I am doing decisions, I can ask my heart. Hey Phil, should we do this this or that, and his influence still remains even after death. This lady is brilliant.

I find it fascinating that he has taken up a position at Yale and has moved to Jordan, just like that! I like him, he seems genuine, he is somehow in the position where he can afford to be honest and just do anything he wants to do in life. I wish he would champion a major change in our two party, first past the post political system.
