Congratulations on beating the big C! It is lovely to see you smiling and healthy. Welcome back to new sewing adventures, and may you never meet C again! I am sewing clothes for myself, my husband, and my household, summer robes and shirts, and caftans right now. I love them on summer mornings. Reading about fast fashion strengthens my willingness to do hand finishes and make the extra effort for good fit, pretty trims, and quality construction, so my clothes last longer and fit better than any "fast" items. I am dipping into my collection of gorgeous Indonesian batiks to make shirts, which sometimes calls for creative adjustments to take advantage of their borders and designs. I also have some beautiful handwoven silks and would appreciate ideas for using them. Seems like dressup occasions are fewer than they used to be but I am turning 76 this month, and plan to dress up a bit more this year. I am thinking of a special jacket or blazer from the silk, but the silk is so soft I am not sure whether an allover interfacing is a better idea, or a simple underlining to give it a bit more body.

Glad to see you back! My mom who like you was British....and i have her Kilbowie centennial singer 15....anyway, she had colon cancer in the 80s and survived it , many years later when she passed away it wasnt from cancer. My wife went through brest cancer ( both sides) a few years ago and now when shee goes back for 6 months check up shes all clear and now one more vist, she will be on the annual vists for a few more years....doctors are gettig damn good at kicking cancer in the ass! God bless you Evelyn, keep on rocking!

I’m a TNBC stage 3 survivor of nearly 15 years. I had just turned 39 when I was diagnosed on sept 15th. It’s a long journey physically and mentally, listen to your body. Rest when you need to, and take time out when you need to. X

This comment may get lost among the others, but wanted to say how happy I am for you. I totally know what you are saying having gone thru the same treatments for my triple negative. However I wanted to let you know that I am now a 5 1/2 year survivor. As you have probably heard if you get past the 5 year mark, there is little chance of that returning. Praying the same for you. Looking forward to your new sewing videos.

I care so much for you and your recovery! I’ve never commented, but I am so happy to see you again. I’d love to learn more about fabrics/blends, techniques for trouble free sewing with them, warnings against fabrics that are more trouble and prone to wear when laundering.

I’ve missed your videos so much! I am amazed and thankful for you sharing your journey. Congratulations on your recovery. I can’t wait for you to teach us some more. I am in desperate need of instruction on how to sew a zipper into a uniform shirt. My son has asked me to add a zipper to his shirt. He wants to still use the existing buttons but with the added zipper. I just for some reason can not wrap my mind around this task. I understand the concept of zippers although admittedly I am not very confident but I can do this right??…I don’t think so without your knowledge. Please help.
