Thanks Scott, and It's very nice video, and very informative. Question about HV system, what does it means of contactor open, and not be able to close? How can we fix this rom the service mode? Thanks in advance.
i can't get 60 FPS on my project, i'm using a RTX 3060ti 12GB, and i'ts so slowly.
Thanks Scott for the video. I learned about this tool from scanner danner. The downloadable manual is well written.
I need to order that tool from AESwave. It would definitely come in handy!
I just received my uActivate yesterday. Is it normal to hear something inside the tester rattle a bit when it's shaken? Like a loose piece of plastic (or perhaps metal)? Thanks.
@@ronc4146 I would assume that’s not normal. Contact their support team for a resolution. They will take care of you.
Thank you Scott.
what does reset vcfront do?
For those who don't know every function available on a good DMM.

Thanks Scott! Still have my original one. ASE Wave is great.
@@bartscave the new unit has a few cool features you might find value in. This tool (both old and new) are timesavers!
Hi Scott, appreciate the video. I modify mine so I can test the relay as well with the set up. Use this tool all the time
@@djmobileauto I’d love to see a demo of your set up
Great Video and Demo on this time saving tool. The guys at AES ALWAYS know exactly what we need 👏
Mine doesn't have the feature with a speaker or a switch on the side; it has a button. Is mine an older version? I wish they had also installed an internal relay so you wouldn't have to pull the tool out to run the car normally.
Yes, you have the original version of the new Uactivate. This is the version that I also own.
Hi yes I would like to see how to use the U ACTIVATE on a late model Toyota tundra fuel pump control module located in the frame rail near the rear shock
Can you provide a YMM? This vehicle is likely equipped with a brushless DC pump. However, the EFI Main relay is the primary power supply for the FPCM. The FCPM receives a control signal from the ECM to tell it how much pump activity is desired. The pump may operate without a command from the ECM and I'm willing to find out. One of my technicians has a Tacoma with this set up on it so I'll see what I can discover.
It’s a 2012 Toyota tundra 5.7 4wd
I love my u-activate for any relay control circuit. Makes life easy!
Yes, please do a video on how to use it .Please, SCOTT BROWN 👍 SHARP, SCOTT BROWN from Nick Ayivor from London England UK 🇬🇧 ⏰️ 07:39AM
Nice video. I would like more information about how that switch on the side works. I bought the new version uActivate in March of 2023 and mine has a button on the side where yours is a switch. I'm wondering what the difference in using this tool with the switch vs the button. This is the first time I have seen this version with the switch.
@@Mr2004MCSS The switch is the latest version. I had asked about a speaker and they indicated that they would be working on a solution. I recommend reaching out to them and let them know where you learned about the new built-in speaker to see what they might be able to do for you.
@@Mr2004MCSS and thanks for the compliment. 👍
@@TechScottBrown Thanks. I will do that.
@@TechScottBrown I did reach out to AESwave and they explained to me how the switch works. The middle position is off. The up position is to activate the LED lights for 87 and 87a. The down position to use the speaker function. I also asked them if it would be possible to just buy the new control portion with the switch for those of us who have the version with just the button but have not heard back yet.
@@Mr2004MCSS Fyi, i have been working with them in discussions on how to get these units upgraded and I believe that there will be an offering soon. I’ll update you as soon as I get the green light.
YES PLEASE MORE VIDEO/INFORMTION HOW TO USE THE TOOL THANK YOU.

@@jgeorges3061 Ok but that’s going to be mostly outside of the purview of what the uActivate has to offer. However, I do have some HSCAN topics I’ve been meaning to record. Stay tuned
@@philh9238 this topic would likely be outside of the scope of what the uActivate has to offer but I suspect that there are applications on the 12v side of a hybrid that the uActivate could be used. I’ll keep this in mind for future vids.
Everytime I want to purchase the aes terminal master kit, there on back order. Can you help me out.

I bought mine in December from AESWave.

Thanks Scott
Scott, where can I purchase this speaker?
Contact AESwave.com. The new unit has a built into the unit. The user can switch between an LED indicator or a speaker circuit. Really nice features. I’ll be doing a couple of videos soon demonstrating how awesome these features are!

My recollection is that Ford was hit with a class-action lawsuit around early 90s because of defective tfi modules (I certainly had one in my 86 Mustang). Another thing to look at is fretting corrosion in the electrical connectors; this stuff causes intermittent electrical problems. I used Deoxit D5 for cleaning the connectors - great stuff.
Yes, indeed, and I remember back in the day. I gave a deposition to an attorney that was researching stalling complaints on Ford vehicles caused by those TFI modules. I’m fully aware of the connections, terminal, fretting, and other issues. And I totally agree, I use Deoxit as well

After watching John Kellys video about the Y Heat pump system, I was so impressed at the thermal management Tesla has come up with. Such an elegant system. Who else would think to run the motors in "lossy mode" to generate excess heat. Thanks for making the video Scott
Thanks for chiming in sir! I suspect that there are many other functions happening under the covers that have yet to be discovered.
Nice work! I paid for FSD last year for a couple months, then got skipped in this last push from Tesla. It was mediocre last year. You are making me curious to try it again!
At EOY ‘23 Tesla dumped 300k lines of code and replaced it with and-to-end neural networks trained on tons of video! IMO a significant step forward! Many human like impressive moves observed thus far! @travisdecker7153
What all was done to modify this particular engine before ut was dyno'ed??
I don’t recall the specs but camshaft profiles were changed along with a bump in compression. Since this is speed-density it required some changes to the VE map across engine dynamic operation. After the engine was installed I unfortunately discovered that there was a difference in camshaft timing from bank to bank which required disassembly of the front of the engine to correct.

@@TechScottBrownWe saw the solar waves on the concrete here in Cincinnati. It was very, very cool!
This is such a massive improvement from using the toolbox even just a year or two ago! I'm surprised Tesla not only included live data I would normally use with any other car but also gives a very clear visual image of what is going on. It makes me wonder if other diagnostic tools could eventually add this type of visual aid into their tools for engine management or brake systems. Although the systems are very complex they've made troubleshooting much easier for technicians as long as they understand how these systems work.
Agreed, and over this past weekend Tesla rolled out more updates to the fleet that included more features and options for Technicians. I’ll be taking a deeper dive soon. Additionally, the CAN tools in SM+ should be evolving as well and I look forward to discovering more.
This very cool thanks for great efforts.

If there is an error like after replacing crushed Airbags, is it possible to clean the error?
It depends on the error. Service information found within toolbox will provide details as you how the condition will clear. Some airbag deployment events usually require the replacement of modules in addition to the blown air bags. I hope this helps
