I saw this for the first time on cable in 1983 when I was 14 years old. The 14 year old me was saying repeatedly, "This is awesome!" But I get it now that it was, just maybe, too much. Still awesome, though.

It’s funny how different the first Rambo was compared to the sequels. The first was made to spread awareness for the safety of Vietnam veterans. Stallone is one of my favorite actors.

I watch these video reactions to this scene, and I am truly surprised at how shocked people are, when I first saw this movie years ago, it is exactly as I expected, not shocking at all. I never served, but I did spend 12 years catholic school in the 60s and 70s, and I had nuns just as tough as the gunny. 🤣🤣 A buddy I graduated with went into the Marines right after, I ran into him once and he said boot camp was physically tough, but the berating and discipline was nothing new 😅

Unfortunately, as Christopher Tolkien, has expressed a very dim view of Jackson's works, it is quite unlikely that The Silmarillion. covering the 35,000-odd years before LOTR will ever be filmed. At best Durin's Bane, this balrog, might've gotten a footnote there.

The movie without the opening is meaningless. It sets the stage for Carl's new adventure way UP in the sky ☺ To me, Carl should have passed away of natural causes after the graduation, it would have been perfect. But that's just me.

There are MANY aspects of this movie I find IMPOSSIBLE to believe. The main one being the fact that Andy was held in the same cell for the entirety of his time in prison. The other being, the sewer system. It would've been more centralized to the prison. The third, but less noticeable was the poster of Raquel Welch. It should have been "sucked in" towards the entrance of the tunnel. When a vacuum is created, the air pressure changes. With that large main sewer opening holding the majority of the air. The escape tunnel would act as a ventilator. The air exchange would be apparent. The rushing sewer water would have an affect on the pressure as well. The poster would react accordingly as the pressure fluxuaited. He'd have needed a frame with a hard back to prevent the air pressure from the poster from moving. A minor detail. But, noticeable.
