    Slice the food in 1/6 of the cricket or roach! 1/6 is more than enough! Remember one full roach or cricket can feed a colony of hundreds if not thousands of workers

    Could the caffeine be an issue? Perhaps at end of fermentation cycle and after a rinse, not a problem, but definitely would be curious about that

    Hi, brother. I did some research and found out that the SCOBY is about 18% protein and 6% calcium, so it is actually beneficial for the growth of the shrimps and their exoskeleton. Feeding them the SCOBY is a good idea.

    Great video and lovely Shrimp. With Amazonia Gold version no longer being produced. What soil are you going to use next? Most Asian breeders don’t use the UGF anymore. Just simple setup for resets. Soil and sponge filters.

    Thank you for your help with all the work you do to create your videos. I'm 1 week in the cycling of a bookshelf aquarium that I was able to get for the RCS I sold to my fish shop . I'm hoping that this Friday when I get to the store I have an easier time for collecting, they are all very smart and compared to catching fish it's a learning curve lol. I have a few weeks of waiting for the seasons of my aquarium and the only question is the best way to get the glass to be the best for the shrimp is ??? ShouldI I have a separate light and move it around from time to time or use an extra light where the other light is , should I just have 1 or 2 lights on 12 hours , or leave it on until the glass is growing in nicely ???? Any help or even if you have a recommendation for watch it on a video would be awesome since this is the 1st time starting out with a Caradinas 🍁

    The algae on tank glass depends on 2 factors - fertilizers in Your tank and quality of light You use. Combain this two factors and it will grow by itself.

    The biggest thing is that Fancy Tigers are not an even playing field. There is a lot of lying about the genetics, with most current strains of FT coming out of Asian having Taiwan Bee coloring, patterns showing their GFB genetics (you should never see a backline in a real FT), as well as the blue that is more than telling as to it having polluted genetics. The first "Fancy Tigers" were called Dancing Man and were created by Mo Poehler in Germany using Caridina Mariae x Crystal Reds (what most call pure lines now). There should be no taiwan bee coloring, there should be no serrata influence (ie backline), and there should be no blue over the white. The problem is there is a lot of $$$ incentive for breeders to cross things into their lines and pass them off as high grades, when they are actually improper FT types. Taiwan bee coloring is much easier to work with, and much more solid, but as stated before, it should not be present in ANY true fancy tiger. The reality of the situation is what is shown in the video and what most people are buying as Fancy Tigers, are actully just Galaxy Tigers with Fancy Tiger patterns.

  • @Dan_Slee
    @Dan_Slee2 ай бұрын

    Yep, unscrupulous breeders. Those are not Taiwan Bees, or BKK, though they do have the taiwan bee coloring trait as is usually the case in hybrids. The blood red ERKK are similar. Likely someone crossed some patternless hybrids with some EBKK and this is the result. Not a new mutation, its a part of the hybrid genetics. Quite a few red flags... 1) EBKK would not have that perfect coverage, there would be facemasks or a white line at top of head on the majority of EBKK 2) The ones that do have white pattern, have hybrid patterns, not BKK patterns. 3) If PM existed in pure TB, we'd have seen PM showing up a long long time ago. Also, inbreeding does not lead to problems, it only uncovers what is already there.

    Hey nice video, Very interesting but some of your shrimps have blue stripes on the legs/carapace, and another seems to be displaying taitibee genetics, this is not a pure line Taiwan bee mutation in my opinion... still very nice shrimp and always a nice surprise to get some metallic purple!

    I have a small tank, were I got only bladder snails and ramshorn snails inside. Plants I got egeria densa, frogbite and duckweed. Now I added some Neocaridina davidi to the tank and because it`s the first time I have these shrimps, I watched them very closely. I found out, that they are interested in food, but they don`t eat it, they wait for the snails to come and eat it. So I think, that the slime of the snails produced, is food for the shrimps too or it increases the speed of producing biofilm.
