Just swapped the garbage Nittos that were on my 21 Power Wagon when I bought it from the dealer with The Open Country RT Trails 35x12.5. Only have a few hundred miles on em so far but I can attest the road noise is very low, ride comfort is better than the Nittos and they honestly were not horribly expensive. Always been a fan of the Toyos!!
Great info! Thanks man
I always run the MTs and they last about 50k miles with regular rotations...but might have to give the RTs a try
Isnt time/age important too? Coolant thats 2/3 years old vs miles?
How has the ride been? I'm due for new tires and trying to decide if I should go back with the Toyo MT or switch up to the RT trail.
I just put a set of 35s on my Power Wagon and the ride is a ton better than the Nitto Ridge Grapplers that were on it. Not sure what your scope of driving entails but, I would seriously consider the RT Trails!!
@@TGLASS24 Mostly highway driving but do take it on to trips in the mountains. Its been in some thick mud twice neither by choice. The Toyo MTs last forever and have no issues pulling through anything. Only issue is they are a mud tire so they make some noise (nothing crazy). You can also feel the lugs when driving at slower speeds. Trying to decide if its worth it going to a hybrid or just go back with the MTs.
@@Tdill90 Well let me know what you decide! I had the 37s MTs on an old F-250 and definitely know about feeling the lugs. I feel like you can BARELY feel em on RTs.
Such valuable information. Thank you very much! Instantly subscribed
Where do you find that bumper ?
I Just used this video for the second time on my second 3rd gen 4runner
Very Good Demo
Dick Slap......
Hi. Have you done any 4th Gen 4runner rotor and caliper upgrades?
good stuff , would have liked to see cotter pin installed but everything else was right on. thanks
How much does a job like this cost for just labor?
Where are the specs located? Didn’t see anything in the description.
I'm out You are pulling wires willy nilly
Nice setup. Was wondering how good the 2.0 brackets work with the CBI bars? Is there enough height and length clearance for the brackets to attach to the bars? Thanks
great video thanks for making it
Great video. I'd like to see this trail one day.
What kind of shock and strut do you have on it
Did have Bilstein 5100s. Now it has Dobinsons Ims.
Lots of information needed here to make this switch relevant. What lift on 3rd Gen? What size spacers on 3rd Gen? Lot of unanswered questions here.
Straight to the point each segment. 🏁
Nice video. Question: Do we really need to do the wire jumping/pin poking in those wire harness holes to get the temperature? That part kind of turn me off.
I'm going on 30,000 miles with my Toyo Trails. I overland some of the most remote places in Oregon and have all the confidence in the world with these tires. Highly recommended.
I have them too on my 3500 and I tow 14,000 pounds too.
86 96 now 2016
Which dash cam do you have?
What is the website us on this video that provide you this information? I am just curious
I heard toyos are hard to balance, any issues with balancing?
I would definitely disagree and say that's false information. We've sold many sets now and have had non-issue with balance.
Thanks
Considering a 2015 Tacoma vs a 2018/19 Frontier. You spoke a bit about the frontier being kinda junk but I’ve heard they’re pretty reliable. Do you have experience with this. Should I get the Taco even though it’s already 9 years old?
Any 4runner is great
Would that work on 2011 Toyota Tacoma
I couldn't see what you did with the cotter pin.
Could this be done in a 1997 land cruiser?
Nice setup, I am currently running 315 Toyo OC MT and they are 77lb each. I want the R/T Trail 37s, they are 2lb less than the 315s. Thanks for the video.
that was an awesome road trip
Took my 01 is300 to the dealer at 112k for a timing belt and water pump and they bent 3 valves. Definitely doing it myself this time
I see that many use 75W-90 for the rear differential even when the manual says to use 80W-90… why is that? Is it better to use 75W-90? I was thinking to stick with what the manual say and use Lucas oil 80W-90, is it ok?
I just started my journey also with the same car about a week ago
I really enjoy the quality of these videos
Going on repeat for sure 👍 grazi
When you put the cam gears back on it looked to me like you lined the “dot” up with the “hump” correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t you supposed to line the “dash marks” up with the “humps” rather than the “dots”???
whats good, do i need a timing belt cover gasket? im purchasing new valve covers gaskets, intake manifold gaskets, 3 o ring gaskets, the timing belt kit Water Pump, Timing Belt, Tensioner, Pulley, Gaskets from aisin. what else do i need boss?
I have a plate I need to remove below my radiator ( engine ) to even get to the drain plug. It has 4 bolts I have to remove 🙄
Did this truck have a motor coolant drain on the passengers side that should be opened, drained, and then filled at the radiator? Thanks.
How they holding up? My gen 3 is a 98 and lights are far too dim, cant decide if its worth the 500 dollar teq light housing kit or not..
The passenger of that car does not look like they are having a good time, lol.
i would love to go on some of these trails you have over there in my 3rd gen surf, in england we don't really get trails.
Great video quick question are the axles size specific?
People do really foolish things to very nice vehicles it's too bad I have to buy so much junk that these kids get ahold of and then I get it and I'm a poor old man American can I have to straighten out the Bust It Up junk that these kids got handed to them on a platter and here I am an old mountain man needing a good vehicle but I'm poor because I worked for a living
WELL anything is better than a BFG . Even a 15-year-old bald tyre would have more grip.
