    I'm puzzled! EVERYTHING on a Royal Enfield 650 is METRIC..... Why did you just no use a 27mm Metric socket as the factory intended? No need to ruin a perfectly good nut with a sander. 🫣.

  • @WhatIsTheWheel
    @WhatIsTheWheelАй бұрын

    It is not a 27mm socket it is a 27mm Hex or Allen. They start around $25 and require 1" drive tools. The tool I made used the nut I ground down in the video and a cracked socket I had in my junk drawer, the cost was less than $2. The socket was trash, but I kept it for a purpose just like this.

    Comprimising the pressure chamber of the regulator is a bad idea. I would instead make a mount that used the existing seal/flange bolts and just use longer bolts.

    Balance is a big deal for sure. If you have a cart where you can move the seat front to back and change that balance, especially on something as light as a cart, You can really make a big difference in how it handles.

    Thank you for your time…………. A huge difference as well. Are the cheap bills compared to the comet belt. The cheaper belts are gonna leave rubber on the clutch which is gonna screw up the way your belt rides on the clutch. It’s a terrible ride. Spend the extra few bucks and get a good belt from Powersports well worth it and the juggernaut I would advise to get the real juggernaut, huge difference

    All that $ and effort to use a fuel pump! Why not use stock tank with risers and bigger fittings? I don't think tach is right

  • @WhatIsTheWheel
    @WhatIsTheWheel3 ай бұрын

    Some of it was for looks, both to have a clean look on the engine and to use a remote alloy tank. The tach is correct. It inducts the signal from the spark plug wire and is set to read every other signal(the coil fires on scavenge cycle too). I used them on commercial mowing equipment for years.

    The diagram of the two heads tells me that the HEMI head utilizes "Impingement Mixing" and the standard utilizes a "Swirl Mixing". I've been recommending "Impingement" for better fuel consumption and better fuel/air mix.

    Hey Chuck, just wanted to say THANK YOU!!! Your video and instructions were spot on. I just finished the fork kit today and it’s night and day difference. So much better it was crazy. You are the only one that explained how to figure out the two turns in on the emulator PD valve, by starting with no load / pressure on the spring and that’s the zero. Might be obvious but for a newbie it helped to hear that. I also made the tool just as you mention with a 3/4 nut and 1 and 1/16 socket and it worked perfectly. Anyway, I can’t thank you enough, I couldn’t have done this without you. Oh, and I realized after I took the damper rod out that that short spring is already part of the stock damper rod setup. Good fun. Cheers

    Great informative video on these panniers. Just finalising the purchase of these for a cb1000r black edition which I think they ll look great on. About £450 complete here in the UK. What a beautiful RE GT you have. Love the colours. Honestly I m not sure they would be my choice for a RE but that’s just subjective. However liked and look forward to seeing more of your content on the RE. Ride safe.

    I think you will really like them. They don't "fit" the style of the GT but there were not a lot of choices. Motech does make some cases that look like old school fabric panniers but they don't have the capacity of these.

    Lol, this. I cut one of mine down since the riser plates won't work with my frame. Slapped it on a 3/4 shaft 196 with a lugnut. Then, I swapped in a 223 and needed the keyed washer and center bolt for the internal threaded shaft, so I just bought a whole new kit, just for those parts. 😅

    Why haven’t the aftermarket people caught on , if it’s so great for flow , then just replace the head with a ported one. This could be done in the casting process so as not to have to machine the material out…

  • @WhatIsTheWheel
    @WhatIsTheWheel5 ай бұрын

    You can get ported heads from several suppliers. Everything from basic stuff to custom castings and heads that have been welded and the ports completely reshaped. Porting has a long hit rod history. Hotrodding a Predator is a lot like hotrodding an old small block Chevy. There are a bunch of mods to get free or cheap power

  • @WhatIsTheWheel
    @WhatIsTheWheel5 ай бұрын

    That is a tough question. When I got mine, I ended up cutting them down on the lathe to fit the hub and redrilling them. I know the hub shoulder(the the rim sits on) is 40mm and there are metric hubs in that size. You will need to figure out your axle size and see if you can get a hub that matches the axle size and hub diameter. Video of me making them fit: kzread.info/dash/bejne/q5yi2sOeprLQiKw.html&ab_channel=WhatIsTheWheel
