Switch Max needs to have really good software, id hate to be a pessimist but after the flop of TOTK for me im trying not to be super hyped for the next system. Im also worried that most people won't have a reason to buy an entirely new switch unless they have compelling software or features the old one doesn't have. The Next Mario Kart needs to be really good along with the next Mario Game. if we get another recycled game like TOTK then im afraid switch two wont be a giant success, I hope I am wrong but im weary

I don't see us having a September direct OR a Switch 2 reveal this year. 13.5 million Switches is a lot to sell, and I don't think they are going to kill their holiday sales by revealing a console to be released early next year. I think in January, we get a Switch 2 reveal, maybe a direct in Feb/Mar to show the first games off, and a late spring/early summer release for the console. Maybe holiday.

The switch OLED is actually cheaper to manufacture than the original switch, yet it costs more and hasn't phased out the original. So there isn't even a remote chance that the Switches get lowered in price, whether when a next system comes out or when that hardware gets cheaper to produce

Everybody who thinks the switch 2 is going to be a handheld Xbox series S or PS4 pro is absolutely cracked. Look at every other handheld that has a similar level of horsepower as those consoles, look how expensive those handhelds are, and look how much power they draw. We're going to get a PS4 equivalent system, or maybe _slightly_ higher at the best (when handheld)

Before the switch came out my life was very different Ive gotten married. Bought a house. Lost a beloved pet. Had two kids. Its crazy how long this console has been in our lives…

Not sure how them merging consoles meant we had more games and/or better directs. If you were interested in Wii U and 3DS then those old Directs felt great. They were pumping out incredible games on those consoles. Only those who weren't into the Wii U (which was most people) thought that the games of the time weren't very good. Can't help but feel you have reverse rose-tinted glasses for that era. All presentations from gaming companies back then were awkward. It had nothing to do with the games, it was jus corporations learning how to communicate with audiences without coming off like they were preaching to board members (e.g. Sony and their stupid charts they kept showing). Iwata and Reggie also mad those presentations the most memorable. I don't recall any specific Directs from the past 7 years, but I do remember specific individual presentations before the Switch. I remember specific games from the past 7 years but not the Directs, because they have ALL been the same in terms of format.

I hope the Switch 2 is powerful enough to get third party support like the GameCube and Wii U did, if Xbox really does port all its first party titles to other consoles Nintendo can go back to being a primary console for most people and honestly has a shot to be the number one console over PlayStation

I get the point about the small projects not having large profit margins that big companies want. But if S-E's large projects have a 50/50 chance of being major company-threatening financial disasters, maybe S-E needs to learn to be content with and build on the smaller profit margins of its smaller projects.

Even setting aside the cringe writing, etc., Forspoken is just another bland open world game. The Squaresoft of the mid-to-late 1990s and early 2000s that was stylish and cool and was also imaginative and took risks will never come back. Just hope they can make quality remasters of their old games. The "Enix" half of S-E seems to do fine though if Dragon Quest is any indication.

This makes me emotional 🥹 I was part of the switch hype, following it with you, Arlo. The Switch absolutely lived up to the hype and exceeded all my expectations. This console was just victory after victory for everyone who believed in Nintendo 🥹 I also grew up with this console. 7 years feels like so little time but so much has happened in 7 years, so many memories. I started watching you around the time of the switch hype and you’ve remained my favorite person on KZread. Honestly the only person I’ve ever watched for this long, and still felt the same about. Thank you for being you. I really hope the switch 2 can live up to its incredible predecessor. Here’s to more amazing years!

i will always love my switch, so many good memories, so much fun, it’s a sad time but that doesn’t mean new things can’t be good too. Hey, maybe we get this new switch (or something) and it all happens over again, that nostalgia will always be there for the switch, that good feeling mixed with sad feelings, and the feeling will never be the same with another console but maybe, just maybe… this console gives a similar or even just close feeling of excitement, fun, and good times. Thank you Switch, for giving us great memories!

I remember when switch was announced. It was SUCH a big deal. Sophomore year of highschool. I wanted to tell EVERYONE no matter if they cared or not. I needed people to know just how big it was. No one cared lmao 😂😂 It’s surreal to see how right I was. And just how big it has become. Today I graduated 5 years of College. *5 years of college* And a new era is about to begin. And that feels….unreal

I think the Wii U had great games I think the fact they got ported to switch shows that. I don’t think it was the games I think it was the name and marketing. Honestly after Xbox one pissed me off with halo 5 I started playing Wii U and never went back to Xbox.

I started realizing how much charm Nintendo games had during the Wii U era when Nintendo's quirky charm was some times not Nintendo at it's best. But I was just bored with PlayStation by that point, and had no interest in Xbox. Unless it was a superhero game, Sonic, or Kingdom Hearts, I rarely got on my PlayStation anymore. Nintendo taught me that even if a game didn't have the best graphics what mattered was that the game was fun. Then my teacher who was a longer Nintendo fan than me at the time showed me the Switch's reveal and I almost cried. Even my friends who were huge Xbox fans, were excited for the Switch. Even as a Nintendo fan I said Nintendo was done if they didn't have a better console. I also got it as a graduation gift from my Dad when I was graduating High School, and got Zelda Breath Of The Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with it. Then Sonic Mania got announced later and I got it as soon as it released on Switch. I have so many happy memories because of Nintendo Switch. While I've grown out of "I can only play one Console brand" mentality (Why does every gamer have that mentality) the only console I would love more than the Switch 2 would be if SEGA themselves stepped back into the ring and revealed the fabled DreamCast 2 or something lol.
