    I ordered one of these and a new mask and they arrived just before I went on a trip. The Transcend Micro machine seemed quiet to me, but the noise coming from my mask woke me up several times a night. When I got home, I used my new mask with my Resmed Airsense 10 and there was zero noise. I have a whispersoft muffler, but the one I have looks to be about half the size of the one shown in the video.

    Hi, most likely you have the updated whispersoft muffler which is 40% smaller than the original (the one shown in our video).

    Hi! I've just used minicpap software to set my brand new Transcend Micro to my therapy pressure (12). However, the dashboard app still reads the initial setting (4). I've power cycled the Transcend Micro and force stopped the dashboard app but it still reads 4, not 12. I _think_ the pressure that I'm feeling is in fact 12. (Will only know when I try to sleep with it, shortly.) The dashboard app _seems_ to be connecting to the device to read it - at least, there is a pause when going to the settings panel. Is there a way to force it to reread from the device, is this a known issue with the dashboard app, or? (I should say I connected the dashboard app _first_ before using the minicpap app to change the settings.) Thanks!

    I’m not diagnosed with anything but I’m honestly scared to fall asleep. Every so often I will stay up all night because every time I drift off I wake up gasping for air. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem but last night really scared me. I was having these episodes of forgetting to breath for some reason, yet I could tell they were for less than 30 seconds. But there was this one that seemed like it lasted longer than a minute before my entire body jolted awake because something fell off my shelf. I know my body would have woken me up because I wasn’t breathing, but what if it didn’t and I just laid there not breathing? I’m only 14 years old and I know I probably have nothing to worry about but I’m honestly so scared to fall asleep now

    When I started CPAP - this would be nearly 20yrs ago at this point - I had severe problems with this exact issue - couldn't keep my mouth closed. Pressure (then) was 15. Chin strap was horribly uncomfortable. Damn inconvenient. Hated it. BUT! I stuck with it because I really needed the better sleep. Until one night about 6months after starting I forgot to put the chin strap on - and my mouth stayed shut! And has stayed shut since then without ever needing the chin strap again! No leaks whatsoever. Apparently sometime during the 6months my brain, during sleep, had someone managed to learn to keep my mouth shut! This is just one person's experience - ME! - but it's true, and maybe the same will happen for you. Don't give up; you need the better sleep. Maybe other people will chime in with their experience: Have they also learned, in their sleep, to keep their mouth shut?

  • @RespShop
    @RespShop2 күн бұрын

    Thank you for sharing your experience! It is very true - you can train yourself to only breathe through your mouth. A lot of people are skeptical and many people who try don't stick with it so they say it isn't possible.

    It is true. We are what we eat. Dr's are taught to push pills, not fix the problem. These problems can be corrected in one day by eliminating the following 5 poisons from our diet. All vegetable seed oils, White rice, White flour, Refined salt, All sugars, There is no difference between sugar and cyanide to the mitochondria, The only oils we have the enzymes to brake down to carbon dioxide and ATP are animal fats, all processed foods are unrecognizable to the body, they are stopped by the liver. You made a comment about a person with a “Pace Maker”. Since I use the F30, I did not see any disadvantage in using the F40 as they appear to connect in basically the same place/area. Should a person with a pace maker be concerned more with the F40 over the F30. Not sure if my CPAP doc would be the best person to answer a concern on the change. I will probably ask my heart doc about the change. Thanks.

    I tried the F40 because I liked the idea of the soft mask feature. I used it for several nights but had to revert to my F&P Amara View. My experience (and data readout) showed that I could not get a good seal and had many leaks. I am bearded, and that may have caused some issues. Other pertinent details: I have been on CPAP therapy for a year and a half. I use a ResMed AirCurve 10 and a heated supply tube. I also find that a chinstrap helps with mouth leaks. I'm a side sleeper and find both masks work when on my side.

  • @RespShop
    @RespShop22 күн бұрын

    Are your settings on the Micro are exactly the same as your settings on the AirSense 11? Is Ramp on? It's normal for there to be a difference between machines from different manufacturers because they use different algorithms. So there will always be a bit of a difference unless you stick to the same brand.

    Is cpap the best treatment for central sleep apnea?

  • @RespShop
    @RespShop22 күн бұрын

    CPAP can be the first line of treatment for central sleep apnea and if that doesn't fix the issue then doctors usually prescribed BiPAP therapy instead. There are many different reasons why central apneas may occur and depending on the cause of the central apneas, different types of BiPAP therapies will be prescribed.

    with respect to two sizes of tubes - I assume 12mm (and 19mm) with standard 22m ends so I can use leftover tubes from my late lamented Dreamstation Go? In fact, the pictures I've seen show that the "Micro Air Flex Hose" has a kind of twist-to-engage end for the device end - perhaps you can ONLY use their hose on the thing beause of that connector?

  • @RespShop
    @RespShop22 күн бұрын

    Yes, the Micro Air Flex Hose has a special end connection that's designed to only work with the Micro. Previously you could use any standard hose with the Micro as long as you have the muffler attached. The muffler came with a short tube that connects to the Micro. On the other end of the muffler, you can attach your standard hose. However a few months ago Transcend updated their muffler design, reducing its size by 40% and getting rid of that short tube connection. It makes the muffler setup a lot less clunky but it also made it so you can no longer attach a standard hose to the muffler. You have to use the AirFlex hose with the muffler as well. Hope this answers your questions!

    I can confirm that going aftermarket does reduce the overall sound output. However, the standard tubes are bulky and don't do well when repacked every day. The HME filters last ~5 days, and the weight from the HMR can make the weight of the tubing an issue. Definitely the way to go if you use a mask that is not compatible with the AirMini with the ResMed tubing.

    Unfortunately my first night with this system had a leak failure on one side that started small and while I tried to add more tape still was chasing the leak. So I was waking up adjusting trying to press down the tape which would hold for short. Until I woke up again with it leaking total of 29 l per hour But figure that probably after 5 hours was when it started leaking in my sleep more before I woke up to find it. I know the first hour it said zero leaks but I felt the small one starting at that point. Since it was only one side I'm going to assume user error or some other issue with that Halo placement. Since the foam pad is a little less flexible than I would like, I think when the face moves it could loosen if not perfectly applied. I also felt cool air or a wetness on that side. So I'm thinking that once the humid air from the machine found a small pathway, it just kept widening and moistening which probably wasn't helping it re-stick down.
