You should look into the Casio Oceanus line. Some of their stuff is JDM exclusive, but they cost around the same price of these watches except it's far more durable and has a more timeless look. The only bad thing is that they're quartz watches, which can seem cheap to some people. But you never have to worry about winding it, and the one I have adjusts its time to the atomic clock every 4 hours.

Not a watch guy, as I made as clear as possible lol, so feel free to elaborate. I'm evaluating it based on wearability, aesthetics, etc. I think I get where you're coming from, but at the same time I don't really see the downside in doing something similar to a 100k+ watch for ~1k.

@@LOWluxury fair point, im into watches and clothes so ill try to make an analogy that makes sense for the broader audience here. (btw im a huge fan of your videos in general) If you buy real gallery department or many designer brands, you can often retain a decent amount of value for it when after youre done with it and sell. If you buy one of the million IG brands that copies that look its money down the drain. Im not saying you need to buy a real RM but there's plenty of great watches in the 500-1k range that have a true sense of horology and in house or more respectable movements and original designs. Ive held or made money buying and selling seikos, tissots, orients, etc. after wearing for years before moving onto higher horology pieces. If you bought a Christopher Ward Twelve or Bel Canto today i would say its a better use of ~1000 towards a watch than the brand in this video. At least at that point you are paying for an original design from a budding brand building a good history and name for themselves and in house movements. you most likely will be able to sell off later with a decent amount of value retention or better yet keep as a heirloom and pass off to a future child. CW will still be here as a watch brand when they are born, the brand in the video will most likely not.

In clothing terms its like a seeing a person dressed in a loud matching Gucci outfit. RM is such an expensive brand that its mainly a flex brand. An RM homage is like wearing that gucci outfit and hopping out of a Honda Civic. Idk at the end of the day I think it looks good on you, but the social internal judging vibes is can be kinda fucked depending who's looking. It depends on how much you care about a watch nerds opinion. Most people don't know/care.

im thinking about buying some detroits and ive found a pair which are size 27 but i usually wear a 28 in most jeans. they have the same fabric composition as yours in the video (90% cotton, 7% polyester and 3% other fabrics) do you think they’ll fit me or should i look for a size 28 instead?
