Smile you're on TV

Educational and entertaining, all things adventure and trips around the planet, First up Australia from East to West starting in Sydney and with luck ending in Perth. Wayne Mike and Troy riding Suzuki DRX 400E with long range tanks, a mix of camping and pubs in the middle of nowhere.

And then Covid-19 got in the way so it’s time to work out if the bikes we ride are really as good as we think they should be, what is the bias towards the decisions that we make when buying a bike, love it or hate it depends on our commitment to a brand, well I refuse to have one, if it’s good then it’s good but only in the moment, as something else will be better in a few minutes time. Keep watching and subscribe to the channel and ask questions and make suggestions.

Thanks for stopping by and reading this dribble!

Yes why do you read this shit to create poor content. After owning that’s all you have to say mmm . Notting about how many break pads , tyres, what brands you found good ,services, . Did you get the tools out yourself.?. How you found the bike is self for weather protection , did you try different wind shield. would recommend leg apron. How passenger found the weather was the seatings too high ect.. realistic cost of owner ship. Nothing about the bike not having cruise control . You’re just a brand pleaser.

My cbf 1000 only lights up 1 bulb 😡 my vfr800 did both and turned night into day' 1 headlight lit is supposed to look a like motorbike to car drivers' both on could look like its a car but further away than it actually is so said car drivers could misjudge the distance when pulling out of junctions.... I get were they are coming from but i still think 1 headlight lit looks shite

Great review from an actual owner. I'm glad I watched because of some of the minor short comings and flaws. I do wonder if anything has been upgraded or changed since 2017. The shocker for me is the 12k price tag. You can get a Hayabusa for that much! lol All joking aside, that is a lot of money for a scooter. A very nice scooter but still. Thanks for sharing!

It seems to me to be aimed at smaller people or people who like slim bikes i bought my gsa because of its girth and road presence i had lined up a test ride on both gsa and gs but i never bothered testing the 1250gs

  • @austinmatthews347

You are one of the few that seem to agree with my opinion of the 1300 i testrode same bike you did i am sure they will be ok long term but i own a 72 plate gsa and to me its too small also the engine i found made funny noises the qs is a bit better but i can use mine fine. The extra price is a disgrace also

  • @SmileyoureonTV
    @SmileyoureonTV6 ай бұрын

I have and had that opinion, I’ve decided that simply its a different Bike its not the 1200 or the 1250, it might have the same father but a different mother. It has grown on me and I will change but, I would say that is so different from the GSA that it’s not comparable. I keep getting told that the 1300 GSA will be so different it might upset the traditional but with anything change brings a different audience. I don’t speak for myself but motorcycling and manufacturing needs to appeal to a younger demographic to stay in business. What they need to make is a woke bike that only goes out in the warm and dry and covered in protection.

err,.. he might have a too small illegal plate, but you have an Ali pressed b/w plate 13:08 which is naughty on a 2019. Would prolly pop off that EVAP carbon canister for giggles. Bikes are the same other than the instrument upgrade and adjustable forks. More radical changes on the 2021, with LED screen and flyby-wire throttle, enabling cruise control and riding modes and loss of what you call 'gubbins'

I put an order in over two weeks ago, nothing received. Called up, cancelled the order, haven't received a refund either. A sham company and dodgy as hell and still the same today as a couple of years ago it seems, reading the comments and reviews against them. Avoid like the plague.

The BMW off road team were there every year when I went before covid. Unfortunately as good as they are it's not enough to tempt me back as the rest of it is the same old tired format, the entry cost is both a lot more than it was and more than other shows at the NEC like the tin tent lot that also includes free parking (for cars) as partbof the price so it's a no from me. I'd rather go to a dealers, have a test ride and drink theif coffee but each to their own.

I wonder how the hell you're supposed to deploy the centre stand.. No one, but no one has covered this yet... It seems you have to put the bike on the side stand first, then bend over to flip the hinged thingy out .. but then, the rear foot peg is in the way to get your foot on it...🤷‍♂️

Good review. The stuff that really matters to a buyer. Have to say I’m very surprised, I really thought the pillion room would be reduced looking at the bike in the showroom. The topbox does look further back than it used to be so that appears to be how they’ve done it. 👍🏻

I just feel that they tried to please all of the people, all of the time. I am reminded of the movie "Pentagon Wars". They started with a simple enough target. Then others put their two cents in and you are left with a failure. They took one leter of fuel away to make place for a bigger cellular box. You can just as well put your cell in your pocket and have the extra fuel. Weather it is worth it or not. That depends on how much you earn. I don't, but even if I did, it's always better to by the last of a series, than it is to buy the first of a new one. Most of the kinks have hopefully been fixed on the outgoing series.

Last month I put my ktm 1090 in for a 2018 bmw gs1200 adventure rallye te with only 8600 miles on it and immaculate condition, it has every conceivable option including full metal luggage, 4 Denali lights with air horn and extra tourertech crash bars with bags!! I’d never exchange it for that new bmw 1300, is rather have that new Suzuki gx than that!!!!

I've got a 2020 factory loweted 1250GS TE Exclusive that cost £16.5k. Nearest equivelent I can see on the configurator is now nearly £20k which isn't far off what the outgoing 1250 would have cost me so it's a no from me and I've opted for a 1250RS SE with a few ticked boxes for 4k less. It's almost as if BMW and Ducati are in a race to see who can charge the most for their bikes for the bragging rites down the pub.

"Well, I must say, if hairdressers are riding bikes like the BMW R1300, I might need to reconsider my career choices! Who knew hairdressers had such a taste for high-performance motorcycles? But in all seriousness, the BMW R1300 is actually a beast on the road, designed for those who crave adrenaline and crave the wind in their hair, or helmet in this case. So, if you ever feel like trading in the scissors for throttle, this bike might just be your ticket to an edgier hairstyling experience!" Saying that I’m bald, cross runner it is then!
