Thats awful 😖
Pretty sure this is the perfectest riff there is, really.
Is this a new tube screamer? As in, a recent production run.
I rewatched it. Hopefully they still make them through the hole. I plan on building one soon and want one brand new as a reference.
Do you know what these are closest too sonically compared to the other pickups he offers?
Great breakdown
One of the BANGERS🔥🔥🔥 of late 20th century! The whole album still sounds fantastic from beginning to end
I use a Telecaster Thinline with Wide Range HBs in them set up in C Standard, sounds amazing with my pedals! I especially love how it interacts with my JPTR Warlow. I have a weird rig where I run an EHX Mig 50 through most of my pedals and then run a Fender Bassbreaker 30R without pedals except for the footswitch and a boss BD-2, sounds amazing
For someone that is starting out with dropped tuning and dont know where to start with string gauges , i suggest using a string tension calculator ... First put in E standard tuning with a set of 10's in the calculator and note down the tension generated by each string ... Then put in the tuning that you actually want like C standard and start playing around with string thicknesses on the string calculator - the goal of this exercise is to find a thickness of each string in that particular tuning , that resembles a similar tension that a set of 10's in e standard would exert ... This gives you a pretty good starting point when experimenting with a new tuning ... Then you can vary slightly from there according to preference
I'd add Reverend Sensei RA and the Polara deluxe series also looks really good (especially the Kim Thayil signature).
That opening riff was so sick my cat threw up a mouse just so he could hear it too. 🐁
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Subscribed and I’m watching you from Brazil
Thanks for watching!
Which would you recommend for stacking with a distorted amp ?
MF-4 is the most versatile of the bunch for sure
Hey boss, I need your help!!! Best replacement tube for these? We need "best tubes for doom" episode. I just bought this from your recommendation but it needed substantial work at the repair shop. Now nervous and wanting to replace the tubes as well and could use some opinions. Would be willing to offer the head as the testing platform.
EHX or JJ is my go to 🧙
What I think is hilarious is when people say Les Paul is not made for shredding or speed, get an Ibanez... Then you watch Buckethead
Who dat
@@FuzzlordEffects Sarcasm or ? 🤷🏼♂️ On over 500 albums, play for GnR and got bored. If you've really never seen him shred, scoot over to 4:10 kzread.info/dash/bejne/lq2FrKpvYZixp6Q.htmlsi=-rhnZ1CKH7STnGdu
@@FuzzlordEffects I'm not sure if this is sarcasm? 😂🤷🏼♂️ Made over 500 albums and got bored playing for GnR. Shredding on a Les Paul. Scroll over to four minutes. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lq2FrKpvYZixp6Q.htmlsi=7gfcihfCJR6JVBT0
I believe in the resonance of a heavy guitar verses the weight of a light guitar with fancy electronics.
I believed for years when my dad told me the tooth fairy sold teeth to spray paint companies and that’s what the rattle was inside the can and that’s where she got the money for teeth and my first taste of capitalism Somewhat unrelated ✨
I use more software now for guitar tones but even with technology they still cain’t replicate well a good fuzz tone especially for Doom Metal. I want to but one now thatnks for the info
I like you’re passion, honesty and dedication for making this video. I am getting into Doom Metal and interested in buying a pedal. I play guitar for a long time and was into deth and tech death metal. Now in my 40’s my passion is synthwave i have a Boss sy200 and it’s a fantastic pedal. Recently i’ve been getting into the Band Sleep which i never heard of and gave me the gateway for doom.
I really appreciate that!!
The Electrical Guitar Company neck was much less drastic a change verses what I experienced with the old Kramer aluminum neck on the same heavily modified Les Paul Jr clone. The changes I experienced was a bit more energy, much more sustain with a lower level of note volume drop off that is similiar to a Yamaha SG-2000 or SG-3000, an increase to the treble and mid range and open string would need to be muted more often than not. Less overdrive was needed to get the same sound relative to the aluminum verses wood neck. After watching through your video. The string buzz off of the frets was a bit more apparent with the EGC neck, which is something I ran into with my Kramer necks. One head’s up with those aluminum necks that don’t have truss rods, for those that have been converted to dual course necks (a 12-string, or conversely an 8-string bass neck) watch out for string bowing that will occur over time. This happens more frequently with 8-string bass guitars than 12-string guitars. Between the two necks, I preferred the EGC neck.
Cool
🙏
Watching from Sweden, I’m from Ecuador, and listening to CUARZO from Peru, epic doom band check it out. Pedal I would add: a Rat 🐀 and Pedal position I would change the tuner to the end for two reasons: to work as a tuner and muter, in case I’m experimenting w changing pedals, and because fuzzes don’t like buffers they like to be connected straight to the guitar due to their primitive circuitry. Amazing video thanks
Wow nice sounding pickups Jason, and they handle fuzz very well which much like them also sounds awesome
Thank you!
Best tone comes out of that TU-3 my guy.
🐦
I used to own the master volume version of this amp. I had this, a Matamp GT1 and an Orange OTR-120 clone that I built. The Electric was my least favorite out of the three. It does the Sabbath thing real well but that's about it. The Matamp (which I highly recommend) and the Orange can do what the Electric amps does and way more.
This guitar is sexy as a fetish model!
B.C. Rich "Bich" SE 30" baritone with Ernie Ball (2837) 20w-90 strings, tuned somewhere between tremor and thunder...😅😇💪🏻
My god, that offset! ❤ This pickup set is really fantastic sounding. Generally when I put pickups in guitars, they tend to be wound a bit hotter than normal; these are right at home for me. Love the balance in clarity and how aggressive they can get. Great video, Jason! Cheers!
Thank you! Really happy with these and the way they turned out 😬
So I live in Central Kentucky and I've played guitar since I was a teenager. Kind of gave it up for a few years but have recently been trying to get back into it. I dropped some money on these pickups. It'll be the first time changing out pickups but I have some experience repairing electronics so I'm not too worried about the process.
Anything that gets you closer to Mike's tone is a must have in my opinion
Have worked on two of his guitars :)
Very nice! I like the Alnico III design with the four wires. Really cool! These would be excellent in an LTD Viper and do push/pull pots to do the split and phase options.😎 Hey, so I mainly play in Standard E tuning, and a few guitars in E flat. I am mainly a Rhythm Punk player and I do have one guitar that I am toying with the idea of a Doom/Desert Rock setup. I think D Standard would be ideal, I like heavy but if I go lower, why not just get a Baritone guitar? The guitar is a nice Charvel Desolation DC-2 and it is stock with the Desolation active humbuckers. Two questions for you about this: Are active pickups good for the Doom/Desert Rock sound? Would the EMG DMF (I am a Rancid fan so those are hotter takes in the Gibson Dirty Fingers) pickups be better to replace the original pickups? I've also noticed that my tone knob is almost useless with the stock pickups and I mainly prefer Active pickups on my bass guitars and all my other guitars are passive pickups. Thanks Jason, cool guitar, cool pickups, and I always enjoy watching your videos. 😎👍✨
I dont have personal experience paying passives, but I know they get a bad rep regarding playing nice with fuzz - just a consideration
@@thesystima I hope you are joking because Black Sabbath was done with passive pickups, so the entire template for Doom Metal.🤔👺
What song where you playing at the beginning?Just awesome.
Just something I can up with :) 🙏
@@FuzzlordEffects Awesome as always, brotha.👍
I really appreciate that! Hope to get a band together sooner than later I miss playing music :)
Now this what I'm talking about I can't wait to buy these, how are you setting up your fu-2 pedal really love the sound. If you set up a band I'll fly all the way from Malta to join keep it up man.
@@kenman91 lol I know right...his sound is just crazy good.👍
WoW!!!
Super Lead
Upvote for the Acid Bath riffs.
How about Boss OD2, Turbo Overdrive? Jörgen from Sweden
Special Special riff
I have the CR120 and it's a beast running thru V30's. Looking at getting the Pro412 with VOTW speakers. When I think of "Doom/Stoner" metal I think of Laney and Orange. Laney for my bass and Orange for my guitars. But that's just me. In the end it's all about what you like and enjoy and what keeps you motivated to play. This is a very subjective genre to begin with.
dude that guitar is gorgeous with those pickups 🤩🤩🤩 Sounds good too 👍
Thank you!
@@FuzzlordEffects I don't even like the color yt but the simplicity of the B&W contrast with that mirrored neck is 🤌🤌🤩
The boss Katana head is a versatile piece of gear at a lower price point than the crush 100. I used it with the FU-2 and it sounded amazing
They sound the same to me. Don't know.
I got triggered when you mentioned Boss FZ2 as mine got stolen a few years back 😢
Hey, is there anyway to order to romania and skip Vat Taxes?
Is there going to be a full video on these pickups? I’m quite interested.
Yeah should be done with it by the weekend 🙌
Beautiful guitar.
Thanks!
