Smells like teen spirit was the first song i learned to play, that just happened to be the time I started playing guitar as grunge burst forth and slammed the gate down on hair metal and locked it... awesome time to be that age, it seemed like it happened overnight. Edit..this was before internet tabs...we had to figure it all out by ear,or buy the tab book
One my favorite songs to play...

🤘😈🤘
The first song I learned to play was "That's Entertainment" by The Jam (I even have my own way which sounds really good). The first time I did an open mic was "Heroin" by The Velvet Underground. Everyone at that bar dug it even though I was shaking with nerves. I've played in bands and by myself, just keep at it and enjoy yourself.😉👍✨ Great version of this song!
This was one of this first riffs I learned on 6 string, but in my recent restart after years of not playing, I started on a 7, and the first on my return to playin was Korn's Blind. So simple, but absolutely fun and heavy lol Deftones and Korn, always been 2 of my absolute fave bands, ever since I was a kiddo hearing em both from my dad's loud ass stereo or car lol
Excellent! Such a classic!
Black hole sun by Soundgarden One my top songs of all time , rest in peace Chris Easy to play and sounds so deep
Man, I remember the first time I got my Jackson Dinky back from the shop with JB pickups and Jazz Mediums or whatever it took on it, and playing Type O Negative's 'Christian Woman' and 'Black No. One' in B-standard. Some of the most satisfying riffs ever as a strapping young lad. 🤘

Badass guitar and great songs!!! Thanks for watching 🙏
War Pigs! Great video! Cheers!
This is actually one of the first riffs I learned too. Very confidence building for playing and writing, fun and uncomplicated. Love The Deftones, and worth checking out Stephen Carpenter's channel with all his recent playthroughs of these songs! Fun as hell to play along. Funny to recount here but the first I picked out by ear was White Winter Hymnal by Fleet Foxes, a folky tune with a pleasing and slow solo, got me hooked on guitar and lead quickly to heavier stuff. Them college radio days before heavy social media, what a fun time to discover music and try to play it back.

Very interesting. I look forward to hearing more about them.
You're getting that exact tone through your FU2 pedal?

I think a good video would be to take the amp and pedal and show us how you would dial it in to get that tone. Have all knobs at 12-o-clock and dial them in from there or something. I mean, you nailed the $#!& out of that tone, it'd be awesome to have a behind-the-scene howto. 😎
Drop C#?
Metalheads always play this using all downstrokes
