I am really struggling with the crinoline that I bought. It looks like plastic and unravels really badly the second it is cut. Have I bought something wrong? Ps. The hats are gorgeous!
thanks Kerry Sounds like you have bought the right thing crinoline is unruly and difficult to manage but eventually you can get exciting results!
Lovely!
Aright! great
I absolutely love these diy projects 🎉 thanks for sharing
Thank you!

素敵❤ありがとうございます♪
Love the spiral fabric slashing piece, it would make gorgeous framed artwork. I thought you were going to add the beaded spiral to the slashed fabric spiral somehow. My brain is getting a bit old!
Yes that's a good idea...in a frame! I thought about combining the two spirals but wanted to keep them as stand alone separate techniques...😄
Love
thank you!
Incredible! Thank you!❤❤❤
super love that one too!
Bin völlig verwirrt. Wozu soll das gut sein....? Über Geschmack kann man ja streiten.....
Hello Henny absolutely about taste yes each to their own. It's a good way of recycling scrap fabrics and it's a textiles technique which can be used on many things for embellishment and decoration. Such as items of clothing, the front of bags, cushions, book covers etc
It's very beautiful
Cool I think using a different colour and patterned fabric might be good too!
@@didsburyartstudio yeah. Cuz wasn't able to see clearly the pen pattern on the fabric
Hey what type of needle and thread are you using for hand sewing ?
Hi there no idea what size my needle was but I tend to use a thin pointed one and usually I would've used upholstery thread which I get from amazon. thanks for watching!
❤❤❤❤ love
Glad you enjoyed watching!
❤thank you!
no problem!
❤ thank you!
😃
I really like that beige/tan top with the fringe on the front!! I have a pair of ankle boots, same colour with fringe on them. Too bad the shop is thousands of miles away. 😊. I am in USA.
I'm thinking this would make a fascinating decoration for a lady's vintage style hat 😂
yes yes it would!
So adorable ❤. Thank you for sharing this lovely tutorial.
What a lovely project ❤

So beautiful. I want to learn how to do it😊❤
thanks Scott..
Hi.. I love Charity Shopping as well and over the years I have bought some beautiful clothes which are always remarked on. I know Alderley Edge very well as I used to live in Macclesfield and have visited all the ones there. Many years ago I went in one of them, I can’t remember which one! and saw two designer men’s shirts on the counter, they had just been brought in. I bought them both and in fact my husband still has one in the wardrobe, he loved it so much he didn’t want to wear it out. When I go over from Nottingham where I live now to meet up with former work colleagues I always do Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and Knitsford.
Hi Susan thanks for your message....right that's it I'm gonna do another trip there! it's been too long and I'll film another video. I'll also do Wilmslow and Knutsford then!
Love the spiral wire! So happy Lala approves! Possibly a very sassy cat collar for special occasions?!?
oh yes!
I love your technique! I am going to make some and applique them onto garments. Thank you so much!
Its a super technique my latest video is also fabric slashing if you haven't seen that yet!
I’m a new subscriber and I love, love your projects! I’m looking forward to more of your videos. Thank you so much, Bonnie

Your channel is an absolute treasure. Unfortunately I haven't got the time to try things out myself ( hopefully one day) but I abdolutely love watching you excelling in your craft. Fabulous example of techniques! Such a lovely feminine/ natural colour pallete too, love these examples! I bet you're a fantastic teacher and your workshops are great to attend!
Hello there! so glad that you like the channel! lovely comments thank you. Sally x
Have you thought about putting organza or tulle over your piece ?
I love both fabrics so I shall...! thank you
I love this technique - thank you! Used it to make a hat.
Oh that's great! I am so pleased.
I love a good charity shop 👍🏻
Me too!
I LOVE THAT😍❣️❣️❣️
Thank you❤❤❤
hi you are very welcome!
I couldn’t really see that the fabric changed colour, were you dyeing? Could i dothat with cotton and indigo dyeing, the effects look like they could be amazing?
Hi there Pat no I was retaining the shape of the wrapped screws, nails etc but yes you could dye on cotton with different effective results. thanks for watching.
What do you do with the spiral after all that fraying?
Hi up to you..the front of a cushion cover is a gorgeous idea...
Thank you! Very nice!!
The art that you show us is amazibg! Thank you!So much beauty❤❤❤
You are welcome...
Amazing, incredible art you make! Thank you for your lessons!❤❤❤
thank you so much👍🏻
Thank you I really like the result. I tried it with different fabrics, but I didn't get the same result, after cutting there is no change , we can't see the untherneath fabric, and even after washing no change. Does the top fabric have to be of a special fabric to fray after washing?
Hi there it will need a frayable fabric yes...I think that I used a soft furnishing interiors fabric which would fray even if I had ruffled it up with my hands and not washed it. Good luck keep experimenting...
@@didsburyartstudio thank you for your response, also how much distance should be between the sewing lines? Two centimeters?
I have been charity shopping for many years, it is my hobby. I make it a priority to go to Alderly Edge , Wilmslow and Knutsford at the start of Spring/ Summer also Autumn/Winter many footballers and their wives live in the area, also there are many large houses as it is a very wealthy area.
I love charity shops we had two near where i live but one has closed down 🙁i love looking and buying things you are so lucky to have so many on one high street 👍
Ah thanks for watching.
I haven't liked anything.
🤣🤣
Gonna try my hand at this. I'm in a hat fashion show, but my head doesn't fit hats, so this looks to be my only option. Tfs.
great go for it!
Perfect tutorial. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
How do you take care of the garment? I’m afraid to wash it 🙈
Love it !!! I recycled a man’s shirt and did this technique and it came out amazing!!! How can I share it with you?
Hi dm me on insta!
you did a wonderful work like always and it will match well with a long tight knit dress that has a little flare to the Bottom ❤❤❤
oooh I like that👍🏻
