Hello Sally, thank you SO much for this tutorial. Absolutely incredible how that wave smocking works on organza. Got some recently to use in junk journals so will definitely experiment with it, the finished product is gorgeous. Something like this on a cover of a journal would look delightful. I am a pensioner now and my eyes are not what they used to be, no more tiny work but this one I can still manage, the only issue is marking the grid and you gave us good solutions to try. When you are smocking, how do you anticipate shrinkage from pre to post smocked fabric? Do you find that bigger or smaller blocks of smocking end up compressing the fabric more?

Hi there I have found that each different pattern shrinks uniquely. I am currently trying to keep more of an account of shrinkage on different patterns and scales of patterns to share more. So far I have enjoyed creating and making...
