I was in Nha Trang in 1955. Met the mayor. Fixed the problem he was having. Had a good meal and left. Have no idea what the population was then but it felt like a small city.
Wow, what a terrific experience! I can only imagine how different Nha Trang is now compared to 1955. Thanks for sharing!
@@snailtravelers Based on the videos there is a world of difference in what I called a small city and what it is now.
Everything start with spending...
I'm not sure about that, spending first to see the results
Thnx soo much
You sure have brought ‘bidet’ back home i assume 😅
1. Turkey is in Europe 2. Weather is favourable in Turkey, Malaysia is too hot 🔥 3. Food is favourable in Turkey 4. Life is better in Turkey 5. It's more expensive living in Turkey, inflation 6. Communication is difficult in Turkey because they don't speak English 7. Turkish is difficult to learn
I briefly visited Vang Tau ten years ago and you have showed me here much more than I experienced. Thanks for your great video and sharing your experiences. I definitely want to go back to Vung Tau now.
Thank you very much for your kind words and for watching our videos!
Vung Tàu is the most popular tourist destination where visitors from Ho Chi Minh like to travel at weekend and summer holidays. And now today 10/august/2024 I am staying at Van town
Enjoy your holiday, and thank you for watching!
❤ Đà Nẵng
Nice🎉❤
I love the place ❤❤
What other places are less expensive?
Hanoi is one of the most expensive cities in Vietnam, so almost anywhere else (with the exception of HCMC) will be cheaper. You might want to look into Danang, Nha Trang, and Vung Tau. (We have videos from Danang and Vung Tau if you're interested). Thanks for watching!
Gonna be heading to Vietnam soon, and im hoping I'll like it enough to consider it a permanent home. Just nothing but good things im hearing
I hope you enjoy your time in Vietnam! Thanks for watching.
I’m totally sold on trying Bun Cha now! Your description made it sound so mouth-watering! Any recommendations for a must-try dish or spot for other travelers in Hanoi?
I hope you like bun cha as much as we did! We also like banh mi - at first we weren't too excited about it because it's just a sandwich, but we found ourselves wanting more and more! Have a great trip!
I can't believe you live in Vietnam and still pronounce PHO as "FO." It's "fuh!"
This is one of the best videos about Malaysia, thank you for the helpful information!
$1,100 to $1,300 is very reasonable. I think you forgot to add medical insurance and or seeing a doctor if you become ill. When I do my dental work, it cost me about $20-$25 for a deep cleaning, Eyeglasses are reasonable. I bring my eye prescription and I have 2-4 pairs of eyeglasses made. ( good price )
Thanks for sharing this, and thank you for watching!
Malaysia is in the middle, it’s between no so perfect and perfect..😅
Melaka is about the history of the country. Discussing history, you start at Melaka, Most important port in Pirates of Caribbean time. Now it is what it is.
Thank you for sharing this!

It's terrific that Albania is on your list, I think you will love it! Thanks for watching!
We have just discovered your channel through KZread and GoWithLess. We look forward to watching your videos!
So if we were going to stay in one spot for a month or two, which city/area would you recommend? Would you select Tirana, Sarandë or another city?
If you like the beach I would go with Sarande. Tirana has more of an urban feel and more cultural things like museums and festivals. Both Sarande and Tirana have sizable expat communities, but Sarande's expats are more of a retirement crowd whereas Tirana's expats were more likely to be business/digital nomad oriented. Our favorite city in Albania was Korce, and if we were moving to Albania long term that is where we would choose to live. It felt more traditional and with a slower pace of life. Thanks, as always, for watching!
Great video Ryan, thank you. Would be great to get more information on the cost of living in Albania, ie 1) how much for a meal out in a mid tier restaurant for two people, 2) how much is a bottle of wine or pint of beer, 3) average cost of 1 bed apartment rent near beach location? These can be in USD or Euro. Thank you kindly :)
Thank you Ian for the compliment. The price of a meal for two would of course depend on how nice the restaurant is. At the restaurants where we ate that served traditional Albanian food we would spend maybe $25 for two. We are not big drinkers and I don't remember wine or beer prices. We did look at some real estate in Sarande - prices for a one bedroom can be as low as $400, with higher prices closer to the beach, up in the hills if there was a view, or for new construction. Compared to neighboring Greece and even Montenegro, prices are quite low. I have some sample budgets in the description section of our video on Tirana and our video on Sarande that might be helpful. Thanks for watching!

I'm a from Kuching, Sarawak. For me i always said Kuching is the best. Less traffic jam, friendly, cosy, peaceful, food..cheap..
You are from a terrific city! Thank you for watching and for your kind comment
Sometime you meet n see people with bad behavior It might be foreigner Cause here a lot of foreigner working here (millions)
Thank you for your kind words about Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia is a diverse country with its own challenges, but it's heartwarming to see the kindness shown by visitors like you. I enjoy helping tourists because it's a way to share my country's hospitality. It's a reciprocal experience, as I've also encountered kindness from strangers during my travels. I do feel the "lies" can sometimes be attributed to the competitors from other countries and some has something to do with local political scenario as well. But that doesn't stop us from being one of the best city and country to visit. I hope you had an enjoyable stay and we would really love to have you back here.
Thank you for your kind words!
Why you are not making a video that you can explain a cast of living food and rent not in a Beach area normal urban area
Vietnam is NOT a good value for Western retirees unless one has a certain connection to the country. But neither does Vietnam want foreigner immigrants, because it is strained to the max with its own socio-economic challenges. I participated in an economics workshop last year in Vietnam. The government placed top priority on attracting and managing FDI, and it was more concerned with accommodating foreign workers coming to Vietnam (from Korea, US, Japan, EU,...) than general immigrants, since it is important to keep these expat workers happy to live and work, be productive and help Vietnam economy.
This is good information, thanks for sharing!
Re the comment that one day will have a retirement visa, rather entirely depends on a fundamental change in the politics of Viet Nam. ASEAN nations: Singapore, no, put Singapore down as advanced nation. Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand, yes. Brunei, Laos and Viet Nam, no. Brunei is no likely owing to one being in serious trouble if found preaching a faith other than Islam. Laos and Vietnam are similar, except instead of faith is socialism. Criticism of the Socialist Party of Viet Nam is a crime. Until the Viets and the Lao are ready to allow something resembling free expression neither will change their long term stay policies. Cannot have too many of us about the landscape since they already have: [HRW, 5 March 2024]: (Bangkok) - The Vietnamese authorities arrested three prominent critics just days after Vietnam announced its candidacy for another term on the United Nations Human Rights Council... Their crime? Conducting propaganda against the state. For our vid creators, perhaps the reality that Viet Nam is not free ought to be Con 1. Unless of course you love having a good time while some are in jail for writing, You know, we well and truly ought to have a multiparty democracy, and multiparty means proportional representation. Next, the supreme irony of the moment: The police arrested Nguyen Chi Tuyen (also known as Anh Chi), 49, on February 29 in Hanoi. He is a rights campaigner who uses social media, including KZread and Facebook, to comment on social and political issues. His primary KZread channel, Anh Chi Rau Den, has produced over 1,600 videos and is followed by 98,000 subscribers. His second KZread channel, AC Media, has produced more than 1,000 videos and has almost 60,000 subscribers. Lastly, kudos to KZread for keeping this up: kzread.info%C3%ADR%C3%A2u%C4%90en/videos
So beautiful 👏👏
So intriguing to possibly be able to retire in Malaysia and have a good life away from the mess that the United States has become… work all your life and can’t afford to even think about retirement… the cost to survive is daunting… Thank you for sharing….
Very true - living all over 🇻🇳 12 years
Tbh as a Malaysian I'd say people from Kuala Lumpur are not that friendly in Malaysia standard.
Thanks a lot! What a great video😀
Thanks for watching!
Great content ❤
I found you because of your comment on Warren and Julie's Channel😂🎉❤
I'm glad you found our channel and hope you will enjoy our videos. Thanks for watching!
You forgot to mention to immediately pay traffic cops $30 dollars (600K Dong) every time you get pulled over 😄😄😄
is waterfront not riverfront
❤❤❤
I am living in izmir and these are some of my thoughts. Summer heat is definitely a real issue and a by product seems to be the waterfront smells terrible a lot of the time. The sea is also generally very dirty and suffers majorly from red algae suggesting a high nitrate content. Don't live in a "grave" as the locals call them, that is a building over 15 years of age, as before that building regulations were not properly enforced and if there is an earthquake (and izmir is a very active area), they are highly likely to come down. The problem is that there a LOT of older buildings, most of the housing stock in fact, and newer buildings carry a price premium. There is a general lack of investment in the city as politically it is unpopular with the leadership and have obstacles put in their path and a lack of funding. This shows in the general feel of the place, roads and pavements, buildings, social projects etc. We planned to live here but have decided not to.
Thank you for sharing all of this information, it is very helpful. And thanks for watching our videos!
tips from msia,, jom kita pergi makan😂
First of all, get rid of your Amr. pronunciation! The language is almost unable to learn for foreigners. Alone, the 'ga' has up to 8 different meanings, reaching from fish or chicken to train station. It depends on the tonation. Then, going to Saigon, nobody will understand your northern dialect. I was working there for 6 years, mainly in the northern part. I could travel cross country by bus (maynly suicide drivers) because I could speak some of the language.
What about education? Its in English?
Education is in the Montenegrin language but English is taught in school.
I do not want you in my country. Most of the foreigners are hating from Muslims but they are moving to Turkey. It is not your land. Retire and live in your own country.
Which beach cities have the least pollution?
We visited DaNang and Vung Tau, and there was much less pollution in DaNang and more in Vung Tau. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for your great content.
Thanks for watching!
Headed there soon! Thanks for the great preview. Food and beaches look great. Love your channel!
Thanks so much for watching!
As I can see this video was posted about 8 months ago...Has anything changed as far as the requirements for the SMM2H Visa? Do you still need to have an income of 7K per month?
My understanding is that they dropped the monthly income requirement, but it is difficult to find firm information. The fixed deposit amount is still required, RM150K for singles and RM300K for married couples. There's a Facebook group called Sarawak My Second Home Group that is helpful. Thanks for watching!

You didn’t say about weather
Yeah, I missed that - it is hot and humid all year!
