Great show,,,,Not counting the QB’s contract against the cap is the most brilliant, sensible idea anyone can suggest. I would even suggest two roster spots, one offensively, one defensively be eliminated from the salary cap. This idea would literally reset the competitive nature of rosters and games.

Not removing from cap entirely. Maybe QB. But do so many max contracts at a % of cap. Then increase the bonuses for probowl/all pro/ and especially playoffs. Max contracts would allow only the best to demand max pay. All filled up, go try Jax or NO. Or, don’t try to sign for more than the guy that truly earned the max, and make it up w playoff money.

@@joshuaort201 The owners tend to step on their own feet with this instead of drawing a hardline. Performance should be rewarded, no doubt, but I think a lot of times stats are confused with impact.

I am not interested in making sure any player who is leaving it all on the field is not getting paid this or that. The Cowboys don't have to pay Dak another dime after this year and it is okay by me. I just want to know where you get another guy who is going to take you further looking at how this team has been built over the years.

QBs should have a 40-45 base salary with incentives that can get them up to 50-60. Maybe numbers are not feasible but I would like to see an incentive based system.

If Hoffman starts over Beebe, I honestly think its because they want to keep Beebe at guard to take over for Martin when he retires next year. Get Hoffman a year of starting experience at center, then bring Beebe in at guard next year. I dont like it, but that could be their thinking

I like the idea of sliding Tyler Smith to tackle and putting Beebe at guard in the event that Guyton just doesnt live up to the potential.

Liafu was a head scratching reach, at best for the Cowboys, by all of the draft analysts, for being drafted way too early. Both of these gentlemen, watching his tape and reporting soon after the draft, were not overly impressed. The coaches then report back... saying he's an exceptionally smart kid who has picked up the defense quickly. I don't doubt any of that. Notre Dame is a pretty decent school. But, what if all of that points towards what is most likely to be the case, that he has everything *_except_* the athletic ability to finish plays... As that is often what his Notre Dame tape shows? I hope to be eating that concerned prediction and laughing at how wrong I am, by this time next year... As we talk about a magical rookie season, with a sky's the limit future. Nothing would make me happier. Well, except for Overshown also becoming the player I think he can be, alongside him, as our linebacker core for the next 6 - 8 years. If he can stay healthy, I think Overshown is much more of a lock.
