Wat'z Up Aston, I'm not an expert on bikes but since I don't have much money I don't mind researching & asking a lot of questions.... The idea of a new bike w/o any broken stuff that I can't see is a good reason to buy this. A new bike ain't like a used one that they didn't take care of. That said, this bike has been around in S.America/Asian countries for a lot of years so it's a proven reliable bike unlike the crappy Amazon/Chinese stuff for $2,000, you get this one for $2,800 + Dealer Fees($3,500) total. There's really nothing wrong w/ the carb on this bike except it will die on you like as you're leaving a stop sign if you don't give it lots of gas. Same on trails, in low gear you have to do a lot more gas/clutch to keep from stalling & that's why everyone talks about doing the carbs. This bike is not gonna get much more power no matter what you do & there is a big bore kit(piston & head) that'll make her a 220cc bike but even w/ that upgrade you still won't be carving up the Interstate Highways. This little bike is a town bike & you can safely ride her on a 60MPH Road but even then I'd let cars by you if they wanted by, you got the right to a lane but best to let em' go by you to be safe. But in town she's got enough to get ya where you're going. The carb fix is changing both JET's inside to a little larger to give more fuel but you don't have to do it & it doesn't make the bike faster, just keeps ya from stalling her which you'll learn to do anyway. You can open the airbox & fix the carbs all for cheap & it might get you a little more but not much & you really don't have to do anything right away. The 1st things I'd do is get a better set of tires & if you ride 70% on roads, 30% on trails, buy a decent tire for a 70/30 ride but only after using the ones on it for 2k miles or so. Overall, it's a good bike that'll get you around for cheap & that's why I'm looking hard at her. Also, when ya get ready, look for last years model b/c it will be less money for the same damn bike. Honda ain't doing major upgrades to this b/c if they do it's mess with all the Emissions & they are competing w/ Chinese Bikes that cost less so they don't wanna go to high. I'm an old guy looking at this bike b/c she's light & reliable, don't need much upkeep so ya ride her for a few yrs & leave it on side the road. Not really but she's a good bike for 1sr bike. Let me know if ya buy one? peace

28mm is too large for the stock bike. It’ll work though. At 6000’ with a 30 pilot jet and a 135 main, it’s too rich at idle and actually wants a 25 pilot. (Also cold air intake, ported intake and exhaust, de-restricted exhaust) 28mm is recommended for 170cc-190cc. I have 222cc now and it’s still rich with a 28mm and 30 pilot. 30mm is recommended for 222cc. I’ll be able to give an update on jet sizing with a 30mm here soon. Upgrading the carb doesn’t really gain top speed, just more power in each gear. The 222cc definitely allows for higher top speed and hill climbing power. Need to test different sprocket ratios to test for higher top speed. An upgraded cam and heavy duty valve springs would also really help.

i bet the noise your haring is a gasket leak or exhaust leak. and there is a upgrade for the electrical /ignition system and a lithium battery will also help out. your air fuel should be around 12.5 -13.2 its also recommended to keep going through the throttle curve at multiple. ranges so the ecu learns it. also a direct drive hub instead of the kush drive puts the power out better.

I dropped my Honda Grom today and now I cannot get it into neutral and when I just release the clutch to go forward slowly there is a funny noise and the engine stalls out. I am assuming when the bike fell to the right, opposite the clutch side at less than than 1 MPH that it destroyed the clutch. I was doing complete handle bar lock turns when I fell down with it. Not being mechanically inclined I will not attempt to look at my clutch as it looks more complicated than what I thought. So is the transmission also the clutch? How many hours would it take a garage to do what you did? Thanks for that nice video and you sure know your stuff.

Thanks for your response. A few days later I tried again, as taking off in the first gear and I got 100 feet and the engine stalled again. I then put it back into my garage and tried to see again if I could somehow get the gear into neutral and all of a sudden I saw that beautiful green N light come on. So now all back to normal and not sure what happened from a fall on to soft grass but it has now worked perfectly since it happened. I am new at this, and practicing in my driveway and lawn for the test for a license. Being up in Canada with snow, it will have to wait till June or so.

@@erwinerwin1245 Thats awesome man good to hear that was probably a weird glitch for you never heard of that before. Maybe something was not out of place from the fall and then i moved back eventually. Not really sure but if its working now its not a problem anymore!
@erwinerwin12455 ай бұрын
Also after I picked it up after the fall, it would not start for a minute or so. (I assume it must be a safety feature that the motor shuts off after a certain tilt as flat on the ground) Something must have fell out of place like you mentioned and all of a sudden it fell back in place and all works as good as new. Question: Is riding the clutch at the friction point to control speed in certain slow speed exercises hard on the clutch?

I’m running the Dhm 186cc Kit also I was curious. I thought you would have to get a new piston and sleeve to fit the 205cc the 186 cylinder wouldn’t fit a 205cc piston
Because of the stroker crank it gives it more displacement. Use a engine size calculator and put in 63.9mm stroke and 64mm bore it gives you a 205cc engine size. Im going to make it even bigger soon
@@c0byreen671 yeah they don’t sale anything bigger than 64mm for the groms. Anything bigger than that you will have to sleeve it. Can sleeve it to 72mm if a upgrade bigger pin rod
i bet the noise your haring is a gasket leak or exhaust leak. and there is a upgrade for the electrical /ignition system and a lithium battery will also help out. your air fuel should be around 12.5 -13.2 its also recommended to keep going through the throttle curve at multiple. ranges so the ecu learns it. also a direct drive hub instead of the kush drive puts the power out better.
Nope already figured out the noise was the idle control valve. Already fixed it ill make a update soon show my logs afr is 12.8 at wot and perfect driving. Cold starting with out any gas got it mint 🤙🏼
I don’t need any electrical upgrades bikes is totally fine lol and been stunting the stock hub for a yr no issues with lower delivery
You literally couldn't of done a better job on the crank. Ive never seen one that was 0 on both sides before.
Thanks man thats good to hear then 🤙🏼
nice that's quit a bit of parts defiantly not cheap all out would be interesting to see a grom clone with a zs212cc 5speed line up next to each other. there is a koso fuel injection set up and a aracer standalone ecu set up it will be beasty
That would a beast for sure man. Im trying to get my friend with a kp150 to do it

💯💯🔥, I’m trying to learn no handers any tips man on keep the bike at balance point when letting go
Its hard at first dude, just gotta get used to leaning back to keep it up but gotta be locked in so you dont fall off.
@@andreoli118 got ya, yeah I’m pretty comfortable shift locking, and with one hand. As soon I want to let go, I drop the bike, like you say keeping it up is the hard part lol cool man Appricate hitting me back up…
@@lulu_tx648 if you comfortable with shift lock and one handed then try to get used to no throttle hand coasters and then try no hands after you’ll get it dude just gotta keep trying it!
@@andreoli118 gotcha, I’ll give it try man 💯 you got them down badass man
I'm underwhelmed
😂🤣🤷🏼♂️ you can’t do better

Hell yeah man hopefully you can hop on one soon dude 👊🏼🤙🏼
I don’t know why I don’t get notifications on KZread for comments smh. But sorry to hear that man. Hope you got it figured out. Someone that know how to do it should be able to do it in under an hour for sure. Probably like 30mins honestly.
Omg 🎉
Thanks 🙏🏼
