    Good afternoon. Thoroughly enjoyed the video. I have a question though if you wouldn't mind answering. I am wanting to waterproof the cloth cover on a pop-up gazebo type of structure (10 x 10'). I believe it would be rather difficult to find somewhere to hang this to dry as it comes to a point in the center. Would it be possible after soaking, to put it onto the frame to dry, or better to frame it up first, and then use a soft brush to paint the mixture on? Something like a soft car washing brush? Appreciate any advice you might offer. Thanks.

    Since you're asking I'll give you early access to a video that will go public tomorrow on a new version of this project: kzread.info/dash/bejne/epmYtMSCo7CdZbA.htmlsi=NDeeOte0jcktRvl_ I would perhaps use the method demonstrated toward the end of the video for treating a jacket for your gazebo cover.

    @@Nighthawkinlight thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my question, I m a student from middle school and i wanted to create a project because of my keen interest in chemistry, I was thinking that maybe I can take the starlite panel and merge it with the radiative cooling coating, even if it is installed in panels, the starlite would provide for a back panel, and if there is no fire, the cooling paint should work as intended as there is no insulator stopping it from cooling the surface beneath, and the insulation only comes when the carbon foam deploys with fire, and since it also releases a small amount of CO2 and travells towards the source of the flame as a bonus, I think it may also help in extinguishing thr fires, like a inbuilt fire extinguisher built into your wall, you have been my inspiration for almost all my school projects and have motivated me to try something new, I really appreciate the work you do, you really are a nice guy, keep at it! And please tell if you think my projects has any loopholes, consequences or room for improvement if you get the time. Thanks! (Sorry this message got really long ;-:)

    You should consider using dynamic range compression on your audio signal. There are big differences between the quitest part of the video and the parts where you are excited. It is nothing bad, it is an editorial choice. In my opinion content like this, most viewers will value stable volume output :) In contrast to movies where you want the audio system to be able to produce big explosions alot louder than conversation volume.

  • @Nighthawkinlight
    @Nighthawkinlight15 сағат бұрын

    I did use a compressor but I think the audio clipping when I shout made the sound seem louder. I need to upgrade my mic setup with floating audio so I don't clip as I did here. If it was me I would get black potch and take the different solutions and find a way to do a really fine spray of the solution with one of them let it dry. Move to the next. It will take over 100 different times spraying to build up a proper dome. Once you have a high dome. Polish it Like any other opal to remove that White milky color that would be left.

    In welding class we were instructed to NEVER weld teflon coated pans! Although super safe at normal cooking temperatures, and even a little beyond, we were told that welding temperatures turned teflon into EXTREMELY toxic fumes. Maybe your insulating layer is enough to keep it below that temperature, but better to use uncoated steel or stainless steel instead.

    what about the off gassing of the paint and tape adhesive when the panel gets hot then you pump the air into your house to breath it might be an issue

  • @Nighthawkinlight
    @NighthawkinlightКүн бұрын

    The paint is on the other side of the panel from where the air goes through. The tape adhesive might offgas but I think that's a drop in the bucket compared to how much offgassing stuff there is in a typical house. You could leave it in the sun blowing air into the outdoors for a few days that that would probably get rid of 90% of it.

    Incorrect conception and explanation of the phenomena. The glass tubes vibrate which makes soundwaves. The air vibrations come from material flexing ever so slightly.

  • @Nighthawkinlight
    @NighthawkinlightКүн бұрын

    The glass has its own resonance but it's much higher pitch than the resonance of the air cavity. As an experiment try blowing over the mouth of a glass and plastic bottle of the same empty volume and shape. You'll find they both resonate at the same pitch despite the materials being very different. That's because it's the volume of air inside that is resonating, not the bottle material. I take advantage of this in the following video in this series: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nZ92pM2KaM2sgrw.html
