Coach are you teaching only the defensive line to build up; when can we combine a midfielder
You can combine the midfielders whenever you would like. This exercise is primarily for the back 4 (outside backs and centre backs) to develop moving the ball quickly around the back whilst looking to play forward when possible.

I love this session, my boys will do exactly during my next practice day ❤
Glad that you love this soccer warm-up and are getting some use from it. Let us know how it goes or any modifications you make.
Thanks for sharing. Great drill to put in practice in our U9 teams.
Great! Let us know how it goes for you!
Not a bad drill.... But for kids there's too much standing and waiting for your turn. Need more involvement....
Thanks for the feedback. The 1vs1 reps (bouts) in the grid are actually quite intense and the duration is varied. In some ways it replicates the intensities of a real game. High intensity and interspersed with break periods. But I can see that this could be the case if the lines lengths are not monitored.
@@Professionalsoccercoaching Tried it this week with 7yr olds.... It was reasonably good, and I tried a 2 v 2 version to try to negate having kids standing waiting in line for too long. For my age group, I'd really like to find less 'wait in line' drills and more, fuller involvement of all. I don't think 6 and 7yr olds need recovery times as such - they'd get far more out continual involvement, encouragement (fun) and 'drills' where they can express themselves.
@@raymondconley-smith1221 Yeah, per the instructions, this is for 12yrs old and up. We don't do this exercise below that age group for the reasons you mentioned.
Wat if ball goes outside and how to restart it ?
It restarts from the nearest gate the ball went out of with the waiting player at that gate dribbling into the grid.
Nice football
Nice, loving it

💪❤😁👍👍👍
Great exercise, that goes without saying. However, no shin guards for most of the players. Doesn't look professional to me at all.

question where the coach position is that ok?
You are free to wander:) I drift around to where I feel attention is needed or the section of the field I want to focus on.
Hello. We tried this exercise yesterday. There was a bit of confusing, maybe you can explain it to me: When the attacker fails to pass the ball correctly, he becomes the new defender. But the play on which side now starts to become the new attacker?
If the defender wins, the two in the middle just switch roles. The pervious attacker becomes defender and the defender becomes the attacker. Does that help out? Then they just play to the ends like normal.
I like the sound of this! Will introduce next week to my jv team

Hi,,I'm from Bougainville (PNG) very much interested in your program.
please check out the full website for full content: professionalsoccercoaching.com
When I do a playing out from the back exercises with GK + back 4 + DM vs a pressing four, I always have two groups of attacking/pressing players in different colour bibs. After every out, I rotate the new four in. This allows a much better pressing action from younger players who can't maintain that level of intensity for very long.
Interesting approach, thanks for sharing. Like the idea of giving them breaks to maintain the quality of pressing!
@@Professionalsoccercoaching Cheers, thanks for the reply. The session is very clear and I like the use of the zones.
Fantastic exercise, I tried this with my F Youth squad (8 and 9 year old). They really liked the competitive spirit of it, also counting how often each team could get around the defender. Thanks a lot for sharing this, also very well made video and explanation! Regards from Germany.
Thanks for sharing your feedback. The competitive element of this drill/exercise is definitely a huge plus. And the players want to play it.
What camera/ video camera is used for training sessions?
We use many different cameras.
I enjoyed it and took notes on my book
Is very good session ❤❤
Hi guys, great drill a lot to look for an instruct, what tool you use for drawings? Are there some free alternatives for drawing tools, any recommendations? Thanks.
everything is custom:)
This is an excellent and very easy to understand video, thank you. We are moving from 9 a side to junior 11 a side and I want to focus on playing out from the back more, confidence to do so.
Coaching Points dropping to compact space and defend the edge of the penalty area fullbacks taking up advanced positions to provide width centerbacks should be split wide when playing out from the back receive in an open body stance to see all possible passing options and not make play predictable speed of transition both attacking to defending shape and vice versa patience and not forcing play forward or down one side of the field quick ball circulation with limited touches when playing around the back buil diamonds and triangles in order to dominate and control possession overload in order to isolate and exploit poorly defended areas of the field patience in possession and good supporting angles from the defending unit when play cannot go forward distribution from the Goalkeeper. Use him as a sweeper Switch play in order to play away from pressure Tempo should be high with limited touch quick passing and movement distances and angles of support relative to the ball carrier
Thank you ❤
Tried this with my very rudimentary u12 group last night. We have lots of new kids and it erk as well as you'd expect. I'll keep it in the rotation and keen to see what happens over the season

Hello there Excuse me can you tell me the name of this programme that you use here Thank you
No this is all custom editing.
Its not clear if the CBs at the other end pass the ball back to the other colored team that successfully got the ball to them (as a reward for having achieved that) or do they pass it then to their own colour bibbed team? Is it only when a team loses possession through the midfielders does the other team get a chance to gain possession?
After playing into the opposite end target (opposite color). And gaining a point the other team attacks the other end with their team in the same color. So it would be like basketball in that regard, after scoring possession is given to the other team to attempt to score. Hope that helps.
