  Has to be a wii laser and there are 2 versions of laser the wii takes . I explain in the video how to identify the one you need.

  Also , I have a Wii that reads fine but it won’t eject. Those little metal clips that keep the disc in doesn’t move at all. Should I just replace the whole optical drive ? Or you think it’s like the motor for the eject ?

  @@mikewazowski5900 I would double check to see if it Seated properly and make sure where the solder blob was that there is no solder left bridging the connection. Just take your time on go over it all . Sorry couldn't be more helpful

  I appreciate the video. Do you know if it is necessary to use the resistor when connecting together those 2 specific points on the backside? I've seen other tutorial videos that say it's optional, but I've never really understood why.

  It's safer to use the resistor to protect your cpu . It's not necessary but there super cheap so I would recommend using them . Thank you

  Great video, I’ve had to replace two boards already. I noticed the new boards they sent me have larger power ratings on the switches. Can you tell be where to buy the switch from and what the model is? I’d like to try just replacing the individual switch like you just showed us how to do.

  You would have to identify your motherboard version . Lots of pics and info on Google to do so. if it's a corona 4 gb it should work . One other thing you would have to check is if you need a post fix adapter which I went over in the video . Thanks for watching

  @@theghettotraveler347 the power suppy for your xbox can help identify your motherboard too . If your not finding these solder pads on the silkscreen you probably don't have the right motherboard .

  The solder needs to be remove .it's there to protect the laser from damage until it's installed. If it's left it will not read games

  POST? Well, It's possible to solder to POST on the top of the motherboard if the bottom point is damage. You can also clamp a postfix adapter on the side of the CPU. If you are taling about PLL, then it is impossible to fix on the S/E. You need to use S-RGH or Mufas if PLL is damaged on S/E.

  clear audio and video great presentation, i am doing one of these right now for a friend from work. i am a novice and i am doing one step at a time, one other thing i noticed. i discovered to help with doing smc's is to use a mechanical pencil - position smc after prepping board and hold it in place using the eraser end on the pencil. this is good in 2 ways; 1, it is way smaller than my giant fingers and the eraser "gripps" it a bit since it is rubber. and 2, if you accidentally heat it to much you don't get a singed finger. i inspected the board before starting and noticed that the power jack had bad solder joints; they were not dull like a cold joint but cracked loose almost all the way around the base of the solder point.

  I have a 4GB console that requires a POST Fix adapter, I am able to create and write my Xell build but when I plug the console in to get my Key, I get a green light but no video out on any port (component or HDMI), eject button works on the DVD and the drive spins up, I never get a out green dash only the center green LED. Any help would be appreciated.

  Usually if it doesn't boot it means one of two things: A. Your wiring is bad, and you'll need to check your solder joints. B. One time I made the mistake of not building an RGH 3 image, which can also prevent your console from booting xell. If it's neither of those, your console could also be dead.

  Needs a 128MB compatible bios. Xecuter 2 bioses won't use it. I've heard that the latest IND bios does. Xecuter 3 can handle it. Pretty sure Cerbios can, too 👍

  The model 3 was a water down version and removed a few connections that disable sega master system games from working and by doing that we lost game genie support as well. In this video we are just adding those lost connections to restore the game genie. Thanks for watching
