This reminds me of my first 100% sparring match. By the end of it both me and my opponents was just brawling. Also just wondering why I don't see many high kicks from the Kyokushin, is this because the opponent is taller, he is unable to kick that high or its dangerous with a boxer in close proximity? Thanks.

We really need these added to the competition rules. I learned much of this in traditional Goju Ryu and it's extremely limiting for me in sparring to not be able to use these techniques because it's my natural instinct to do so.

This is nothing new under the sun because Nippon Kempo (a combination of Shito Ryu Karate, Goju Ryu Karate and Kodokan Judo) had made a working fusion of full contact kumite and randori since 1932. Kyokushin became official since 1960s however. It's a real shame the majority of Kyokushin are stuck with their traditional knockdown kumite instead of making something as realistic as Nippon Kempo's competition or Kudo's format.

There are different kyokushin organizations with different tournament rule sets, iko 1 is no take downs and no face punches but the other organization iko 2 and 3 have take downs and face punches, please feel to correct me cuase i read about it long ago so i dont remember clearly on wich organization has those take down rules but i think it's kudo and seido kaikan 😊

Boxing guy acknowledged that he must keep close range. i think without gear or in a pro fight if the boxer constantly go for the head, he would win, specially in kyokushin they are not focus on head move, a good boxer would make your head a punching bag with that. but if you cant stand a body shot like push kick or leg kick from kyokushin , it’s over too
