No it's not. Creator of kyokushin oyama stated himself that no head punches are allowed in kyokushin kumite. Meaning the shinken shobu format is just a "branch" of kyokushin

@@MMASimplified yes it was! At first punches and elbows to head were allowed in kyokushin and oyama allowed em amd even with some grappling throwin techniques but then he deleted punching to face beacuse it was so dangerous since its all bare knockles and deleted grappling and throwing to make it just striking...

Beautiful! It's very interesting to see how the change of rules heavily influences the fight dynamics. This Shinken shobu Kyokushin looks more like goju ryu or shotokan because you Can't stay in the pocket throwing reckless punches while you're opponent Can hit you in the head

I don't know about Goju ryu, but this definitely DOESN'T look like Shotokan.

I'm not talking about watered down sport karate but oldschool shotokan. The most important change is how they fight mostly from outside range while in Kyokushin you often fight from inside with knee strikes and body punches.

AWESOME display of stand up striking. It was cool to see how the distance and styles change once you get punched in the face. I would love to train at a place like this.👍 These guys are awesome at what they do.😁

When will they teach to punch in face in sparring? Until black belt? I interested to training kyokushinkan, because i think they train safely and controled. Many emotional dudes here. Not any means disrespect the arts. sparring in modern combat sports such boxing and muay thai. I know both karate and muay thai are great arts

Yeah! Throw in a bit of boxing technique an' make da punches an' kicks flow somewhat seamlessly... Now if only all kyokushin [and otherwise knockdown karate] teaches/practices face punching, then ... well... up, up, and UP!!!

All of these gyms are Dutch and have kickboxers like: Rob Kaman (Meijiro), Peter Aerts (Chakuriki /Meijiro), Ernesto Hoost (Vos), Semmy Schilt and Alistair Overeem (Golden Glory).
