The iso performance is the biggest thing for me. The gr’s have always been a few generations behind in that sense. They’d have to make the camera bigger if they wanted to add the flash back. They removed it because the ibis took up that space. I’d rather them not waste space for a viewfinder, the hotshoe finders work great. My main things are iso, the original positive film, and also just more and better options and controls for the filters. I’d love to see them try to embrace the film recipe situation and give us more of that. The autofocus can be kinda butts, but I expect that to be a little better.

Leica M11-D is around the corner, you could sell the X100IV for more money then what you pay for. A pure photo camera has always been a dream for me, I don't need video, a LCD sceen, I even hope Leica get rid of the Wifi on the M11-D

You should try a used canon 5D MK II, Sony A900 or a nikon D700, you will be amazed by the build quality, perfect ergonomics and great IQ. If you miss the Leica experience, just switch to manual on these japanese gems and buy an adapter for your lenses.

@@KN1F3_GODThat sounds like a "dead Pixel". I had a blue line appearing at a high iso in scenes like the one you describe. Basically, a Pixel gives of a faulty signal that then affect the rest of the pixels in that line. If it is a "dead Pixel", it can usually be fixed with remapping. In more modern cameras there is often a build in programme to do that in camera. With the M10, for me, I just made contact with Leica customer support. They asked me to send a raw-file where the line was showing. The next day I received a file to install on the camera. All free of charge and I never saw the line again after that. Could be worth to try :)

Love all your photos and the tones are from the Lord. yes live view drains the battery so much! but if I don't use LV then battery can last me all day! ive been using it at portrait shoots with 28mm for wide environmental establishing shots, and on my sony I rock the 70-180 for any close up vibes

I need to roll my eye around but am still really guessing as to framing and it is always wider than I expect. OTOH with zone focus it is really easy to shoot from the hip and there is room to drop later. Enjoy the 50 mm more but I did want to try to go wider.

I watched your review a little over a year ago before I started travelling and was on the search for a camera I could easily pack in a bag, have the quality to print, and not have to decide between lenses everywhere I go. I was hesitant about settling on 28mm but as I do almost all landscape shots. Everything seemed right so I bought it. I've taken about 20,000+ shots with it to this day and I have no regrets. I love not deciding between lenses. I love the formfactor. I love the quality of images. I love the tactile feeling of using it. I don't even use the screen 90% of the time unless I'm fiddling around to get the ISO right. This camera has fit every need I had. I've shot 26 countries from the top of mount Fuji to the Norwegian fjords and not once did i think "i wish i had my EOS R and 5 lenses with me." The only niche gripe I've had is how the camera doesn't do well at night particularly with slow shutter photos. To this day I've been unable to turn off the auto denoise feature after a slow shutter image, and it often results in gross color banding/blending. But that's not what I bought the camera for, just a limitation I've come to ignore. if I'm determined to get the shot I will just shoot in black and white, or just fix it in photoshop. The camera has been great and I thank you for your videos about it.

Fuji active positives: 1) lenses are way cheaper and outstanding quality. 2) Physical user interface and the customization. 3) I was a raw guy but shoot raw and jpg now with custom film sims setup the way I post process. I'm actually ok to send out jpgs out of the camera without PP. The only thing it lacks is in cam color grading. 4) the output quality and the user interface make it a joy to use. Passive positive: Looks are not a factor but I'm glad it looks great; it does inspire. However, I'm the photographer, not the model, so I don't buy a camera as a poser. What a shallow reason to buy it. Who lets influencers and commenters peer pressure them? Jeeze. The need to fit-in strips individuality. I digress. I would add the X100 to my gear for its portability, but it's not much smaller than an XT5. No way is that minor size convenience and lack of lenses worth the cost of my XT5 body. The X100 is a < $600 camera. It is smarter to get the XT5 and a lens at that point. Plus, posers would be +3 points over their competition to flaunt the XT5 😂 don't cheap out on your image it says you're lesser. 😆 I'm glad Fuji sells so many over priced X100s tho... they get more money to improve their auto focus, which is a real negative to cover action based photography for many.

Picked up a Leica Q2 this year after selling off all my other gear and I have to say it’s hands down the best/favorite camera I’ve ever owned. The files are amazing and the lens definitely has that look to it. I actually loveeeee the high contrast BW SOOC as well. The only downside of the entire camera imo is the damn file sizes. I really wish they had a compressed raw option to get them down under 50mb. Usually my dng files are around 85-90mb.

The Q2 fantastic colour rendition, well-crafted tactile experience and how simple it feels to pick up and snap memories away is something that does not get brought up enough when comparing the Q series against the M lineup.
