Glad you and Karl made it back safe
Epic adventure!
Just wowww Thank you for sharing
Have a good time buddy wish I was there with ya.
Thank you! You’re only a short drive away if you’re feeling spunky 😉
have a blast!
Thank you!!
Hi, thanks for the video. Where can I buy the kit?
Are you talking the stuff I did the lift with? Honestly it’s just the hardware store. 6x screw eye bolts (4 in rafters, 2 in 2x4) 1x 2x4 4x 200lb straps Bag of zip ties
ty sir very thorough
Thank you for watching!
Still a bit bummed I can't make it.
I’m bummed too!
@@karlthemnjeep Dumb home repairs lol
This looks awesome! Wish it would be in 2025! 😊
Thank you so much for the video. I couldn't have done it without it. My first time installing my soft top. Thank you. 😊
Absolutely! I’m glad it could help!
Cold mountain was the biggest challenge we did all day Friday. My buddy did the left route and did the right. Man it is a nice park.
Right? For whatever reason researching before I went, it didn’t seem super built out, but after rolling through it it’s a really nice park. I really enjoyed Cold Mountain - I feel like I need another two full days back at SMORR to really get through the rest of the trails though.
@@karlthemnjeep for sure I live a couple hours away. I always thought it was all tore up and washed out. I was surprised how fun it was and how my mild Jeep did. I’m going back soon for sure.
@@karlthemnjeep Cold mountain seemed under rated. Once you get down to that valley you are commited. That climb out is not for the weak of heart.
Thats a lot of trails.
Some would say I have a problem. Hahahahaha
We just got back from Windrock. We were there for the Jeep Adventure Academy. Had a blast.
That sounds like an awesome time! Just makes you want to go back right?!?
What trails did you do there?
@@karlthemnjeep Absolutely want to go back. They didn't tell us the trail numbers. I didn't know much about the park until after we left. They guided us from near the general store through the camp grounds. Both of the trails came out near the yurts. One trail had a large rock that we had to climb and the other had a huge mud pit and a steep hill that we had to come down, but otherwise, it was mostly hills and rocks.
What year is your JKU?
2018. Front half of the changeover year.
@@karlthemnjeep Excellent video! Thanks.
Thank you!
Looks like a beautiful place to be
The mountains are just flat out amazing. Following the Continental Divide trail gives you a great way to enjoy sampling of the backcountry without having to guess at routes.
Meeeeeeee
You know it LOL
I think it would be more fun to take a $2000 Ford Taurus at full speed.
BWAHAHAHAHAHA yes!!!!
I enjoyed this video, and informative, too! I never knew this place existed. I will check it out.
Only 9 hours for us!
Good video Andy. I’ll go subscribe to your channel.
Thank you so much Jeremy!
@@karlthemnjeep no problem. If you get a chance check mine out. Maybe I’ll see ya out on the trails one day!
@AdventureJeremy doing that right now. Keep me in the loop for your plans, I always love to meet people wheeling!
@@karlthemnjeep will do. I’ve got a couple of places in Oklahoma I have to hit soon. Then hoping to get to Arizona and Moab in the fall.
@@AdventureJeremy Disney OK is on my list, everyone tells me to go ASAP.
great video.. that place looks awesome...I need to get down there sometime..
I’ve been to quite a few places - this one definitely ranks near the top for signage and cleanliness.
Good times! I’ll be heading there in a couple weeks to check it out
You’ll have a blast!
I definitely need to get out there
Yeah you do. Only a short drive for ya!
Great content! Thanks!
Thank you so much for watching! Have a great weekend. 👍👍
Great video. Don’t remember some things And I was there!?!?
That’s the beauty of always recording stuff. Memories fade but video is as good as your backup solution lol
Looks like you had a great time
I did! Quite overwhelming honestly, but looking forward to next year.
Not going to lie, a little envious...that must have been a wonderful time. Did yo go up and meet Brittany and Kevin? Towing Stepchild too! I thought Eric's acceptance speech was really cool too. You all did great representing Minnesota's wheeling game!
It was pretty cool. No - queue that “crippling anxiety and staring weird” part. Bwahahaha
Awesome! Thanks for being there!
This was a great video, once again. The games looked amazing and it'd be cool to actually make it there someday. I'd love to give Karl some company it if works out. Eric is an amazing person, one of my son's fas! I'm glad you were there to capture those moments.
What a great time thanks for sharing!!!
More great times to come!
awesome experience
Yeah it was pretty awesome - one of those experiences you play back in your head after and realize what you actually were a part of!
Looking good
Goooood luck!!!!!
I really like having the oil filter accessible like the 3.6 has, I wish it wasn't prone to leakage.
I’ve been lucky not to have any leak issues from that - save for the housing cracking or something more serious, I just make sure to replace the O-ring at every change and coat it with a thin layer of new oil.
Great video man! Windrock local here! Wanted to make a couple points and answer questions for your next visit. Traditionally I think trail 51 is run in the other direction, enter via 116 and head east, that first ledge you went down is still a pretty hard climb last time I rode it, easy to lose a tail light going up. Don’t worry about the pipelines, they have a trail maintenance crew that is very active in keeping the operational pipelines covered up (those are money makers after all) so if you see it sticking out that much it’s almost certainly not in use. Keep your gear secure at the hotels, I don’t stay there myself, but I hear reports of items stolen off trucks/sxs when parked overnight at area hotels, highly recommend the windrock cabins tho. You likely made the right decision on turning off 16, immediately after that the ruts get even deeper and walls get real up close to your rig, claiming fenders/mirrors on occasion. Next time you’re here I highly recommend hitting trail 11, 82 and 83! Happy wheeling!
Thank you SO MUCH for that comment! Super helpful answers - PHEW on the turnoff hahahahahaha
Hello All. Great Job!
Hey, thanks!
Ypu all look tired! are ypu gonna be ready March 12??
You know it!! It’ll crawl, and it’ll be safe. May not look like a parade float, but honestly that’s by design. Ha!
Cannot wait to fill up the hood with names!
It’s going to look soooo good!
I remember BSF Recovery Team out for the Minnesota Gambler 500 and hauling back when a rig lost their axel.
Yikes! They always do get you out!
Thanks for the Ladies Rock Off-Road Club shout out. BSF Recovery Team has always been there when we got in trouble on the trails!!
You bet! Thank you so much for the support, it means so much!
Great vid! Would you know if there were any open diffs with you guys?
Thank you for watching! Actually yes - two ways to answer your question. We all have some sort of locker - lunchbox-style, air, and electronic, but we always run things open and use the lockers only if we get stymied or it’s a trail that isn’t safe to use without. Most if not all of the blue and green trails at Windrock are absolutely good to do with open diffs. Some of the single blacks are even doable - the double blacks are not.
Safe travels.. get it done! cant wait to see more videos
Thanks Chris! Keep those notifications on!
Have a blast!!🎉
Thank you! This will be awesome!
Nice
Thank you for watching!
So AWESOME!!! Enjoy the ride…can’t wait to watch!
I KNOW! I’m so excited to be a part of it!
What hotel did you stay at?
We stayed at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Oak Ridge. There are a lot of options around there as well as AirBnBs.
Hey that is me in the video.. I was there that day in the black WJ...
Looking good! See you this year up on the range!
Looks fun
Of course!!!!!
Can’t in 2024 - daughter getting married! 2025!?
Hoping to go. Just gotta work out the dates.
One of these days I'll make it that far west!
It’s a haul for sure - but you’ll fall in love with the area. The trails themselves aren’t enough for a long trip, but Mt. St Helens, Crater Lake, Cannon Beach - there is A LOT just in Oregon that you can do.
Was a blast as always wheeling with you. Looking forward to the Eclipse run in April.
Same here!
Eclipse run... do tell!
@@Rystical1 The April 8th eclipse goes over both Hot Springs Off Road park in Arkansas, and Redbird SRA in Indiana
@kizoku5103 oh man! The hot springs in Arkansas are such a natural beauty... I can only imagine how AMAZING it is to be surrounded by them in jeep@
It's pretty awesome at Hot Springs! Definitely something for your list!
