This video is an invitation to embark on a journey where the wilderness becomes a canvas for exploration and introspection. The scenes of overlanding through rugged terrains and then finding solace in the quietude of camping evoke a sense of wonder for the untamed world. It's a testament to the harmony that exists between humans and nature.

You are so welcome, and thank you for the kind words! Keep an eye out, I have a good number of additional videos in editing and scheduled to drop about Colorado, Missouri, Oregon, and Montana in the coming weeks.
My wife and I did all the exciting drives in the Ouray area (except Poughkeepsie and Black Bear) in the last decade. Loved it. This fall, we intend to go back and see the colors of fall. Will take it easy by just doing Last Dollar Road and Owl Creek Pass. It will probably be my last time down there (yes, I'm getting old). I can hardly wait. Thanks for the video!

Holy moly that will be a beautiful drive and trip. Enjoy that trip and thank you so much for watching!
Sucks that Black Bear was closed for you. I've traveled out there from Florida three years in a row and did Black Bear each time. 2020, 2021, 2022. I'm obsessed with that trail! Great video!

Yeah it was a tricky year for sure. Ophir and Imogene opened just the week prior, I was on the groups weekly watching with alternate routes on top of alternate routes - crazy! So much drama over BBP this year, hopefully it’ll be open next year when I get back to take Poughkeepsie! Thanks for watching!
Went down there the 10th of July that whole area is spectacular. Ophir was still closed on the west side black closed, imogene had just opened the day we left, but you don't have to try very hard to find scenery in the area. Thanks for sharing

Yeah Black Bear and Poughkeepsie were closed or partially closed when we were there (about 9 days after you) but you’re absolutely spot on, it’s gorgeous EVERYWHERE. Driving back to the flatlands I wonder why I don’t live there.
We drive these trails 2x yearly and then watch good videos like this in between.. thanks for sharing.

This was my first time - but I’d love to be able to return very soon! Thank you so much for watching and your comment, more videos soon!
1:04 Great Video! Fun to watch the travels of a fellow Minnesotan! I’ve been wanting to do BBP - wondering if you would take any more in your group whenever you plan to head back!?

It looks incredible out there. That's an area that I've been wanting to hit for years, but have never been able to make it happen. How late in the year would you say is too late to go there?

It is absolutely amazing, so much more than what video or pictures can really show. This has been a weird year - from what I’ve read from people, October is when things start to close down with snow in the upper elevations. There is a “San Juan mountain trails” group on Facebook that is an amazing resource!
