FJX2000 Productions

Hey guys! Welcome to my channel!

Here you'll find videos mostly consisting of FJ Cruiser-related content, from my off-road adventures in my personal FJ Cruiser to informational guides about different FJ topics meant to help people learn everything they can about FJs. I also have a handful of train videos since my other passion is railroading. I just hope you find what you like here and consider subscribing to the FJX2000 community.

If you want any info on either of my FJ Cruisers, look up the FJCruiserForums.com and search for FJX2000. I am on my second FJ now which is a 2008 Trail Teams Special Edition FJ Cruiser and the first one was a 2007 TRD Special Edition FJ Cruiser.

    Worth to mention, open your old actuator if you find rust you must check the second part of the breathing hose which goes from the hard tube in the chassie to the breathing valve close to the battery, the problem with that it is tight and have tendency to break from the hard line side. This mistake cost me two actuators in less than a year. The hose must be replaced with a little longer and a strong hose. Thanks for the great content.

    07 fj with 3 inch lift on 33's takes me, the wife, and 2 adventure dogs all over America, in all terrain, any trails, like a champ at 187000 miles and still runs like new. Never once been stuck. No hate on the Landcruiser but FJ all the way

    VERY timely video. Thank you for this. I was in Telluride yesterday and went to the old power plant/Bridal Veil Falls on the 2-way section of Black Bear Pass trail. When i got to the top to turn around, i discovered that i only had 2 wheel drive. I had made it up in "2-low". 😂Luckily my rear locker still engaged. No more trails until i get i get this handled.

    My 11 was sticking in 4th. Added Amsoil Severe Gear. Shifts like butter now. I’m not affiliated with the company, but that Severe Gear is pretty good chemically with its additives.

    Took my 07 to fix a leak on the transfer case. They told me at the shop to activate 4wd occasionally because the actuator can go bad. I told him that my vehicle was full-time 4wd and he didn't believe me. So, as of right now, I don't think the MT has an actuator.

  • @alabamafbfan1985
    @alabamafbfan19853 күн бұрын

    The 6speed mt at least has a transfer case position sensor that can go bad if not used often. I shift mine into 4 low and move alittle bit at least every 3-4 months (mines not a daily driver) Also using the locker that often helps make sure it continues to not freeze up and quit working.

    I own a 07 FJ Cruiser with over 190K miles, Love the Iconic retro look and unique design, Yes the LC is a complete redesign and new style beauty but here is the stuff I dont like about LC, exterior specially the back looks more like a Jeep Cherokee, and dont like the spare tire under the body, dont like the E brake electronic system (feels like I am driving a BMW X3 or a Hyundai) I have used the hand brake many times during off roading and no idea why during off roading a true SUV needs a Turbo charged engine when straight or V6 can handle the torque, isn't the turbo kicks after 2500 RPM or am I missing something? Isn't supercharged better option than the Turbo? Also why 4 CYL Turbo Hybrid?! Ummmm... look like a prius.Well LC is def roomier specially the back seats and is user friendly. I have update this beast and love it very much, anytime anywhere I go people stare on my FJC and asking if its for sale. Overall I like the LC and am very happy finally Toyota came up with something new to compare with new Defender and Jeep. At the end I will stick with my FJ since it has much less electronics. Welcome back Land Cruiser!

    Did your vent tube have a check valve on it originally or just a screw plugging it? Just curious. I've got a 2013 and love it. Good video.

    So the vent tube originally would've been connected to the actuator, but when mine broke off, and I put a screw in the tube to keep it clear and a sealed the actuator with silicon.

    Noticed you have most of your consual filled with switches that are normally blanks from the factory. Where do you purchace these? Everyone I have bought are too large to fit.

  • @FJX2000_Productions
    @FJX2000_Productions7 күн бұрын

    There are companies that sell switches/buttons that are designed to fit the OEM spaces, or you can even find and utilize OEM switches for aftermarket things like lights. Check out ch4x4.com/ for some options when it comes to aftermarket buttons.

    When I have my first first '07 FJ cruiser. I had a similar problem. But all the ad actuators will have this problem. Eventually. Toyota does not solder the electric motor that turns the gears whenever you put it in the four-wheel drive which will slide the sleeve to the left or to the right depending on if you're going into four-wheel drive or out of four-wheel drive. I actually took mine apart. Tested the motor and it actually worked. It was just that the tabs been away from the connection and it would not allow it to have connection. So I end up soldering the tabs and never had a problem again. Plus I took the gears apart and put new lithium Grease inside the case. Resealed it.

    I’m sure there might be, but it would likely require disassembly of the unit and soldering new LEDs in or something like that since I don’t think there are bulbs you can simply replace

    Interesting. I think the upright square look is wonderful. Mine has very little wind noise at even freeway speeds and I have a rack. I pay less for gas on my FJ than all the other cars. That happens due to me driving it less, but then it's a fun car. I thought the view would be a problem but quickly got use to it. I suspect others will also if they like the car otherwise. To most of us interested in this car it won't be as an electronic safety bristling child carrier. Less is more. Thanks for those notes at the end. I got mine for around $20k used with 50k miles and I think it's worth twice that now. Like you said, there is no plan to sell it.
