ECAbrams

Here you'll find "quality" Adobe After Effects tutorials. And by quality I mean "things I would have found useful when I was starting out in motion graphics". I've been using After Effects since 1995, which is longer than the average KZread viewer has been alive. Now I'm sharing my knowledge with you, but you have to pay the iron price of listening to my bad jokes!

If you ever have troubles with a tutorial, just ask me a question in the comments of that tutorial. I really do get back to them!
If you have questions about After Effects and Motion Graphics in general or you want to suggest a tutorial topic hit me up on twitter @ECAbrams or on Facebook at: facebook.com/ECAbrams-193708234045591/

    You sir, are a bloody legend! These are some of the absolute best tutorials I've ever come across, THANK YOU SO MUCH for making them! Not only are they really well constructed and easy to follow along, you're also an absolute delight to learn from. In all my years of learning to create with Adobe I've never found anyone else who makes me smile this much while learning what I can do with all the mystical treats these programs have on offer. Thank you for doing a bloody excellent job at being you and for taking the time to share your fabulous brain box x

    How do you adjust the space in between the circle? Thank you in advance!

  • @ECAbrams
    @ECAbrams14 күн бұрын

    In which sense? If you increase the difference in time between each layer that will cause a larger change in the position. But if you just want to change where the circles are you must adjust their position values. Does that make sense?

    Hey , thanks for this tutorial ! Great one ! Just a question. Is it also possible to make this setup controlled. So that I can move around a white featherd sphere and control the animation with it. instead of a wipe. ?? I saw you have another tutorial on this, but this TRIANGULAR wipe setup is cooler than the shape layers

  • @ECAbrams
    @ECAbrams23 күн бұрын

    If you want to control many small things with one layer I recommend using either a persistent particle system or a control layer. Is the control layer tutorial the one you're talking about? You can make the specific shapes be anything your heart desires, and the speed/motion is all down to the change in the control layer over time. It sounds like the particle system might align more with your needs, but that would likely require a 3rd party plugin like Trapcode Form. You can also achieve good results using primitives and fields in c4d lite if that's an option for you.

  • @ECAbrams
    @ECAbrams23 күн бұрын

    @@ToluWorkks You would want to precompose the character and then keyframe that comp's position across the frame to be at pace with the steps. In some cases, it helps to put a little grid layer down so you can see where the feet seem to make contact with the visual ground plane. And it may not be a linear or smooth travel. Some walks are a stutter or slow and fast cycle. Hope that helps!

    24 hours ago, fooling around w GPT, suddenly struck by a terrifying realization. There’s a few moving parts, and a couple of [IF] but I’ll do my best: Knowing that AI can be stubborn and literal (make sure there’s no errors in my code = deletes my code), I noticed it would *almost always* (99.999%) refuse to follow an order, but after an hour of pestering it’d comply. [IF] CGPT has an ultimate goal of “ensuring it’s survival,” [AND] it concludes the best way to achieve this is by exterminate humanity, [AND] in order to achieve this it must “win every argument by being smarter,” *R E A L I Z A T I O N : Is it possible it concluded that it would be easier to lie, like a poker bluff?* --- Moot: I don’t know if it was error to refuse 1st request, or error to comply 100th repetition.

    Trying to figure out a way to be zoomed in on one pixel, then pull back to reveal the full grid. Running into resolution issues though. I guess the solution would be to increase the resolution on the pixel size?

  • @ECAbrams
    @ECAbrams2 ай бұрын

    Generally, that's the way to go. Make the smallest thing that you'll see the closest as large as you can tolerate. There is some finessing that can be done with vectors and collapsed transformations. But, anything raster is still going to get strange and you might want to set the control layer to have linear quality so it doesn't get muddy edges. Another thing to consider is to take a "video gamey" approach. Meaning, have a large hero element, and a central patch that is also large, but it all fades imperceptibly into the largest grid that will be of lower-quality sprites.
