Learning cinema 4d from a motion designer's perspective makes it wayy more approchable and meaningful
Thank you Evan. This series is exactly what I needed. Many years ago yours' were the first tutorials I watched in order to learn AE, and now you are the first to teach me C4D. I owe you a lot, let me tell you!! I'm really looking forward to the other parts of this series!
Looking forward to upcoming videos! Diving into 3D has always seemed quite mysterious, so thank you for demystifying. Excited to follow along.
Dude. Excellent tut. It was like the NYTs 36 questions to bring you closer to someone. The tut is so perfectly self-contained, yet provides a launch-point for getting more familiar with C4D without wasting time for those who may know some of the broader concepts. Thanks for tying the concepts to the more familiar (to me) Ae. Looking forward to the rest of the series!
This is BY FAR the best c4d intro video I have seen. Great job 👏🏽
A great refresher as I'd like to use C4Dlite more. Thank you! Looking forward to the series.
Been staring at Cinema 4d lite for 3 years and opened it for the first time because of this video. Thank you so much!

Thank you Evan. This is a much needed series.

C4D is hard, and very complicated, and, I am wanting the relationship with AE. Finally, the walkthrough/tutorial with the information I want, at a pace and phrased in a way I can understand. Thank you!
Solid tutorial!! Definitely some gems in the mix, and worth the watch before I get into the next few that will likely push beyond what I already know.

Really a good tuto. I tried eight absolutely lousy tutorials before I found yours but yours is excellent. Thanks a lot.

finally a proper tutorial for Cinema4D
ah nice I really like your way of teaching so I can finally learn something about 3d, thanks!
Amazing tutorial! Thank you
Well done, an excellent look at the interface. I'll spend some time following along with the video. Although the terminology is different in places, the concepts are very familiar to those in Ae. Coming from Ps, smart objects and layers, adjustment and others, translate nicely. Ai's new 3D interface is an enticing panel I want to explore to make 3d objects. It's such a wonderful time for animators and creatives. Thank you for this series, I'm looking forward to the next installment. Have a great day. Rick.

Thank you so much. I hope there is enough clear jargon explanation in the series that people can at lest speak to the program and think in the right terms to find what they're after when things go wrong. Look for more coming soon!
This is exactly what I need.

Thanks for this tutorial! 4D is a pretty complicated program that I've always been intimidated by, but this breaks things down in pretty digestible detail. One question- at 09:56, for some reason the first option that shows up when I click and hold this icon in my interface says "brush selection" rather than "live selection" Is there a difference in this case?
Omg! I didnt know that this comes with after effects :D so happpppyyyy

Really great tutorial! Do you have an ETA when parts 4 and 5 will be available?
I love you
Hi thank you for this tutorial. Can i use this method of bringing a c4d animation from the full version of c4d into ae as well? Like with cineware? I tried doing this and the animation i made in c4d becomes glitchy as soon as I add an after effects comp camera.
@ECAbrams

It should work identically. What happens when you use the comp camera method? That might be something covered in a layer video in this series? There are certainly things to consider when using comp camera vs a centred comp camera for example.

@@ECAbrams Hi thanks for the reply. The animation isn't smooth and it skips back and forth. The animation may even look different from how it is within c4d..I've tried looking everywhere and I cant find any help. c4d lite works fine but its the full version of c4d i have this issue with.
Hi Evan, my AE doesn't want to automatically open the C4D app , it seems like C4D wants us now to create a new account with them, did they change this recently?
@ECAbrams
Жыл бұрын
As in creating a second Maxon account? I think we've always needed one, and you should just need to log into it and link the c4d lite license to it. But, Maxon is notoriously bad with their license app. It breaks... often.
What Windows theme is that? Looks nice!
Hi can you please help me. I have a background object question. When my camera orbits...the background is static. It doesnt perspectively move with the cameras movement. Any idea what I need to do please? Like if the camera moves around. I want the background image to move as well. (I have a texture on the background with seamless and tile options turned on) im reallly stuck and it seems like a simply solution but i cant find anything online.
@ECAbrams

I believe that is the limitation of the Background object itself. The image will not respond to camera changes. You will want to use the sky object to create and infinite sphere with your texture on it that will respond to camera movement. I hope that helps clear up what is happening.

I had an issue when using an OBJ file. The object showed up completely black. I did some searching but none of the help videos worked. My computer is up to spec, I have an i9 processor and a geforce 1080, so it should run. Anyone here run into this and find a fix?
@ECAbrams
2 жыл бұрын
It's a common problem. You need to go into the Materials and look where the various channels are looking at for the various textures. Most likely you need to reconnect all the file paths to the right place relative to the c4d project. It's like when a .aep can't find the footage it needs for a project. I hope that helps.
My After Effects is fully licensed with Adobe Cloud. When i try to open a cinema4d file from after effects, i get presented with a login screen. When i connect with facebook, i get the option to activate either a trial version of C4D or the Lite version., when i press the Activate button for the Lite version, it gives me the message: "Error - unable to purchase the license 'Cinema 4D - Lite'!" - Anyone know how to fix this?
@ECAbrams

You may want to download the Maxon app that manages licenses and use that to control which license is active.
It’s so hard to pay attention to this video cause I’m so use to blender
please try to slowly explain things first , you are just moving too quick
okay, i'll skip it. the whole video is an ad
