Valid criticisms here Bando. One Page Rules has really won me over for these things, and when I want to scratch that plastic assembly itch, I look at gunpla or tamiya type kits. The engineering on those gunpla kits is amazing!

wow, bitching about 26 degrees C which is 78.8 deg F - thats spring/fall weather where i live get over it, its literally 2.2 degrees F warmer than the outside of your skin - if you cant handle that - then you cant handle much of anything
except im in a small room with no ventilation with a 1000w powersupply and a top end graphics card blaring out heat. im also in a building built for insulation and have no AC. No all of us live in cardboard boxes with wall mounted AC.

It's a bad idea. Instagram owns your photos on there. They can do whatever they want with them.
I don't post a lot and even my other platforms like Artstation and soon to be Cara don't have much. I just keep it all to myself unless an instructor or some one asks to see it. I do use Adobe products and they're under fire for the same thing, except being way more vague and shady with what it entails. However, those are the products that are standard and most studios use so.... I can't really switch too easily. I'm just going to be doing whatever work I can and post whenever I feel like it at this point. The whole AI thing at the time being doesn't have much use in the professional world and if it does is usually met with distain (like marvel's secret invasion trailer) or is usually used during really early on bluesky phase or as a texturizer for painting (like some of the backgrounds in Netflix's "A Dog and a Boy". Still lots of human decisions and work, but augmented with AI. I super dislike a lot of these tech companies obsession with AI and their eagerness to jump on the bandwagon of trying to replace very important positions with it. However the companies I have set my sights on working for (western companies) like Marvel who's illustration and concept Team has fostered a culture for "painting everything", I'm not too worried about AI, more worried about being better than any AI algorithm could be.
Had many a project left/abandoned due to lack of time or wasn't going the way I wanted it to... But I'm starting to get back to finishing them as it's better to have something finished and acceptable rather than abandoned waiting for perfection. 👍

I know that feeling, spent a few years trying to develop a chapters color scheme yet time and again never liked the efforts. Sometimes coming back later or accepting what ya got is best, who knows might click later on or serve someone else well. Recently after all this time did I finally happen on something I could 'live' with, which helped get me going on the project once more much to my own frustrations. Regardless I still think your efforts are good, often our worst critics are ourselves. Least in my experience its been myself. Have a lovely day!

The problem is what you said a the start of the video. you took two years to work on this squad. But also as you mentioned it was clearly not two years of constant work, in the two years it took you to finish them you probably didnt really spend that much time painting them... the problem with this hobby is that you are expecting your models and paint jobs to look the way your have seen other peoples look which is not a reasonable goal becasue these other people have spent 10x more time then you have learning to paint. You have to be honest and fair with yourself. what more tutorial on how to paint and spend the time getting better. alot of people who are very good at painitng warhammer did not start with paitning warhammer. many people who want to get into playing warhammer table top do not actually want to get into painting, and if they do they don't realize how much time commitment it takes to really see painting results your looking for. Like anything your need to practice, only 1% of people are coming out of nowhere with 0 experience being able to paint like you are imagining. Again it takes time, and in the day and age of constant dopamine hits you need to just relax. find a way to spend more time painitng, maybe have a tv show on that relaxes you. but please please watch more how to paint videos and just spend more time.

Use a "fixitive spray" dont varnish. Varnish will turn brown or yellow over time or is even oil based

... if you you want to pick it up again at some point in the future, I would guess to complete your concept, they just need deeper contrast, particularly inside/concave edges. Trace them with a dark or even black ink. not like, an outline style, but inline. If you know what I mean. Makes them pop more and even look more like the art, giving them a lot more of the mentioned contrast, even without any additional highlights. The more I look at them, the more I like them. Maybe try out my suggestion on one greave of one model, to see how you like it. Or, don't. I have some obsessive personality tendencies so you probably really positively should not listen particularly to me if you want to put them away.😆 Anyways, I love concept models/units like that and for what it's worth, well done, even if you're frustrated with them.

Sketchy in the literal sense of like a quick drawing capturing the essence of the motif, not the usual figurative one.😆 ... for the anglophones like you, the j in Vallejo is like the German "ch". Yeah, I go through bouts if being creative and getting things done, then suddenly hitting a brick wall that can last for months or years. I have a few minis that have sat in the WIP box for way too long simply because im not vibing with them and its not turning out well so I just say fuck it. Is it healthy way to deal with it? No idea. But eventually, that creative fire reignites itself. And it happens with all my hobbies, so that's annoying.
Primaris rollout lowered my spirits but I still want to get painting. Your conversions do look tedious to paint.
