I think the chase for internet fame instead of having privacy and just contributing by creating things and having self respect and respect for others has been the downfall of many good things. I look at Asians and they at the very least cover their faces because they don't want to be super-stars, they have a life as well and they understand that life doesn't revolve around them. And these are full grown adults who want to show their face like they are some very important brand.

I have no airbrush and I haven't painted anything in close to a year + now, which I hate, but I have bigger responsibilities at the moment... Least of all my Bees.

"How did you get that gray?" Oh, that's chalkboard paint. Actual conversation. I treat painting my models like modern art. Why does everything have to be paint? I did an army in water color pencils and markers.

I've done similar. For a small band of Blackshields I was doing just as a model-study/random idea, I actually used ash from a paper-fire as paint for certain layers of my scheme, and used a lot of that same ash for my basing as well. They came out wonderfully

painting tutorial reviews is crazy

It's not satire. It's not a parody. NOBODY does cruel & shitty react videos to painting tutorials, so he is "satirizing" something that doesn't exist. Also, if literally nobody recognizes a piece of media as satire... then it's not. He's made this type of cruel react video for several other painting tutorials. Reading this guy's responses in the comments makes it pretty clear that he's just immature. Typing "satire" in the description isn't a license to be a total dingus. ;-)

Failure in anything is almost obligatory I'd say. I've made mistakes painting, I make all the mistakes when playing music, but it's learning from those mistakes that's important. When it comes to giving criticism to somebodies paintjobs, I just find some people go too hard on it such as comparing us to the tops of the field and professional painters. Most of us are not anywhere near there, but we all have our own painting style whether that's what we want it or not. And as far as I'm concerned, and it's taken me many years to realise this, is that: A less than ideal paint job that's finished is better than a perfect paint job that'll never be finished.

That whole story was embarrassing for everyone involved.

In general the painting community can be incredibly soy and like to think there is no bad paintjobs ect. However JH miniatures was straight up adding nothing, there was nothing constructive. Saying "hey this looks very flat try adding some brighter highlights here and here" works wonders, getting salty over oil paints is straight up soy from the other angle haha Trovarian does some really nice videos about viewers models that have been sent in and gives heaps of constrictive advice, JH should have taken inspiration from that

I might be wrong but panning hard to the left for the voice over was the biggest hint it was a shitpost. He forgot to add an unregistered hypercam 2 watermark tho But onto using tools in weird ways, thinned magos purple over flesh tone (then flesh washing) was the greatest secret I ever stumbled over for painting skin. I assume its a very similar theory behind doomfire

7:46 I cracked up, ha Not trying to be rude, but some of his comments honestly make me wonder if he's rizzin' too. If he's not joking, he seems super rigid-minded. This product MUST be used THIS way, you SHOULD use GW washes and tidy up after instead of using oils, etc. I'm not autistic though, so I might be talking out of my ass.

so the first video he did like this the Trovarion was a genuine review because that video is gore, however it was really obvious that going forward it was a shit post

I always dilute speed/contrast paints.

i like to plop some down then use contrast medium to push it around panel by panel to ensure that the high surfaces and panels dont get tidemarks or coffee stains etc.

I know the guy IRL. And I told James about this however as we talked about it, James had told me he gets more views doing these stupid cringy reaction vidios on youtube then anything genuine.
