Declutter Your Life with Tonia

Declutter Your Life with Tonia

Are you ready to learn how to let go, get back into your natural rhythm and reconnect to your passion, power and purpose!
I support and guide you in letting go of the parts of your past that keep you stuck, stressed and overwhelmed. My process allows you to let go so you can get back into your power, feel calm, clear and more confident.

What’s in your backpack? We all have clutter in our lives, especially if we don’t take the time to unpack our backpack of life and become aware of what’s no longer needed. I’ve been doing inner exploration for over 20 years and found that we get stuck and trapped in our past, preventing us from creating in the present moment.

Who says that “inner work” always has to be hard, stressful or scary. Why not look at life as play, fun and a way to be curious about all the possibilities. With the right guidance, support and direction it can be an experience that you enjoy!

    One of the main reasons for clutter and hoarding is non-mental illness related disability. You need to differentiate between these causes before you start telling people to do inner work. Disabled people need material support and accommodation and have already been pathologized enough about how our issues are our own fault because we didn't try hard enough. We LITERALLY need to change the environment and what's outside, NOT what's inside. It's the entire key to sustainable change. I did not have the support or accommodations I needed and my house was messed up because of it. I started to get my needs met by outside changes and now my house is clean. Be careful what you tell people

I Just Want to point out that when you' Say "this Is not a meditation, because you' are really present and aware, you' are not trying to relax", you are actually saying what real meditation Is about. Meditation Is in fact awareness of oneself, presence, observation of whatever sensations might arise in the body without judging.

    I have a friend who is such a sweetheart that I love spending time with, but who often wants to meet in a store( except for one time when we went to a museum). I find that I wind up buying something every time that I see her and spend money that I don't really have to spend. She always mentions that she is a "bad influence", because she tells me that I "should have" whatever I am looking at.Yesterday when we met, I set my intentions beforehand that I wanted a clean and uncluttered home and that I have everything that I need. I wound up window shopping with her and I didn't spend a dime, but still had an amazing time. I have been an on and off minimalist for 15 years, but someone who always allows to clutter to creep back in so I am so glad that I found your channel, as it will keep me honest and allow me to be cognisant of my behaviors that keep allowing my home to become cluttered agin.

    Could you expound on what you mean by seeing if that matches? 8:25 Also, asking yourself - what is that whole thing around ‘my friend’? Meaning, that could be an example of the trauma you’re connecting with? Or friend - meaning the part of your body that’s asking for attention? 7:26

  • @declutteryourlifewithtonia
    @declutteryourlifewithtonia2 ай бұрын

    @Llorali thanks for the great questions! I'll do my best to explain in message form. SEEING IF THERE IS A MATCH: - is when you've connected with something inside of you, something that came up when you thought about a particular problem OR decided to sit and see what came up and wanted to be looked at (given attention to) - THEN you try to describe this something that you notice - once you describe it, you check to see if it matches the felt sense ie. you feel something in your chest when you think about work. Then you describe it as tightness and compressing and see if that matches the felt sense around work - when there is a match to what you are experiencing and how you describe it you may feel an aha moment, a physical/energy shift or nothing other than yes, that's right

  • @declutteryourlifewithtonia
    @declutteryourlifewithtonia2 ай бұрын

    @Llorali for the other questions What is that whole things around 'my friend'? - the part of the video that you referenced I was referring to how you connect with what is showing up in that moment. You sit with what is there without trying to change it, keeping it company as a companion or how a friend would sit with you - if want to ask yourself "what is that whole thing around my friend", yes this is a great example to connect with a trauma and see what the body is ready to tell you AND what part of you needs attention. Let me know if that helps clarify:) -

    For the last few weeks I have reduced my personal belongings by fifty percent and I became aware of the issue when I had to unexpectedly move. I'm so glad for the internet and the sense of community that there is. I grew up the poor kid and I called it poverty trauma cause I didn't know what else to call it and I didn't know there was such a thing because because this behavior has been normalized by the older generations that taught me. I knew that just getting rid of stuff was not gonna fix the problem because It wasn't the stuff in my way that was the problem. It was why was it there to be in my way in the first place. I've noticed as I shed off the old knee that there is so much resistance when I talk about this subject to certain people. I'm doing all this because it has brought so much happiness and I cannot imagine my life without this happiness that I have felt in the last few weeks. More so I could not imagine going through my life and only discovering this happiness when it is too late and leaving it for someone else to clean up when I'm gone.

    I thought the same thing, but then also I had to admit, that it is because ppl don't do/behave how I want them to. My expectations didn't match reality and that is what hurt me, not them necessarily. There are still ppl who help wholeheartedly, I know because I do, when I see someone in need/feel sorry for someone. BUT I will end my help ASAP when I sense ppl using me / continue to stay /do whatever brought them into the miserable situation. It is not because I have an agenda, but self-protection. Also it won't help them and I can't change them nor won't I. So I assume there are others like that, trying their best and being empathetic to a certain degree. If we don't try to trust we will end up only trusting our pets😂 it is what I currently do, haha, and my husband. But I know I am slowly healing and need to be humble about my own faults and the disappointment I might have been to others. We all have. It was THEIR expectations that missed my understanding. Many misunderstandings and arrogance will add up to this. In German a disappointment is called a 'de - deception' / de-illusion' it is actually a GOOD thing!😂 We have in combined with pain and tears when it should free us and be helpful. I can so relate to you, but I will work on it. Still love animals more than ppl 😂😂😂
