  There's benefits to joining the military...(especially if you slack in your later teenage years/young adult years) its the corporations and politicians that spoil the spirit of service.

  So before there is a draft there is Stop loss, it happened in 2005/6 and that’s when we were in a conflict (war). so I don’t see a draft happening until we are deep into another conflict after they are done screwing over the people that already enlisted to the max. Then maybe they will come for you and keep dreaming in a female draft. Ain’t happening anytime soon

  Trust me brethren.. draft will not blow over well. Also, unless there is another teddy roosevelt. No one is going to charge in, because the commander & chief lacks courage to charge into battle with the troops like teddy did. Besides, his values of big flexing & speaking softly is a true humble sign of strength.

  Served in the army , its not so much the woke. I think its more of people waking up and asking themselves why in the hell am i fighting for these dumbass politicans over stuff that they start. They try and turn it on you like youre not patriotic when you stand up and refuse to fight for them. Love my country , i will defend it and the constitution against all enemys foreign and domestic , but i refuse to sit back and watch the government brainwash people into thinking the way of the politician is the only way. What exactly are we fighting for right now thats more improtant than what we have going on in the homeland ?

  There ain't much to draft honestly currently only 13% of adults are eligible and most people are not eligible due obesity at the level basic couldn't fix in 3 months, mental health, medical issues, drug, chemical, and substances abuse, criminal history, most people under 35 are lazy, nihilistic, mentally ill, and critical of our government. Currenrly in gen z most are at a 3rd grade reading level and can't pass the navy asvab passing score of a 10. Another thing the pay is terrible compared to the civilian world now every company offers benefits so its no longer uniqie to the military. People who already make 100k-150k a year are not going to go in as E1 with 20k salary, and even at officer pay is low with those who have STEM degrees and make way more outside the military. People are driven by money if you offered 100k salary I garaintee all these slots would instantly be filled up.

  It’s extremely difficult to have a strong pool of recruits, and a strong national defense for that matter or a strong anything when you have a commander in chief that is so weak and feeble. That was on full display in last night’s presidential debate. Like our current president, our country is in severe decline.   Imo…With me, it’s the American interest differences. All the foreign war involvement and affairs. I wanna serve MY people. Not someone else’s in the name of security for THEIR oil and water wells. We have people invading from the south for decades with human traffickers and cartel. And yet they expect us to go fight some where else intervention isn’t as important. The military has been corporated as a market 1st and defense tool second. Not to down play those who have served. As they are honorable men. It’s more the fact the government lies to us to get us to fight for alternative motives in the name of freedom and for which we stand even though it doesn’t have much to do with it at all. We create proxy’s just to have to turn around a decade later and have to fight them. It never stops. We are about pushing influence WORLD WIDE, rather than what’s happening here. I’ve said this a million times, we have to handle what’s in our own yard and backyard before worrying about someone else’s yard across the street we call the ocean. Edit: This is my opinion on the matters. America comes first for Americans; And always should. Whether it’s economic, military, or socially. But right now. All three of those choices are be neglected. Foreign countries get aid in trillions and billions while our own don’t get squat. Example: Hawaii fire. Those people got like 700 dollars when they lost everything. Meanwhile Ukraine getting trillions, our weapons, our headlines. Our vets out on the streets, crime is skyrocketing. Homelessness is skyrocketing. Prices. 3 dollar OJ up to $7.50 right now. Americans are simply seeing through the ruse of being tools for others across the world when our own suffer. Also: I have a long line of family who has served. My uncle is a major. My grand father was a PFC. my great uncle fought in Korea. I’m not just someone spitting bs for the sake of it. I am saddened to know I won’t be joining them in that regard. Because my ideals and what they fought for don’t match what we are fighting for today. Also, I’m a tatted up single father. They wouldn’t accept me even if our ideals matched.

  Nope. Id rather continue to get my ish together at home. Only draft im hearing about is the wind and ill stand on that with ar or ak. Simple. I jusy dont see it happening esp with todays society. People cant afford kids, housing, healthcare, fuel, education. I dont know what russians they talking about too becuz they are VERY resilient people esp those in their military. I dont think people underatand theyll legit go til the end and last person.

  I consider my self leaning liberal but I am not opposed to some sort of mandatory service. Even in pacifist Switzerland service is a mandatory duty. The carrot one year higher education for each year served or get drafted and who knows what. I did three years, my nephew did twenty,my dad served in WWII,a great uncle Spanish American War,another one a Yankee wounded in Civil War and our family roots go back to John Hart a signer of the Declaration of Independence.

  Switzerland doesn’t do expeditionary wars. Conscription for defensive militaries of their own nation is not only not a bad thing but often necessary and good in many cases. Switzerland does not do conflicts in Indochina and the Middle East for regime change. Switzerland, if not attacked themselves, does not fight on behalf of countries thousands of kilometers away from them.
